The ending was super satisfying. The Wii U GamePad allows you to have a interactive map with customizable "soft button" commands. A cool touch is that the developers made the map distorted or otherwise unavailable where contextually relevant. It's also a great resource to glance down at to find where your enemies are hiding or assign your team to specific targets. The GamePad also allows you to play exclusively on the controller's screen, which was awesome for when I had to relinquish control of the TV. Just press and hold the Select / - button at any time; the transfer is instant and seamless. If you need to pause a cut-scene, just press the "Home" button, and the.

Won't review this fully because the game has been out a while and there are much better, lengthier reviews. One standout feature on this Wii U version is the Genesis interactive comic you can choose to watch prior to launching your ME3 campaign. Instead of keeping my eyes on the TV for everything, I have to look down to manage inventory. It's a little annoying in that regard, but still a welcome feature in the heat of battle to not have to pause the screen to manage it.Overall, this is the same ME3 experience I recall from the PS3, but tailored for the Wii U's GamePad. The most important feature: that powerhouse third party titles can and will work on Nintendo's new system, and gamers can expect to see much more in the future.

I'd never played the previous Mass Effect games before, so I was expecting to be completely lost with the storyline. Especially when I'd heard other people review the game. I was completely wrong. The game starts out by letting you customize your character, which is pretty awesome. Then, in the form of a comic book, the recap starts. The game lets you choose which way the storyline goes as you get the general background. For me, it was a bit odd and I was unsure which option to pick at points, but the background wasn't confusing like I thought it'd be. After you've finished with the recap and the actual game starts, it's much better. It took a bit of getting used to because I'd never played a game with so much freedom and with so many different options, but once you get past that the fun starts. As you delve into the story, that comic book background begins to make more and more sense as you interact with the characters. Your goal in this game is very simple: Defeat the Reapers. What's awesome about this game is you can feel like you're really part of the story. You can develop your character the way you want, instead of being helpless as to how they react to certain things.I highly recommend this game to anyone who loves first person shooter and RPG games. I would suggest trying out the previous games in this series first before playing this one, but it's not needed. I've had no trouble playing through this game and having a great time.

Mass Effect 3 Special Edition offers those who have yet to play ME3 the chance to play it on Wii U. I think it's fair warning regarding ME3: Special Edition on Wii U that you could obtain ME3 for PC, PS3 or Xbox360 for significantly less money currently because it has been out for those platforms for much longer. That said, this version includes a few of the DLC packs that you would have to purchase if you bought it for on another system. The From Ashes DLC includes a major character addition and an extra mission, which makes it a fairly good edition.I would also warn potential buyers that there is a significant advantage to having played the previous two games. This game is great on its own, but the impact will be increased if you've played through the stories on the previous two games. Otherwise, you'll need to read in-game explanations in the codex explaining what occurred in previous games. Characters will show up and recognize your character, Shepard, and you'll have no idea who they are or why they know you if you haven't played the previous ones.Even if you haven't played the previous games, you can use the included Mass Effect Genesis interactive comic before you start your gam.

As the title says ME3 Special edition is most suited for those of you who do not have the previous two games, but wanted to get into the series. It's akin to watching Return of the Jedi before the Star Wars and Empire Strikes back. On the plus side you get the N7 Collectors edition DLC From the Ashes with it. (Ten dollar buy.) And the Mass Effect 2 Genesis comic. (Comic is slightly interactive to allow you to make some of the major decisions from the previous two games. Downside is, that it still doesn't let you make a good number of them, and gives you a default setting. Maybe after I use it a while I will grow accustomed to it. (this complaint probably is more specific to the system than this game.)Another nice thing about this game is you get all of the DLC mentioned above, on disc. No downloading and waiting for it like it is on every other platform. (In fact the Xbox Version is a 2 disc game with some of the worst disc swapping I have ever seen. I think a typical run through on that version requires 3 or four swaps for me.)Multiplayer works well enough. The Wii U MP section is nowhere near as large as either PS3 or Xbox, but I had no trouble finding others to play with for it.The Extended cut ending is included on disc. This is a MAJOR positive here because the original endings deserved the backlash they.

I haven't played any of the other games in the Mass Effect series (don't use Sony or MS equipment), so this whole setting was totally new to me, and I enjoyed the exposition of this world. The game has incredible replayability and depth of story, and the multiplayer (I'm not a big FPS fan for the most part) I thought was extremely well-constructed. I'm still playing it almost daily. My only beef with the game is the speed with which Galactic Readiness decays, but it's so quick to build back up that it's a very minor concern.Edit: So it's over two years later, and I just recently came up for air after a week-and-a-half long marathon of Xenoblade Chronicles X, which I was thinking might be my favorite WiiU game. Then I realized that no, it's not. ME3 still holds that title. I still play it almost weekly, whether it's just pecking away at another variation of single player story mode or trying to get those last couple of things I haven't yet unlocked in multiplayer. The variation on your character background and setup is so broad that you could easily play through the whole single player campaign 8 or 9 times before you exhausted all of the main story options, and that's not even touching the nuances that taking either a Paragon or Renegade route for your character will create (Paragon being the "noble" decisions/attitudes/conversation choices and Renegade being the more "ruthless antihero" type choices). The graphics hold up pretty well, and the gameplay st.

First of all, I'm not a big time gamer at all. I've usually found games like this to be tedious, glitchy and generally more work to enjoy than they should be. It's one of the first games I've played where the quality of the cut scenes and the quality of the game are literally identical. Usually it seems like the cut scenes are very engrossing and graphically rich, then the game itself is sorta... meh.. whatever. But with ME3 the cut scenes often end with you preparing to enter the battle and literally the cut scene ends and you start fighting and there's NO change in graphics quality, everything is virtually seamless and amazing. If you have a big HD TV it's really a fantastic game.Game play is hard but not frustrating, enemies are relentless without being predictable and the weapons are mostly satisfying. My only real complaint is that as a non-gamer dork I constantly have the feel.
