Actually a replacement for my range hood fan motor. When I replaced the hood fan motor and roof vent motors, I found they're the same part. The range hood fan motor has burned out after only 2 years, why I gave it only 3 stars. I bought 2 to have a spare.

Dodgy packing job. Roof vent base was packaged and in new condition. Shipping was extraordinarily high almost more than the product itself. Would not order again. Do not send the 5 dollar coupon I will not be using it

These are the business! Have installed many time previous & would not be without in any Camper. A game changer esp if you have dogs. Just put this onto exhaust setting, crank open another window & hey presto! Excellent service from 12 Volt Planet, we had delivery next day.

Good products but no service.

The vent works great I only wish I could say the same about their service. Marcus needs to rethink his service end of the Gander/Camping World model. I bought the vent and when I asked about installing they said you need to walk over to the service department. I went over to speak with service department and there were at least three people standing at the counter to speak with customers, when I inquired about the installing the vent she made me feel like I was asking them to do a special favor! She said excuse me that isn't going to happen...we are booking in late June mind you this was in the third week of April! I had a private RV technician install the vent 2 days later that used to work in the RV industry, when I told him the story he just laughed. Great but some annoying quirks
16 February 2020

I love it mostly. The features are good. Fan speed choice is really nice compared to my old 3 speed. Remote control is actually really nice when you're lying in bed and can't be bothered to get up. Huge help for someone with chronic pain. I think it's the best still fan on the market. I don't need to convince you of it's qualities but I want you aware of it's quirks. The annoying bits. * You cannot change the automatic temp without the remote, but that's not big. * In auto mode, whenever the fan decided to shut off it also closes the lid. This extra nice is unnecessary especially when leaving it on while sleeping. Just keep the lid open! * You cannot stop the lid opening Midway with the remote. * the white lid does not block as much light as I hoped. I will likely ... MoreI love it mostly. I will likely paint over it to decrease light * I might even wire in a switch for the power motor to disable it so the lid only changed by hand. But I have to wait longer to decide if it really must be done. Even if it voids the warranty I can't believe the company hasn't had enough complaints about these issues and updated. This model has been around long enough. I guess they are milking a patent or something. Still, I would buy it again

Great fan!
21 May 2020

This is a great fan. I like the fact that I can use it in the rain. My son installed it in about an hour. as i am handicapped, and unable to climb on the roof. But Passing tools through the roof made quick installation of the van. Plus having all the extra materials like silicone caulk and sealer tape on hand. Also made the job faster. It's power is strong and quite. The reverse feature is a total plus to have with this fan. Plus temperature control is a plus. Can't go wrong with this fan. I love it.

Quality Fan. Don't hesitate to buy.
26 June 2024

I had this fan professionally installed due to my age and having to get on the roof. It was easy for the installer to put in. It works great and looks great. It does require a constant 12 volt power source but in my trailer that was found above the range hood and behind the microwave. He snaked a wire thru the ceiling and tied into power. looked simple enough. Its very quiet for such a powerful fan. much quieter than the central A/C. Worth the expense in my book.

Quiet, reversible, thermostically controlled, easy install -- I'd do it again.
5 June 2019

We Self installed this fan --as many have observed, tearing out, cleaning up, preparing the roof for installation was the hardest --most tedious-- part of the about 2-hour installation since I was replacing a passive vent. The old dicor sealant was troublesome. Anyhow, it rained several inches the next day --no leaks! The fan itself runs like it's twin-- just fine -- except this fan can be reversed to draw in cool air at night when that's appropriate, a nice feature, along with temperature control. While yet another remote feels redundant, several people on my team can not reach panel-mounted buttons without a step stool, it's a necessity. Based on the opinion of those who have listened to both, this fan is quieter than the Fantastic fan equivalent. bearings went out in about 3 months
24 March 2022

I like the fan, it runs a lot and I live in the cargo trailer part time . the brushes are dropping carbon into the bearing and causing them to eventually squeak. the top of the bearing was covered in a black dust. if the commutator was below the bearings than I really wouldn't see there being an issue. the second set I put in was just an off brand set that I have laying around for hobbies. I did however purchase some for this fan, they are NSK 608zz. i may coat the outer top of the bearing with a grease to prevent the dust from grinding up the seal. ive got enough bearing to keep this puppy spinnig nicely for years, hopefully. its a nice product with a minor design flaw in my opinion. overall I guess im happy but thats only because I knew what was wrong and how to ... MoreI like the fan, it runs a lot and I live in the cargo trailer part time . the brushes are dropping carbon into the bearing and causing them to eventually squeak. the top of the bearing was covered in a black dust. if the commutator was below the bearings than I really wouldn't see there being an issue. the second set I put in was just an off brand set that I have laying around for hobbies.
