Marshall 1987X - 50W Plexi Head

Product Information: While the 1987X shares the same front and rear panel features as the 1959SLP, it has its own distinctive sonic personality - sweet, warm and singing are the tonal trademarks of this much respected, all-valve head. Great care has been taken to ensure that this re-issue remains as true to the original as humanly possible, including its classic look. Mission accomplished! Once again, the only modification is the addition of a switchable Series Effects loop, with that all-important True Bypass switch.

Out of all the Marshall amps this is my favourite. It has a tone and punch that is unmatched and arguably the best amp out there for the money.

The very best head for your Blues and Rock journey!

I had the original head and 8 x 10" speaker bottom way back in 1969, when I-was just a very young record-copying aspiring guitarist. I used a "Y" cord to use both channels, and when those tubes got hot, watch out!!! All the kids in my neighborhood said that I had "the English Sound"! I turned many a head at gigs along with my 1970 SG Special with P90's!. Great amplifier head, at any price! Of course, like a fool, I was convinced by an older tech guy, that Fender was where it was at, and I sold the Marshall!!! Well, that's the end of my story, as that amp could never be replaced! Pick one up after you saved up enough cash, or just charge it! The best still available!
