Excellent Purchase for a First Guitar ; It comes with everything you need for a basic strat sound. Amp is ok for practice however you may need a dist. pedal or the like for as there is no foot switch but at the price not really necessary. The neck was straight although the action was a little high, and if your a dad who has been playing for years buying your kid their first guitar, the neck will benefit from some sanding back to thin it out a little bit. Frets are precise which is excellent for a guitar this cheap. The bag is a "grip fit" so it'll pay to look at a hardcase at a later stage. For $190 AUD this was a pretty tight purchase and easily recommendable for a beginner that has someone to help guide them through finer setup.

And it even comes with almost everything that you could possibly need for an electric guitar. Althoug, it could have also came with a guitar chords and tabs book or a step-by-step guitar lessons book to teach you how to play guitar. But it is what it is, and I am happy to finally have an electric guitar. The delivery was quick and took a day or two to be delivered to my house, it was in perfect (and beautiful) condition when it arrived, the guitar and equipment appeared to had a good layering of bubble-wrap, and I really enjoy the qualities of this electric guitar, especially when it's a beginners' electric guitar. Sunburst guitar arrived with scratches and dents to the paint work.Guitar was then eventually replaced with a red one that also arrived with scratches.I was given a £15 refund for scratches
I purchased the Stratocaster GigKit for my 14 year old neice who is absolutely in love with her new guitar and amp. She is now teaching herself Nirvana, AC/DC and other rock and roll tunes. Thankyou DJ City for making her 14th birthday a memorable one.
The single coil pickups are very poor quality and have no oomph. It's hard to configure anything decent in terms of clean amplification. The amp has no guts. I bought a Fender Frontman as a replacement. On top of that, I attempted to change the strings on this guitar and I could not thread the high E string through the bridge. Had to resort to unscrewing everything and even then, the problem couldn't be fixed. It's not worth taking a guitar this cheap in for repair, so I bought a new one with humbuckers. Much better so far than the junk "Max Music" puts out. The gig bag, as expected, was very flimsy. The zip broke during the first use. Save your money and buy a Yamaha Gigmaker pack.
Guitar is good, amp is very bad. There's no point having a good guitar with a terrible amp that makes all the sounds come out sounding bad. There is also a constant loud hum coming out of the amp. 0/10 for the amp. carry bag is the cheapest material you can find. mine arrived already torn and while in use it tore even further.
I mean this is a very cheap guitar kit, so I wasn't expecting much. I got it for a young family member, as I would never buy an expensive guitar for someone who I don't know will even keep it up.But I was pleasantly surprised with the quality, really good quality for the price. I mean it is low quality, of course, but for the price I mean. I'm very happy. Fret board seems decent enough, not sharp or terrible quality. I've seen worse guitars at the same price for just the guitar. And I got a little practice amp with this as well and a electric tuner and some spare strings. Strings are pretty poor, although seem nice and soft to learn on.
