I have fine 3A/B curls and it is dense (I have a lot of hair). I’m usually looking for products which will hydrate my curls and keep them looking healthy but not weigh them down. So, this range sounded perfect for me. Unfortunately, though, this range did not do that for me. The shampoo and conditioner together do not provide enough hydration for my hair. Therefore, whilst trialling the product I used the shampoo every second wash in conjunction with a more hydrating conditioner and that worked out a lot better. My hair felt clean, with no build-up and less frizzy with the more hydrating conditioner. To sum it up, I probably won’t be repurchasing the Lightweight Curls + Flaxseed shampoo as it does not suit my needs. Additionally, I should add, if you follow the Curly Girl (CG) Method, the Lightweight Curls + Flaxseed shampoo is CG approved however the conditioner in the same range is not.

Please excuse the terrible jokes in my review, I was really feeling a Disney theme would be the go. I have been on a forever search trying to find my Happily Ever After products (“You want thingamabobs/Shampoo’s? I got twenty”) that give me those Disney Princess “I always wake up with my hair this way ” vibes and let me tell you, this product comes bloody close on the silky feel scale. To shampoo wash I followed the directions on the care card - apply shampoo generously to wet hair, massage into a lather through to ends, then rinse the hair thoroughly. After shampooing, I followed with conditioner. After my first wash, I noticed how clean, healthy and hydrated my hair felt. I couldn’t believe how silky and smooth it felt, and just after one wash! I was keen to rinse and repeat, quite literally, and trial my new found potential shampoo Prince Charming. These bottles are pretty good value for the price too - it’s not the biggest bottle I’ve seen, but the product really goes a long way, and I didn’t feel like I had to use a large amount of shampoo to get a good lather going. You might say it’s like hiding a Genie in a bottle.. The actual bottle is relatively user friendly. I have not used enough product to see if it would be annoying to get out when running low, so that is TBD. But so far, so good. Definitely a fan of the scent too. It does NOT smell chemical-y, or like a dozen rotten eggs dropped in a vat of vinegar. I couldn’t really describe the smell to you, but it IS definitely pleasant, and it was enough for my Prince Charming to comment on how good my hair smelt.. Like side note, what are you trying to say Kevin, did my hair not smell good before??? I certainly noticed a physical improvement in my hair - it is definitely smoother, stronger and silkier than before. I have gone from Merida levels of frizz to Ariel’s underwater locks (and that’s without brushing my hair with a fork!) All that said, I’m ever so slightly disapointed to say that I can’t say I noticed an increase in my curls at all, which is the only reason why I’m giving this product a 4 star instead of 5. But a big thumbs up for the everything else! I would definitely recommend this shampoo to friends, family and you, internet reader, this product will give you locks to rival even the swish-i-est of the Disney Princess’s hair, but please note, happily ever after and Prince are not included!
