The red butterfly covered in dots is eye catching and beautiful and is said to be inspired by Marc Jacobs love of polka dots. It looks quite something on my white dresser; stylish and elegant, something of a spectacle. Now to the most important part – the scent. As somebody who loves floral perfumes this is right up my street. The fruity top notes of red berries and dragon fruit simmer down allowing the orange blossom and jasmine to shine through and before the dominant scents. There’s also some vanilla thrown in there which brings it all together creating a fruity and floral scent. The longevity isn’t too bad and after four hours or so it’s still pretty fragrant. Overall I’m happy I’ve added this scent to my collection.

To begin with, yes this perfume was launched in 2012!! and is discontinued. It doesn't mean that you can't find it in multiple stores, Marshall's carries a lot and with a great discount. It's a good perfume, it's fruity with "boozy" undertone. It's rather sweet than fresh. Some people may call it generic fruity-flower perfume. Well, if you want an everyday summer scent, which is light and not overpowering that would be a great choice. Bottle is great too.

DOT has surprised me with its lightness. I was expecting something heavier and sweeter, having read the fragrance notes before hand. I'm not saying that it isn't sweet - I just find the sweetness fresh and zesty, rather then cloying and obviously artificial.\nWhile the bottle is childish, I quite like it and think it is unique and pretty. Red and black pokadots. It comes in 30, 50 and 100mls bottles.\n\nDOT's top and heart is a mild mix of fruit, honeysuckle and watery orange blossom. I can't separate the exact berry notes used, maybe currants and raspberry? I'm also not familiar with pitaya, but I'm guessing that it the source or the mango-like accord in the fragrance. The woodsy notes and soft musks are so clean and airy, whilst the slight hint of coconut gives everything a comforting creaminess.\n\nOfficial scent notes: Red berries, pitaya fruit [dragon fruit], honeysuckle, jasmine, orange blossom, coconut water, vanilla, driftwood and sensual musk.\n\nOverall, I would say this is a floral/fruity fragrance, but it's musky enough to give it some depth. It's not super feminine and sweet, however. I feel like this could equally be a daytime or night time scent; strong but not overpowering. I especially like that it really lasts, but also- it still smells great by the end of the day, unlike some that change a bit too much as time goes on. Dot is very wearable and can be worn to work, casual wear/weekends and crowded parties, but it's not unique enough to make me feel glamorous on special occasions.\n

This is the most beautiful perfume I’ve ever smelled. I am picky with perfumes because I find one I like and when I put them on either the scent changes completely and not for the better or they give me awful migraines. But the first time I smelled Dot by Marc Jacobs I was in love. Especially after I put some on and it still smelled amazing and didn’t give me a headache. It’s expensive but worth it. Sadly it has been discontinued so I’m back in the no perfume zone when it’s gone. I really wish Marc Jacobs would reconsider and bring it back.

Oh my gosh!! Can we talk about the bottle?!! BEAUTIFUL and spicy just like what's on the inside. Very unique packaging. I guarentee that if you have it on your dresser or vanity and a friend comes walking through they will be drawn to this bottle asking "ooh what IS this perfume?" And they try it on and fall in love. The bottle sucks you in and the scent makes you fall in love and stay!! Its strong, yet not overpowering. It will announce you to the people that are nearby or walk past. Yet it smells oh so good. Passion /fire/ mysterious / magical are what I would use to describe this scent. Marc Jacob's knows how to do unique and scents very well and this is no different. If you want something a little less noticeable, I would try any other scents in this collection, ... MoreOh my gosh!! Can we talk about the bottle?!! So nice to have this in my collection, and you will want this in yours as well. I love to put this in a small decanter and keep in my purse and then spray some in my vehicle , for the next couple days if I have someone in there they will ask me what smells so good in there!! Love this.

This is definitely a soft fragrance, but it does not last long at all. At first spray you experience the notes but then it just disappears. I bought it at Ross and I actually like it. There is a more dramatic bottle out there but I’m satisfied with this one. Anyway, the juice is super fruity and smells like a really good shampoo. I guess I would call this one of those fragrances that would be easy to wear around others because it isn’t too strong and offensive. All in all I would not purchase this again and feel like it was a waste of my $20.

Marc Jacobs Dot Eau de Parfum 50mlUsed this perfume years ago and loved the smell , saw it on offer in Superdrug at half price so I treated myself.Read reviews before I did buy it again and was mystified as to why some complained about it having a different bottle top so was confused as to what the complaint was about . It was because the top on the bottle was half the size it was previously and not so ridiculously large.!Makes it much easier to carry in your handbag and of course the size of the top is not detrimental to the smell of the perfume.Ten out of ten, as usual for smell and of course to Superdrug for the half price offer.Thank-you.

My wife loves this fragrance. Honey and Dot are her favourites. Fragrance direct have always done a great job delivering to us with good prices and service. Been ordering for 4 years from them for different fragrances, mostly Marc Jacob. Very happy.

Review of Marc Jacobs Dot Eau de Parfum for her
14 December 2021

Bought this perfume before for my daughter-in-law & she loved it. She thinks the bottle is fab. Looks gud on her dressing table. Unfortunately the box came minus its cellphone wrapper which made it look as if someone had tried it & then sent it out.Not a good look when she opens her gift on Christmas Day.It makes it look as if I’ve tried it & then thought this is not for me & so I can wrap it up & give it to someone else. It’s such a shame as all the other perfumes I ordered came in their boxes & cellophane wrappers.

Smells great! None comes with cellophane.
20 November 2021

I bought this at the store and all of the boxes don't come with cellophane wrap, but that doesn't mean it's not new. All the returned perfumes are in a separate pile and they won't put returned merchandise on the floor for sale again. The smell is a perfect floral fruity. The bottle is gorgeous. The little butterflies on the bottle can fall off easily because it's just attached with glue so be careful. Can't wait to gift this to my friend. She'll be so happy!
