A great all rounder dinner set. I bought these to match some older plates of a similar style. Be aware there are very minute differences to the older plates, which were thicker and heavier. I like the newer ones better and no one would ever know at the dinner table. The shipping time was a lot longer than expected which is disappointing for such a big company. I know it's a busy time of year, but nearly all my other online shopping was delivered in a matter of days. Myer took approx 2 weeks.

I ordered two of the same dinner sets and they were different colour (one white, the other cream). The weight of the plates was different too with one set feeling heavier. They also have rough edges and imperfections (small black spots). They look like seconds to me. Myer customer service were most unhelpful and asked me to bring the plates in store for assessment / refund. I ordered online as I can’t physically manage to carry 2 boxes of dinner sets in store. Disappointed. I don’t recommend this product.

I purchased a set two years ago and the quality was good, however the two sets I purchased now are the complete opposite. Unevenly shaped some of the bowls are not glazed on the rim and there are scratches and bubbles on most of the items. I can't believe that Maxwell Williams put their name on them.

Fashions come & go but this style is timeless, not to mention elegant. I have found the recent stoneware ranges far too heavy for everyday use & prone to chipping. This MW set is much more durable but looks stunning in a formal setting also. Really highly recommend.
Have just finished closely examining this set which I collected today. I am so disappointed; nearly every piece has a flaw, whether it be an indentation, a stipple or a thickening in the glaze. I have other Maxwell & Williams pieces — none of which exhibit such poor quality. I strongly feel that the collection I have received is a box of "seconds" and I shall be returning it promptly. I advise anyone considering buying a boxed set, to instead buy individual pieces directly from whichever store they trust and to examine each piece carefully.
Lovely thick and solid dinner set. The plates are the prefect size and I was pleasantly surprised by the bowls. A great shape and size for any size meal served in a bowl. Usually I find the bowls too small. I brought 3 sets and I’m very happy with my purchase.
The crockery is beautiful and finer than the average, but the one plate cracked after 1 time in dishwasher - this may have been a pre-existing weak point as other items were fine in dishwasher. A few of the items have minor flaws, spots or “bumps” in ceramic or gloss finish. The side plates are too small for a slice of toast or small meal and are more suitable for a slice of cake or small snack. Bowls and large plate have a nice size and shape. Not bad, but not quite what I expected
Quality has changed. We bought two sets of these Maxwell and Williams white basics around 15 years ago. They were extremely hard wearing, only recently becoming a bit scratched and tired looking. Replaced them with two new sets when advertised as 50% off a couple of weeks ago. Disappointed to say the least. The colour is no longer white, it is now cream. The feel and "heaviness" of the quality has definitely halved. We're already convinced we won't get the longevity with the new sets that we did with the old sets.
Lovely set which matched the dinner set I already have. So I bought two sets. Great to be able to buy without cups as I do not need more. Very happy with the look and performance of these. No chipping of them either.
My new Maxwell Williams white 12-piece dinner set ticks all the boxes so far as simple style and practicality goes best of all I purchased it at a bargain price from Myer Robina store in Qld. The staff there are very friendly and don't sell you more than what you want or need they gave me advice that I could add pieces to my dinner set as required and they are regularly on special. Win-win. The best in basic dinnerware.
