Matrix SoColor is my favorite hair color. For my clients and for myself. In the fall, the 8CC is the perfect shade. It is vibrant and shiny. I often go light in the summer, so when fall comes around, the light copper color pops. I use with 20 volume for 45 minutes. It covers the few grays that I have perfectly and when using a color safe shampoo and conditioner, the color lasts.

I have used Matrix since I started my career in the beauty / hair industry and it has never let me down! Beautiful color

It is a beautiful color, I been using it for 1.5 years. When I used it with 10 developers it is dark like I want it. When I use 20 developer it looks more lighter. Examples wearing the spaghetti dress is lighter, the darker is on the right side wearing blue top and chain necklace.

Beware - Not Getting Consistent Results

Have been using this product for years. Since Covid shutdowns, started applying myself without problems (instead of thru hair stylist). Most recent purchase was in January 2022 when I purchased 2 tubes. Used first tube with no problems. When I used 2nd tube my hair comes out chocolate brown instead of a light neutral blonde! Saw other users comment about this may happen if you use expired product. Don't know if that is what happened to me. I am ordering again today and will check the expiration dates carefully on product that I receive from this vendor.

Counterfeit product?

I am concerned about this product being of a fraudulent nature. While the tubes I ordered from the seller MakeupTrading (based out of California) are unopened and appear legit at first glance, I know that all professional hair care products have serial numbers and/or dye lots and the two tubes I ordered from this sellers have this number blacked out with some sort of marker or paint. Secondly, legit Matrix products always list the ingredients of their product. The two tubes I purchased are missing this information entirely. I attached photos to compare the two tubes I just purchased (on the left) to a tube I already had in my possession (on the right). I am beyond nervous about using this product on my scalp and will be investigating further. Buyers beware!

Covers grey

I’ve been using this product for over 25 years. Definitely covers my gray. Now that I’m in my 60s I have to dye my hair once a month. But that’s just because it grows out.Would definitely recommend this hair dye.

High Ammonia Process strong odor!

I was very disappointed with the description that this item states that it features a Low ammonia systemt. That is very incorrect and for that matter I will not be purchasing this particular item ever again. The moment you open the box and begin preparing the cream you experience the smell of the ammonia so strong that you have to step back from preparing the hair dye, I was Pleased with the shipping processed but it dont make a difference if the item i ordered not great!!! I will be putting a claim for return.

I love this hair dye. It covers most of my grays.

I like the colour and I appreciate the extra comb- made it easier to apply. It did not get as red as I wanted it to, but it is still a beautiful shade and it complements my skin tone. Would purchase again.

Matrix extra coverage

I love these colours. They’re the best. There’s no transparency at all at the roots. I mix 507R and 507C and get a lovely copper red. I have fast growing hair and a lot of it and not having to mix base is the best well actually perfect. I often get asked what colours are in my hair, so I do have few facial foils they last for over three months only lighten a couple of shakes lighter and comb through the colour for five minutes every three months I’m a of a six with lovely copper red highlights. Coverage is amazing conditioning. I found my perfect colour thank you matrix.

My Long time coloring cream

I love this coloring cream. I have sensitive skin, but I can use this cream and the color is perfect. I have been using this matrix for years. I hope they still make this for long time.
