The foundation is packaged in a decent sized plastic compact and there is a proper mirror housed inside the lid. The lid opens to two compartments which is separated by a flip top lid inside. The top stores the included applicator sponge which is soft and velvety in touch. The bottom contains the porous sponge which is filled with the foundation. \n\nI prefer a light natural coverage mainly to hide redness and uneven skintone and blemishes. I pressed the included applicator into the porous sponge in the bottom compartment and gently tapped the product onto my face which gave a very light coverage. You can easily build up the coverage by applying another layer all over or target certain areas which need more coverage. I purchased the product in 01 Natural Ivory and found it was a very very good match for my skintone which was pleasantly surprising. I really liked the overall finish - light, dewy and luminous without being shiny like a disco ball. The foundation melted into my skin like a second skin and was hardly noticeable which I LOVED. Absolutely perfect for the 'no make up' make up look and good bye to those cakey foundation days! It really made it look like my own skin but better! \n\nI used a primer underneath however with and without a primer, I have found that the foundation does last throughout the day. The only thing is if you do suffer from dry patches like I do lately in winter, it does cling to those pesky flaky patches so I do feel something a little more moisturising like a BB cream is probably a better product to use on those days.\n\nThe added bonus to this is that it contains SPF 40 which I also love. I do supplement this with a SPF moisturiser underneath though as using this alone and applying such a light layer will not provide adequate sun protection. Probably one of the foundations with the highest SPF protection I've seen!\n\nI also love how Maybelline have consulted the experts in cushion foundations as this product is made in Korea and it really does work like a dream! The only downside is I feel that whilst the product is 14.6g, I doubt there is much actual product inside as the weighty part is the packaging itself, so I'm not sure long this will last and is well suited to those light users rather than those that like a medium to full coverage.\n

Receiving this product as part of the trial team brought back memories, the first foundation I ever bought was the Maybelline Dream Whipped Mousse and it was one I dearly loved. The first thing I noticed before even opening the packaging was that the formula contains SPF 40! That's great, kudos to Maybelline, the SPF 15 in most available foundations doesn't cut it in the Australian sun. It is a decent sized compact, nothing particularly fancy about the packaging and it appeared to be a decent albeit average sponge inside. Opening the compartment to the actual foundation was kind of cool, and pressing the sponge into that squishy little cushion of foundation was more fun than I thought it would be. Opening the compartment to the actual foundation was kind of cool, and pressing the sponge into that squishy little cushion of foundation was more fun than I thought it would be. My main concern with this packaging as a gal who has been using foundation in a pump for years is how easy it is going to be to tell when the foundation is close to running out? Maybe I'll just have to keep a spare, or two. I received the colour true ivory and when I first patch tested it on my wrist I was a bit worried because it seemed very orange, but maybe I was having a bad lighting day because when I tried it a day later on my pale face the colour was pretty much perfect! The consistency of the foundation is very smooth, not too runny and it was very easy to achieve a smooth, even finish with some gentle patting of the sponge. It had a nice level of coverage, although I didn't test it out too thick, it gave a nice natural look. I don't think it has as strong a staying power as my usual foundation and did start to look a little greasy, although it was being tested in the 35 degree heat so it wasn't too bad. Plus it has a nice breathability which was great for the days when I felt like my skin needed a rest but I still wanted coverage. It does have a pleasant fragrance to it although that could be a bit overwhelming if you're sensitive to smells. This is a nice foundation for that natural look, if you want something thicker and more durable you might need to look elsewhere. I would recommend this to friends and family, it gives decent coverage whilst smoothing the skin for a very reasonable price and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

I was so excited to trial this product. I absolutely adored the packaging and the flip compact is a fantastic addition to any woman's handbag for touch ups if needed throughout the day. \n\nThe product was so easy to apply it literally took me minutes for a full face of foundation = winning. Love loved loved the applicator!! It wasn't spongey like most applicators that can soak up all the product. I felt that this applicator allowed more foundation to be applied on the face than left in the sponge AND it allowed me to easily press the product into my skin for a flawless + even coverage. It gave me a light to medium coverage and is easily buildable to full coverage without any patchiness. Perfect versatile for all women whether your like light, medium or full coverage foundation as you can build it up. Also the shade suited me perfectly and looked very natural and even more amazing was the fact it has a built in sunscreen in the foundation (1 less step to do in the morning when your time poor). \n\nThe only things I didn't like about the product were the smell just after applying the product (probably due to the fact it has a sunscreen in it but its something you can get used to at least you know your protected) which did disappear when the product dried. Also I do have combination oily skin (normal on cheeks and oily t-zone) and I felt this product wasn't long lasting on my skin as it did separate after a few hours and literally wiped off my face when i tried the product on its own without any primer or finishing spray. So for oily girls make sure you wear a mattifying primer and set with a spray/powder. I think it would be best suited for a normal to dry skin type but still great for oily girls with added products. \n\nOverall its a fantastic product for the price and I would definitely purchase if maybelline developed a formulation for oily skin types. \n

I ended up purchasing this at a Priceline sale not too long ago due to my usual favourite (Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse) being unavailable and I was also a bit curious to see what all the cushion foundation fuss was about.\nThe first thing that stood out to me with this product was the SPF40 on the packaging. Finally! A foundation with some decent sun protection!\nThe packaging is nothing special-standard compact with a mirror, sponge and the foundation inside. I love the compact foundations however as I find them so handy to carry around in my bag for little makeup touch ups while out and about.\nThe product itself was simple to apply. Just dab the sponge into the foundation which is inside another spongey type "cushion" and dab onto face lightly. Just dab the sponge into the foundation which is inside another spongey type "cushion" and dab onto face lightly. The foundation felt so incredibly lightweight-it was like I had nothing on at all. The scent was quite strong and sunscreen like. Not pleasant, not unpleasant .\nThe foundation gave a light, natural coverage which set flawlessly. Matte, yet radiant.\nI have combination/oily skin and foundation tends to settle in my pores throughout the day or oxidise-no such issues with this one. I didn't even need to use a setting powder. Shade Ivory was a perfect match for my skin tone and the foundation covers what I needed to cover, whilst still looking like my natural skin.\n\nPros\n*Easy to use and compact for travel\n*Light natural coverage that dries matte yet radiant\n*High UV protection\n*Can be buildable to medium coverage\n\nCons\n*Not a lot of product \n*Cant tell when its nearly empty \n\nI really enjoyed using this and feel it gives a beautiful, natural coverage and has great sun protection but will buy my usual Maybelline favourite in future as I like a fuller coverage and to know when I need to buy a new product as you cant really tell with this one until it is empty!\n
I have combination oily/dry skin so I have been testing out some foundations that are not totally matte. After seeing Tati (glamlifeguru) talk about how awesome cushion foundations are, I thought I should try one but wanted to start out on the cheaper side. I will say the applicator that comes with the product is useless - you're better off just stamping a damp beauty blender into the cushion for application. I love the way that this foundation just sinks into my skin. Honestly the shade looks so dark in the cushion but it ends up melting into my skin and matches once it sets a little bit. I will say that this is NOT full coverage - but that's fine with me; I prefer a light-medium coverage depending on the day I am having. I find that other products such as concealer and powder work great with this product as well. It doesn't get too oily after a few hours wear like other non-matte foundations but I still do touch up with some mattifying powder about 6-8 hours in if I need to extend the wear after work.Overall I really like this cushion foundation and would purchase again.
I don’t know how to eẽplains all of the functions of this cushion. This cushion is the best of the cushion I had tried. It super cover to dry skin, large pores, freckles, wrinkles and all the defects on your face this cushion will cover perfectly. I love it so so much but unfortunately now I can find it on store or even online. Is it stop producing??? If yes is so sad. Maybeline cushion is very nice, when apply this cushion I just apply one type and lipstick for makeup I not even use foundation and concealer.
This is a surprisingly excellent foundation! It is a buildable foundation that can be applied lightly for a sheer tint or it can be built up to medium coverage. This foundation has a satin finish with a slight luminosity. If you prefer a more matte finish, you can set this foundation with powder. This foundation has a very skin-like finish and it looks very natural. I have very dry skin and this foundation does not emphasize dry areas or look cakey. It wears well throughout the day. It does not wear off or breakdown, especially if it is lightly set with powder. I am so impressed with this foundation and I prefer it over most of the high-end foundations I own. Ahhh the Korean trend has reached the western makeup trend. Other brands have already attempted the cushion although for drugstore brands, L'Oréal was one of the first ones that released a product. It was ok, nothing spectacular and not really that great in comparison to the Korean brands. To be honest the product is great for what it is. Sure there's bacterial infection, but what product doesn't have any? Even pump products have some! Although the price tag for this product ranges from $10-16 depending on sales and location of purchase, including the fact that the amount of product is very small in comparison to the approximate typical sized 1 fluid ounce. Because of the smaller amount given, it is used up a lot faster. Eliminating the high amount of bacterial exposure because less product is added. The compact is small and travel friendly which is a perk for those who are on the go and don't really like those cream or powder compacts that might not be suitable for them. Also the color range is pretty wide and the product gives a natural full coverage effect. I personally prefer a more light to medium coverage which this product allows for with a small amount. There's no smell to the product that is detectable and the sponge has foundation evenly distributed. Some of the things I wish maybelline did better is to improve the sponge/puff that is included. I have switched it out for a Korean brand puff because this one sucks. I've heard of others whom have used their brushes and beauty blenders and have worked better but it defeats the purpose of "on the go" when you shouldn't have to bring those beauty tools with you as well. Would've been smart if maybelline to be like innisfree, tony moly, etude house, etc and made cases and pop in cushions. They could come out with really nice sleek cases and limited edition ones which would garter lots of money as well as have the cushion itself in multiple shades and finishes on sale as well. That way the customer can "customize" what they want and it's also a cheaper method when they want to refill thier cases. They just need to pop in the refill and it would be simple. This is especially great for those who want to pop in different finishes per the occasion or even pop in a different shade because of the time of year. Darker in summer and lighter in winter seasons kinda deal. Maybelline could totally reach a larger audience with an expanded line that could win over lots of consumers. After buying one case that the consumers see fit they can just refill on the product hence a "cheaper" method of purchase but also being able to get them to buy more things from the brand. It's still early to say that they won't do this in the future, but hopefully they can catch up the Korean beauty brands and expand their shade ranges and finishes for the rest of us here waiting patiently.
Seriously the only foundation that works for me that does not break me out. I just bought 6 of them online the last stock I can find because it took me 2 years to finally find this foundation that isn’t too matte isn’t too dewy (I have oily acne prone skin with texture) this makeup looks like my skin but better with out worsening the problems mentioned above... only reason for 4 starts instead of 5 is it that it is not quite light enough for me, i think it oxidizes because at first it looks doable but later it looks different than my neck but I don’t care I correct with powder or pull it down my neck! Literally no other fohndation looks so nice and natural yet flawless on my skin with out causing irritation, clogged pores etc. Well now L’Oreal has gone and taken ... MoreSeriously the only foundation that works for me that does not break me out. It makes me not want to buy any of their products including sister lines which look it up they own everything and since they bought out all theee companies good products are going down hill... but anyways not sure why they did this.. it has majority good reviews And was alwyss sold out in the stores I went to Especially my shade so idk that must tell you something. But it seems Korean make up trends like cuShion foundation are not going anywhere so why get rid of it. I’m so upset .FYI down below it says select your skin type you should be able to select more than one. I am sensitive, combination, oily, and blemish acne prone and this foundation was perfect to correct and not worsen all those skincare issues! And FYI all your other foundations literally make all of those skin issues worse in one way or another .... stop putting fragerance in your products it’s sensitizing everyone to not be able to wear your products when they’re my age! I work in dermatology and we all know it’s awful for your skin!
I received this for free for testing purposes, but all opinions are my own! I am honestly so happy that I received this in a VoxBox because I was planning on purchasing it anyway. I am a huge fan of Maybelline and have been wanting to try out cushion foundation for a while. THIS PRODUCT IS AMAZING. At first, I didn't really like the applicator that it comes with, but now that I've used it for a little, I understand that it really is the best way to apply the foundation. Instead of just patting it on the face (which can leave the mark of the applicator), I like to use a patting and almost rolling motion to use it. After using it that way, application was flawless. Typically, I've been using a damp beauty sponge too, to get in the harder to reach spots like near my nose and eyes. I would say it gives medium coverage, but you can easily build it up to full coverage and it still looks so natural and beautiful. I hate foundations that look cakey and like makeup! This one is so different because it lets your skin shine through and really just makes it look like your skin, but better! It gives a natural finish, definitely not too dewey like other cushion foundations, but not matte. I am using shade 20 in Classic Ivory and topped it with my Fit Me concealer in Light, which blended into the foundation like a dream. My favorite part about this foundation is how it feels because it feels like you have nothing on your skin, even to the touch! It is so light, but gives coverage! It could be used for everyday or built up for a night out, and is so easy to travel with! This is the best foundation and I highly, highly recommend it!
