It's probably a good tire. The ones I really want, suitable for long-distance touring, seem to be out of stock everywhere due to the supply chain problems for bicycle parts. But it looks like this one will do in the meantime. I had no trouble mounting it and it has been good on rides so far.

Use for a long time (from 2013). Front 46psi/ 26 2.3 rear 52psi/ 2.15. Always use only for asphalt. Soft for rough road and good ticknes. High inertia make comfortable driving. But fast ending - every 12000 km need a change rear tyre.

Got the 120tpi in 26x2.3 for use on my Motiv Sherpa e-assist cargo bike. Replaced a worn set of Kenda SB8s, difference is night and day. The DTH is very fast, has great traction, and unrivaled comfort. The way they corner reminds me of a motorcycle street race tire, and yet they still perform well on fire roads and jeep trails. I couldn't be happier with the gumwall DTH tires, they are magnificent. Or should I say, "Maxxnificent"!

These tires are excellent for what they are: a BMX tire scaled up for mountain bike use. I picked up a pair of these in 26x2.1 for my custom Y-Bike, for the summer. I bash and ride all over San Diego. They are grippy, very smooth rolling, and fast... boy, are they fast! They are amazing on the street, and not that bad on hard pack trails. The tread isn't very deep, so soft sandy patches require a steady hand.I initially ran these tubeless on Stan's style rims (Sun Ringle Charger Pros), and was uncomfortable with the sidewall flex when leaned over too far. I switched to using inner tubes, and found that the extra material from the tubes provided the support these tires needed to exceed all of my expectations. I don't mind running them with tubes, either, since ...Ā MoreThese tires are excellent for what they are: a BMX tire scaled up for mountain bike use. Excellent tire for dirt jumpers, my favorite tire for street/concrete park riding. A little slick on indoor park ramps but most tires are. The 2.3 size is hard to find for good reason, they just work.
I wanted to set up my old Bontrager Race OR for the street and these were a great choice! The rubber is soft and tacky, but you can pump these up to 80 psi (I'm running at 60) so they roll great on the road. Plus, they're very light and the yellow Maxxis graphics look great š
In and of itself the tire is very good. It's heavy which I don't really like. This could be mitigated by making the tire in a 2.3, but Maxxis doesn't make this tire in a 2.3. If it came tubeless that is another way to cut down the weight, but I don't think it is tubeless. What I do like about the tire is its durability, cushion and grip. The thing can take a beating but impacts aren't as atrocious as they can be with a 2.1. Does good for the wrists. The rollability is decent but not the best. I'd like to see less "negative space", that is, to say conversely, more "knob surface", as I think this would help with the rollability. But I'm not a tire engineer. I'm just kinda guessing here.Overall it's a great tire. wish they could shave the weight and make smoother. ...Ā MoreIn and of itself the tire is very good. It's heavy which I don't really like. Would help with instantaneous momentum increases and rollability, i.e. would strain my quads a little less. This could all probably be mitigated by using a DTH but the DTH has been out in 2.3 for about 3-6 months now. That's half a year of my life....fwiw. Pick up the pace Maxxis.
This is a great tire. I meant to order the larger ones, but these were so light that I decided to keep them. This tire reminds me somewhat of an old "Snakebelly" BMX tire, or a park/street tire, which of course is exactly what it is. I weighed both at 554 grams on a triple beam scale. Supple casing, smooth rolling. More expensive tires are lighter and the casing is higher quality so the tire is more supple. A more supple tire rolls over bumps more smoothly as opposed to a cheaper casing having more tendency to bounce off the object it impacts. I'm running these at 40 psi because rolling resistance can be somewhat counterintuitive. High pressure may not deliver a hugely higher speed, but will give a bumpier ride for sure.
I just restored my 1990s mongoose rigid mountain bike and was looking for a good All round tyre. I mostly ride with my kids on bike tracks, sealed and dirt, to and from school on footpaths and general riding around the streets. These tyres have really transformed my old bike. They roll really smoothly with very little resistance on the road. They are just as good on the dirt soaking up uneven surfaces. I'm very happy with these tyres! They look great too!
Pretty impressed overall. Great for urban use but will suffice if the local trails are dry. Subtle graphics with just the yellow maxxis which is a cool look.
