The Hema is flatter and would work better. I have decided the magnification gets in my way for daily use while driving the way it is designed. It need to be smaller. I lamented the passing of my old, out of production Nike Hardbox Square polarized sunglasses because its unique lens shape suited my roundish face features. So I was pleasantly relieved that this Lighthouse model nearly matched the same lens shape. It took a little getting use to the soft frame material, but I found that it easily conforms to my oddly shaped head with one ear a quarter of an inch higher on one side without having to bend the frame. Very comfortable and light with the usual Maui Jim high quality polarized gray lens which greatly reduces glare. Highly recommended.

Not a sunglass guy at all, yet I have tried many pairs over the years and had limited satisfaction. My preference is extremely light (vs heavy), face hugging glasses with a high quality lens. After many, many years I found them Maui Jim Lighthouse sun glasses!!! They are the lightest glasses I have ever found, the quality is amazing, such that my wife has sat on them a couple of times in the car, but no issues and the lens is perfectly clear, perfect polarized lens that allows beautiful colors yet protects my eyes. I am not a sunglasses guy, but only for Maui Jim (Lighthouse) glasses!! Thanks Maui Jim!!!!

Bought my second pair after losing the first that I had for 8 years. These are by far the most comfortable and useful sunglasses I have owned. They are so light weight that it is easy to forget you are wearing them. They provide excellent vision and definition under most sunlit conditions. The only down side is the coating did start to peel a bit on the edges after about 5 years. The new case is also not as good as the previous version that was a zippered clamshell design with a carabiner style clip.
I have been searching for the perfect GOLF sunglasses for the past couple of years. After several failed attempts with other brands, came across the LIGHTHOUSE/Rootbeer Frame/HCL Bronze lens at my local course pro shop and BINGO! Love 'em! Lens color is great in all light, no distortion (no problem reading greens). Frames are super lightweight (hardly know you have them on).
This is my third pair of Maui Jims and the second being the Lighthouse series. For some reason this pair does not fit as well as the pair purchased a few years ago (which was lost or taken during Christmas vacation)The nose pads not only hurt my nose but leaves marks on one side where they are ill-fitting.They also sit crooked on my face so will try to find someone at an optical store to attempt a correction, which I didn't think I would need . Just hoping I don't have to pay out of pocket that much since I didn't buy from them. Maybe I just got a bad pair :(

At the store they told me this model would take just about anything, and they do, but after 6 months of taking sun and use, the bridge gets weak: the bridge may brake and the lenses may crack where the bridge connects.I had 4 pairs of this model for the last 5 year, the first broke because I was showing off to my friends how flexible, light and stylish they are, and the leg broke, Mau Jim replaced them at not charge, the second pair don't remember what happen but also broke but it was my fault and pay full price for the replacement, third I lost the in a speed boat but the 4th pair broke in the bridge from regular use and one lens cracked. I own these and have for as long as I can remember, they are simply the best athletic sunglasses you can get. The are incredibly durable and are made to simply come apart rather than break. I can't say how many times I have accidentally sat on them and the arm simply comes off vs. breaking. If the arm comes off, it pops right back on with no damage. Even though the arms and nose piece will come off, they do not come off that easily, I have never had a pair come apart unless put under stress you'd think would have broken them. I wear them running, biking, water sports, they are so light that I have hard time wearing other sunglasses unless driving. The green tint is mild and you stop noticing after a few minutes so it doesn't bother me like I thought it would. I recommend this brand to everyone and even bought some Breakwalls for my husband and Sugar Beach for my parents.
