Bought this a few days ago for some shade over our pool. Make sure to get some heavy pavers as it will blow over in the slightest of wind. (They should tell you this on the box including the size of pavers)Other than that it’s a quick easy solution to the hot summer weather.

All parts included except for the crucial pin, required to hold the umbrella post to the base post. Nothing in the instructions, to indicate a pin is required, however won't work without it. (when you try to lift the handle to open the umbrella, the post moves up and down and handle sits incorrectly, on the lip of the base post). Bought a screw- in furniture leg that fits, to act ac the required pin. Alerted Bunnings to the oversight, hopefully Marquee include the part in the future. Other than this issue, the Umbrella is sturdy, well made and throws shade well. Material awesome, lovely charcoal/black colour and great for around the pool.

I bought this 6days ago and I had to threw this away yesterday even though I bought it for my new years eve bbq party. Installing was very easy and quick. Looked good and I enjoyed every evening sitting under this umbrella. When I came back from work I saw it hanging out of my fence when I came in and checked it the middle metal part was broken and all 4tiles that I bought separately to hold the umbrella bottom firm were flipped over. Yes, it was windy but that is a outdoor umbrella. I cant close and open every time it is windy. It wasnt hale, wasn’t strong wind or stormy. It was a normal windy day on and off. I called the bunnings rothwell and all she told me was you are not suppose to put it when it is windy. Nothing that she mention about warranty or exchange or ... About 3 months into owning it.Easy to install, I did it alone but 2 people would have been better. Great area coverage especially over pool, and blocks out neighbours very nicely.Colour is great.Price is VERY reasonable.I do love it... but there is one con are:The cord inside the mechanism is a little thin, gets very worn and wont last forever, wear is caused by putting it up and down and also the rubbing when its blown by the wind (to be expected and acceptable for price)… It can fall over easily in a breeze as they all do, so put some weight on it & I think they have some for sale for this model BUT all of these style umbrellas are going to be collected in the wind so that's not a fault, just a fact. The foot pedal on mine has never worked to turn it at ... However it is so big that it covers a fair bit of area. And that's my problem to take back, I'm just too lazy so I dealt with it.The trunk of it is not round, it will not go through the middle of a table with the circle cut, its free standing only - again that's how its supposed to be, but just something I noted.I bought this thinking "cheap enough to last a year, and buy another next year... and thats probably fair enough.
I bought this about a month ago and read a lot of negative reviews about this and similar devices. It was fairly easy to put together and with 4 400mm square pavers, it seems fairly stable standing on some paving near to our pool. I've been careful to put it down whenever wind or rain is expected and always at night and I've taken care with putting up and down. So far it has been fine and I don't have any reservations. We will see how it goes long term. One gripe I have about the product is that the dimensions of the box are not quite correct. I measured carefully whether it would fit in my car, but it was longer than the measurements said. Having said that, the very helpful Bunnings' employee putting it into the car was able to solve this problem. Great take out ... Too many plastic components. Flimsy structure, I can see why they use a thin light weight fabric. Won't handle well in wind. Need to handle with care.I liked that it has a rotational base, you can swing umbrella around. Easy to unfold and fold umbrella. Provide a decent shade. I have bolted this umbrella to a 40kg concrete and i think this does far better job than those pavers.
Purchased this umbrella for Christmas celebrations. Fell over on two occasions even with sand bags in place. Is not engineered correctly and is a safety hazard. Injured three children sitting at a table on the second occasion. Safety recall required has been reported to Bunnings and Consumer Commission in NZ. Do not buy.
Fabric is see-through, not canvas. Black thin shiny fabric akin to a cheap suit fabric. Pole bends and leans towards umbrella canopy. The slightest wind and the umbrella swerves and vibrates like a cartoon UFO trying to land in a tornado. Made of thin cheap metal. Save your money and buy a decent canvas market umbrella or pay the crazy amount asked for a high quality cantilever. This is a waste of $139. Also only 1 base in Bunnings fits a cantilever umbrella for a cool additional $70. Not impressed
This is my second review on a replacement umbrella of the same - see 9 months ago under Tracy. Finally that umbrella died... I know its got a 12 month warranty but who is going to lug these big heavy things back.So comparisons for the new replacement umbrella. The first thing I noticed is the shaft/pole that the umbrella goes up and down on is thinner and I can almost wrap my hand around it (excluding an inch). The other was about 3 inches larger in width and felt heavier/sturdier.The pole is made different - The last one there were strategically places holes for the umbrella to click into, which was good enough, but on this one, the pole is slimmer and feels lesser quality because of that, and it has holes for the umbrella to slide up and down and pin into at ... In my opinion it is not required, or perhaps just a few more, not the whole pole. Just my opinion and neither here nor there I guess. The second thing I noticed is a bit of a big 'Con' - The umbrella fabric itself is thin, its slightly more than a weather umbrella for rain, and not as good as the original, which was a fully opaque heavy canvas. In my opinion, this one is rubbish and I put it in the basket of "it will do I suppose". I cant see it lasting at all if the umbrella does fly and hits something like a fence or the ground which the probability is high as they lean a bit when you put them up on an angle, which is why you require weights on the bottom. So I am pretty sure this fabric is going to tear very soon. The next thing I noticed might be a "Pro" - yet to be seen.In the last review I said that the string that operates the winding would perish due to rubbing on the metal. It did, and snapped rendering the whole umbrella useless hence the need for a new one (although I think I might be able to restring the original)This new one, they have a new plastic extension that comes off the raw metal centre inside the umbrella that guides the string so as to not hit the metal. The string should actually last longer on this one, but pointless to make something better if you make something worse like the fabric of the shade itself, which might perishes first.Again, its still only cheap in price to be able to afford one if you need to replace, but had hoped it would have been over 9 months from purchasing one to the replacement. And i really didnt think that they would take away the quality canvas fabric and replace it with rubbish. Shame.Would I buy again? Im leaning on the side of no, maybe not.
This thing is a trooper, survived nearly 3 years and 2 wet seasons in the NT, we never lowered it to help evaporation loss, it ended up going on an adventure twice, landing in the neighbours yard and on their roof during the savage build up storms. since then we tied it off to the pool fence and put 25mm steel plates on the base, it would still jump around during storms and provided hours of entertainment. Finally ripped the top shade enough that zippy ties wont keep it in action so will be buying a new one. 10/10
