As a proud spaghetterosexual, I was aroused and wetted at the thought of making my own pasta. This pasta extruder has yet to disappoint. The body of the extruder fits comfortably between your legs (for stabilisation), and the pasta dough feeds through as smooth as a dream--a WET dream ;)I can't recommend this enough. It certainly gets my tomato sauce pumpin', and I think it just might do the same for you! Also, a bonus feature that I don't see listed on the site (IDK why) is that it's shower safe! I'm not sure I'd say waterproof though as I've never tried actually submerging it in water for an extended period of time.

Got our dough ready, set up the machine on the slow setting. Within the first 3 rotations the crank cracked on the inside of the machine. The “slow crank” we are assuming is attached to a gear system, and something within that system broke. Sounded like plastic cracking. Disappointing and a waste of money.

The machine is great but there are certain things that need to be clarified so expectations are well set before you buy.It wasn't as easy to clean as I expected or would have liked and the clamp is one one side and the crank is on another meaning you absolutely need a table corner to use it, forget your kitchen counter like other machines.Also, the recipe with 5 eggs included in the box is a no go. Make sure your pasta is egg-free so it's not too sticky or they will all stick together coming out and it's impossible to declump - and again to clean the machine!Otherwise it's great, just wish I knew these buts first haha :)

I read the poor review and just had to chime in as I bought this for my boyfriend last Christmas and we love it! We love making fresh pasta (and make it often) so having the ability to make different pasta shapes that you can't with a traditional roller is so much fun for us. We definitely had our doubts at first but after a few seconds of cranking the most beautiful rigatoni began to appear from the machine! You do have to manually cut the pasta but the built-in wire cutter makes it easy. Just make sure that your dough is fairly supple to begin with and that the gluten has time to rest in the fridge for about 30 minutes before extruding. Also be sure to add your dough in smaller chunks as to not overfill the hopper, but otherwise owning the machine has been a success!

This machine is awesome!!! I used a recipe that another reviewer listed (1/2 semolina, 1/2 flour, 4 room temperature eggs) and it came out perfect!!! I wanted to be able to make tubular pasta because I already had the Marcato machine that flattens. This machine did a great job. Pasta was thicker than what I am use to with the flattening machine, but still tasted so good. I soaked my die while I was cleaning up and boiling the water, then used a little hand brush. Others talked about cleaning being difficult, but I did not find that to be the case. It is time consuming because you turn about 2 whole turns and then cut the pasta, but so worth the effort!

Excellent pasta machine, but needs some more practice to get the consistency of the pasta right. Made a drier than usual pasta dough, as instructed, but the Bucatini was still quite soft when it came out. It also was quite thick and chewy, which may be the dough or may be the actual die in the machine. More time and practice will tell.

Review of REGINA Pasta Machine for Extruded Pasta Shapes

Lovely little thing. The included recipe, for the pasta dough, didn't really work for me. We ate the resultant pasta but, when I try again, I'm going to follow a youtube nonna video! It's a learning curve. The machine is easy to dismantle for cleaning. There's a fifty/fifty chance that the kitchen will be set up, in such a way, that it can be clamped to a work surface. It's not too difficult to use without the clamp, though. The version I bought was quite a bit more expensive than the version available on Amazon but it has a cutting wire device attached. I thought about whether I could manage handling a big sharp knife, at the same time as feeding the pasta into the hopper and turning the wheel, and I decided the extra expense was worth it.

Ring Nut Broke On First Use :-(

I received an older (unused) machine and I was excited to try it. I've been making pasta for many years with my KitchenAid mixer and attachments, but I hoped the macaroni produced by this machine would be a nice additon to the flat pastas I usually have. I followed the directions exactly, using the recipe in the booklet that comes with the pasta extruder. I added two extra egg yolks instead of water, and the dough was quite dry (but still pliable). [A side note to the reviewer who said an egg based dough can't be used in this machine - perhaps she needed to add more flour, stickiness is due to too much liquid, not too many eggs,] At any rate, I extruded no more than two inches of dough when the ring that holds the dies in place cracked. It would no longer hold the die tight up against the barrel. I switched to using my KitchenAid with the extrusion plates I bought over forty years ago. They did fine, so it wasn't a problem with the dough, but rather with the plastic ring. Perhaps it is because my machine though unused is older? But the KitchenAid extruder plates and attachment are older than the Marcato Regina pasta extruder, so I still fault this product. I haven't found a replacement ring offered yet. Perhaps I can super glue the ring together? At any rate, I'm dissappointed.
