The online information and the manual is missing one important piece of information. It is misleading by depicting a Car and caravan in the instruction manual. The fact is it only works when connected to the source battery. On a caravan you disconnect the car when camping which includes the source battery. The unit will not charge with solar without the source battery. This defeats the purpose of solar input for free camping.

Just fitted charger, brings the battery up very well but cannot change chemistry types, ie from lead acid to the other battery types
Matson 20A 12V DC Charger is very well designed and is high quality. It works as expected and is very easy to setup and use. I highly recommend this.
Compact esy to use
Having the Anderson plugs pre fitted makes it so versatile, can be used in multiple locations as apposed to hard wiring in one place
Good for in-vehicle systems, works well with alternator/main battery connected. Not recommended for caravans and solar-only use, the solar charging protocol does not work well when alternator/main battery is disconnected.
This product performs exactly as described, there have been comments that Solar input does not work but in my extensive testing I have found that the unit works exactly as the manual states. There is an exception though where the Solar charger will not work and that is if the battery attached is faulty (which I experienced) and the unit will actually beep, no lights flashing or otherwise but strange behaviour from the unit.The Alternator input will continue to function normally. This is all undocumented in the manual and would be nice if it was update to at least include the Beeping behaviour. Replacing the battery with a new one solved the problem and the fault in the faulty battery was confirmed with an intelligent 240V charger.
Easy to use. Perform well. Come with Anderson plug make connections easy. Solar charger work well. Can charge different types of battery.
