This comes in two separate parts that stack on top of each other, but they do not lock-in or clip together. The top piece just barely balances on the bottom piece and will fall off with the slightest bump, sending your hot coals everywhere.

Comes in two pieces, and unfortunately they don’t sit that well together. The top piece easily slides off the bottom piece making it pretty useless for what it is supposed to do. A $3 steel bowl with the bottom cut out would do a better job

I TIG welded the two bits together. Like the other review says it is a bit of a balancing act. Im guessing they made it in two pieces so they could ship more product on one pallet. It is five stars after welding it together tho, but thats for original invention not this particular product which is a slightly cheaper knock off.

Fantastic for creating indirect heat on a kettle grill. Perfect for chicken wings-really crunchy. Works like the Vortex from what I gather.
I don't think there is an issue with the two piece construction. Once the coals are in, I can't see why you need to move it. Further it easily pushed back in place.4 stars only because it is two pieces.
Does the job perfectly for what it was designed for.
