A necessary item

An item I thought was necessary for my 4X4 recovery kit. Will fit in the bag nicely and looks to be a good piece of equipment

Great idea, shame they're not Aussie made though

These are a great idea and great product, it's just a real shame they're imported and not Australian Made.I was looking at these the other day to purchase a couple however, unlike their well known maxtrax recovery boards that are made in Australia, their shackles are imported which seems odd. So I did some research and found a number of other brands, all imported and some cheaper too, including George4x4 who actually hand make theirs in Queensland.Their prices are actually very competitive too so whilst I do like maxtrax products, especially their recovery boards, I went the George brand purely to help support Australian manufacturing. Great idea though as I said and a nice looking product otherwise.

Great service quality gear

Purchased as a gift for a freind, new to 4WD'ing. Getting them to start out with the right equipment that is proven to work.

Only giving 4/5 as haven't had a chance to test it out on the tracks. Appreciate the sheath as many come without, leading to a high risk of damage / failure on most recovery points (caused by sharp metal edges). Also amazingly light weight: VRS 4.75t steel: 1015g | TJM 4.75t steel: 1007g | VRS 3.15t steel: 581 | MAXTRAX Fuse: 76g | MAXTRAX Core: 138g. Have switched out all shackles to MAXTRAX (though still keep 2 steel's just in case).

Maxtrax Soft Shackles

Got to use these sooner than expected! Very easy to setup and certainly felt more comfortable hand winching knowing there wasn't a lethal projectile lined up at me. Light, strong easy to use look well add - a win all round. Melb.

I have soft and steel shackles, these soft shackles are not just light but much safer to use when using the right shackle in the right place.
