I waited a while to write this review as I was undecided as to whether I actually liked Marmite or not I first tried it on a slice of toast, I think I may have spread it too thick as the taste was very strong and unpleasant. I then tried Marmite again on a crumpet and much to my surprise, it wasnt that bad My friend then suggested I stir it into my homemade soups, lasagne, Bolognese and it definitely added flavour. Even if you dont like the taste initially I think it is something that you can definitely learn to like, and what better incentive than the amazing nutritional values, 50 RDA Folic acid, and 60 RDA B12 with plenty of others. I will be experimenting with Marmite to see what other meals I can add it to

Marmite in a sqeezey bottle is essential to create a luscious, lacy delicate pattern of delight on a slice of white toast. Chefs secret is to use twice as much butter to marmite, just trickle gently and in no curcumstances spead with a knife. It has to be white bread, not brown so you can appreciate the contrast in colour. Just try it White bread usually tastes like cardboard to me but this is a sensory sensation

Because apparently its one of those things you either love or hate. I tried Marmite for the first time today. I had asked a few people who have eaten it what it was like before trying it and every one of them recoiled in horror and told me its disgusting, so what were my first impressions Well I was surprised to see that it has so many B Vitamins I like that about it and the sniff test revealed a rather beefy aroma which I also liked. Then the finger dip... first hit was big and beefy, what an intense flavour I wasnt too sure if it was just too much for me. Next what to do with it Well I love bread and olive oil and I normally have it with Balsamic Vinegar so I decided to try this and substitute the balsamic with the Marmite I liked this the flavours worked well ... MoreBecause apparently its one of those things you either love or hate. Then I went for the toast option, brown seeded with a skim of Marmite the flavour was definitely stronger again with this and I found with the first bite I wasnt sure if I would finish it but with each bite after that I kept thinking the same but I still kept eating it plus one of the people who told me it was disgusting came in during this and I asked them if they wanted to have some and told them it was full of B vitamins to which they pulled a face and reluctantly took a bite, and suddenly they perked up and said it was really nice and that they were going to start eating it So there you go, one convert and a newbie who doesnt love or hate it but who would definitely eat it again.

Tired marmite on toast for breakfast this morning. After previously hearing mixed reviews, I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it actually tasted. It has a strong yet pleasant taste and was surprisingly moreish. My 15 month old son agreed and enjoyed munching through his own slice. My husband wasnt so keen as he found it too strong and salty. I will definitely eat it again in future.

I tried marmite a few ways I would recommend using sparingly as the taste is a strong one Although, that does mean it will last longer Its strong, rather salty with the obvious yeasty taste. I find eating it alone leaves that yeasty after taste for a while. Its much better if spread in a thin layer alongside butter. It is not something I would eat on a daily basis but when I have cravings for salty food this fits the bill

Although it can be a bit of an acquired taste I really love the taste of this on toast, the key is to butter your toast then apply the marmite. It is a savoury treat that I enjoy having at breakfast. The vitamins in it also make it a healthier choice than other spreads. Would definitely recommend.

I am not the biggest fan of Marmite, I really want to love it but theres something about it that niggles me. Although since getting this Marmite I have started to eat it a lot more, every now and again I have it on my toast. I really like the consistency, and the first initial veggie taste. Spread thinly on toast is enjoyable. From someone who used to detest Marmite, I am a changed women. 810 would buy again.

Handy for holidays

Sent this item to review. We are a house of Marmite lovers so that passed the first test. The portions are quite small but enough for two slices of toast or crumpets. If you like a thicker spread you would need two. We have a touring caravan and these will be ideal when travelling as there is no need to transport heavy jars. Dropped one star though because the eco credentials are not great due to the amount of packaging involved.

Im in the love camp

Im reviewing this product because I received a free sample from Ocado. I love marmite, I could eat it with a spoon. If I needed a way to transport small portions, for example maybe travelling abroad, camping, or even sending to a fellow marmite aficionado, then this is great. However, I feel that you really do have to pay the price for this convenience. I understand that there is a lot more packaging, but I think the price is a little excessive. Marmite 11/10, price 3/5.

it marmite in little heart shaped pots

Well whats not to love - it marmite !Cute little pots that are a bit fiddly for older hands though hence the loss of a star.Big negative for me is you cant get all the lovely marmite out so a bit of wastage .Dont mind excessive use of packaging as the pots cheer you up so think justified in this instance .
