I'm not really sure what I think about this mascara. I had a sample of it about 6 months ago and I loved it so much. Okay, listen. I used to use the Tarte “Lights, Camera, Splashes” mascara (which is $25 btw). THIS MASCARA BLOWS THAT ONE OUT OF THE WATER. The waterproof formula is literally the BEST one I have ever used! I have very oily skin so I have a LOT of issues with transfer - but not with this. The only reason I took off one star is because I absolutely HATE the brush. The bristles are way too short and soft in my opinion. Makes it really hard to separate the lashes and really get in the doors. If it had a different brush it would be 100x better, but I’m gonna keep buying it anyways. Heads up: this is very hard to remove UNLESS you use an oil. I use the e.l.f. cleansing balm to remove it and it comes right off; water-based makeup removers WILL NOT WORK.

The only non waterproof mascara that I have tried that really holds a curl! I have naturally long lashes that are on the straight side so skipping the lash curler is a big fat no. Waterproof formulas hold shape better than regular formulas but I don’t like doing that to my lashes all the time (they also always transfer to my brow bone bc oily skin) so this has been a miracle! A new fresh tube is absolutely incredible but it dries out surprisingly fast and the formula starts to get disappointing from there. Pros: - Strangely good formula right off the bat from a fresh tube. Stumbled upon this mascara with a lip gloss kit they had at CVS around Black Friday. Was planning to use it as a back up but tried it and was completely shocked. First of all, upon application it looked incredible!! Almost like false lashes. Two coats and it was literally amazing. Not thick and clumpy but glossy and long. Wore it all day and didn’t sting my eyes or crumble and itch my eyes. Then when I remove it it seems to leave my eyelashes looking longer!! AND it doesn’t leave black residue all over my eyes and under eyes that doesn’t come off. I can sleep in it and look totally fine in the morning. I am hoping they sell this outside of the package I bought. A little surprised how many people like this mascara. I've been into brown mascara lately, and the color drew me in at first. It's a nice brown color but I hate the formula. I do have thinner lashes so I like length and volume from my mascara. This only adds length, and is a very wet application. It clumps lashes together into thin twigs, even when multiple coats are applied. I tried building it up, tried letting it dry between coats and I find it's just not for me. Wand is also VERY flexible, which is nice for getting into the outer corners but wasn't my favorite. Wouldn't purchase again.

The tube I bought about two weeks ago has nothing in it. I had to go back to using the one that I was going to throw away. I wrote the company and crickets. Not even an acknowledgment of my email. I recommended this product to all my friends as it was recommended to me by a make up artist who wears it as a daily mascara. What a disappointment. This tube was not the only one, another one of my friends had the same issue. It would be nice if the mascara tubes were clear so custo,ears could actually see if there was product in the tube. I have used waterproof mascaras for many years to help hold the curl in my naturally stick-straight lashes. Non-waterproof mascaras have water in them and that will pull the curl out immediately. You can either curl your lashes, then put on mascara, or put it on and let it dry, then use a heated metal eyelash comb to separate and lift the eyelashes (just be careful to angle slightly out from your eyelid). The problem with most waterproof formulas is that they contain disteardimonium hectorite (basically clay) which makes them flake into your eyes as they dry out. I have lost count of the times I had to stop wearing my contacts because the flakes caused minor scratches in my corneas and they were too irritated for lenses.
