Needed a simple combination lock for my daughter to practice using before starting 6th grade and using a locker for the first time. This was perfect! It took a minute to find as I did have to ask for help and when I found the aisle they were on in a whole wall of giant pad Master locks, the combination locks had one little rack at the very bottom that I almost missed. Glad I found it and it has been a great practice for my daughter! Thank you.

I have used this for a week. I liked that it was inexpensive. I used it on a locker in a secure building, for which it worked well to keep “honest people honest”. The other, more expensive locks, seemed more sturdy and I would buy one of those if I needed to secure something outside or somewhere where theft is more likely to happen.

Easy to use combination lock - there is enough leeway around each number to avoid frustration, but not so much that it can be guessed.Security seems fairly good for a combination lock.I recently got a new one, but have used an older model for 10+ years in outdoor (but sheltered) conditions.

After many years, nothing has changed.

This design has been used for decades. Indeed, Master Lock has put a half a cent more anti-shim design into it, but it is basically just marketing hype.The structure is so weak that a swift tap to the lock body with a hammer can destroy it. The shackle is still hardened steel, though it's a waste of money in the design when paired with the terrible body.Shimming is easy, the only half hearted effort Master Lock put into anti shim was locating the locking lug a few Millimeters lower. You just need a bigger shim, nothing special.These locks are worthless. I do not recommend at all except in extremely low risk and low security applications, such as locking the interior side of your attic door in a city with extremely low crime rates.

An okay lock, but very poor logistics by Cabelas

I received this lock on my gun case for my last restricted firearm purchase. Cabelas never sent me a combination, so I resorted to cutting it off the case. Not everyone may have the proper tools to do this.I'm now waiting for another restricted firearm purchase. The firearm is (allegedly) being held for me, but since this lock has been backordered for weeks, they haven't sent the firearm.Amazon, Canadian Tire, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, and many other stores have this in stock -- both online and in brick-and-mortar stores. Low security rating

I purchased a 1500D dial lock for securing a storage unit. On the package it says it is a hardened steel shackle that is cut resistant. However on the front of the package it gives a security rating of 3 out of 10. That should have been a red flag right away!We received a phone call from the storage facility telling us that the padlock was cut off. Luckily nothing was taken. I will continue to purchase Masterlock products however not this inferior lock. Save your money and do not purchase this lock!
