I am SO HAPPY now that I have these! They are the PERFECT fit (glad I went with the M over the N, though the difference is subtle)! I was worried that the piece in between the toes would chaff and rub but it doesn't at all. The strap width is just right, not too thick, not too thin. They are classy and cute and definitely more feminine and a little less unisex hippy than the Arizona style, plus they were cheaper! I really am in love with these sandals and know that we'll be happy together for a very long time. (Don't mind the shabby state of my toenails in these pics, it's the end of winter here and I haven't gotten a real pedi yet). I never thought it was uncomfortable but I did certainly notice it at first. Within a few weeks I didn't notice it at all! They really do conform to your feet!

Perfect slip on shoes! When I first got them I wore them nonstop for two years, but as they wore out a bit, they were retired to being my garden shoes! The sole material can get kind of scratchy over time which can be uncomfortable under the foot which is why I docked it a star. Otherwise the way they shape to the foot as they break in is so specific. You can see each little toe imprint where it’s shaped the shoes. I’ve gotten them wet (may contribute to the scratchy texture) but they don’t smell. Neither the cork nor the tread hasn’t broken down at all. And I wore them out quite a bit! Sometimes they can feel a bit dorky to wear but I lived in a desert when I first got them and now live in Florida so sandals are common in both places!

Comfy and fresh

These birkenstocks have a fresh and fun look. Comfortable as expected. I am a size 8 and bought the size 38 which fit perfectly. The 39 was too big, you want your foot fully in these shoes but not swimming. They have fully adjustable straps for a perfect fit. Great for all day wear at work or out and about. Loved the gold and bought the olive brown too. Brown is pictured. Try them!

Disappointed

I'm not a down or one the writer reviews, but I think people should be aware of this before dropping $100 on a pair of shoes. I love Birkenstock. I've had several pairs, but I do not think I will be buying them again. After just a few wears, the toe strap broke. I contacted Dillard, who told me there was nothing they could do. I brought them to a repair shop that told me it would cost almost as much to repair them as a new pair. She also said the quality of Brikenstock is going down so badly. I no longer believe the quality of these shoes is worth the price.

Don’t buy in store! Price sticker ruined shoe

Do not purchase these or ANY birks in store. For some reason, they all have the price sticker on the cork footbed. Their price stickers have small security tags under. When I bought these and went to remove the sticker, slowly and carefully, all the cork under got peeled up by the sticker and the security tag was fully embedded in the cork. Who on earths idea was this??? For a $100+ shoe, they really need to reconsider this. Many of their other shoes have the sale sticker on the bottom of the sole. Why Nordstrom why!? When I returned the shoes later in the day, they offered an exchange which I said I would be willing if I got a shoe from the back without a sticker on the cork. Flattering with a caveat

Flattering and covers a bunion on the side of the big toe. This is my favorite Birkenstock. It's easier for me to wear because I prefer the thong/slipper style over the slide. I worry less about whether it will slide off my feet when I'm walking or running around. The only caveat is that there is a weak spot in the design. After much wear, the toe strap simply pops out of the footbed! I had another color in this style that broke like that after 4 years of wear, and I saw other information online that others had experienced the same problem. It seems that repairing it would cost almost as much or more than buying a new pair. I still liked it enough that I bought a second pair to replace my broken one.

Glad I got them!

After suffering for months from plantar fasciitis, I now have to be super careful about wearing shoes with good arch support. Once the hot weather came, I got out my Tevas and flip flops and soon discovered I can't wear them anymore for the pain starts to return! Nooooo! But I needed sandals. A friend who also had plantar fasciitis told me she wear these Birkenstocks all the time so I decided to give them a try. Couldn't be happier! The only thing I wish is I could wear them in the water as on super hot days me and my dog like to walk in the creek. But I know I can't so I won't! At this price don't want to risk ruining them.

Just bought my third pair

I just bought my third pair of these. I’ve owned 2 pairs before, and I wore each one until they broke. I live in Texas where it’s sandal season 7-8 months of the year, and I wear Mayaris at least 5 days a week during all of sandal season. One pair lasted me from spring 2018-fall 2020, the second pair from fall 2020 until last week (April 2024). So I just bought my third pair. The first 2 pairs were the vegan variety, and they both eventually failed at the same place—the toe strap snapped. This time I bought the real leather ones, so I’m curious to see if the toe strap will hold out better. Even though it’s annoying that the toe straps have always eventually failed, when I consider that I’ve gotten probably at least 600 wears out of each pair, I’m still thoroughly ... MoreI just bought my third pair of these. I am generally a women’s 7.5, but birkestock 37s fit me perfectly (and a 37, according to Birkenstock, should be equivalent to a women’s 6.)

The most comfortable sandal I've owned.

These shoes were great, they lasted three and a half years before obvious signs of wear started showing. I can still use them if I wanted but I'm upgrading to a new pair. I live in SoCal so they got year round use. They lived through lots of walking. I also wore them through a pregnancy, they were perfect when my feet would swell. I love these shoes and will be buying another pair soon. It did take a couple of days of breaking in when I first got them but it was worth it for the years of comfort they provided. So comfortable, supportive, and the mocha color is so versatile. You do have to take care of them by cleaning the footed and cork. At one point I had to buy a cork sealer to keep the cork from drying out too much. Very fashionable and comfortable

This was my first pair of Birkenstocks. My sister LOVES hers and highly recommended them. I really like the metallic ones and they go very well with everything in my summer wardrobe, from casual jeans to something a little dressier. The bottom isn't super cushiony, but after wearing them for a while it forms to the bottom of your foot. I have a lot of foot problems, but these are very comfortable for extended periods of wear. I will definitely be getting another pair for next spring/summer!
