I was excited to receive the Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Sky High Tinted Primer Mascara in Soft Black. The bottle itself looks cute and appealing. I don’t normally shop this brand because I really like Laura Geller, but this is a great drugstore find. It separates your lashes pretty well and doesn’t feel heavy. It cleaned off nicely at the end of the day and didn’t clump. I might consider re-buying for those reasons. I’m grateful to Influenster for letting me give my honest feedback about it in exchange for the product. I definitely felt like my eyes popped because of this.

My eyelashes are naturally thick and long, and I rarely wear mascara. HOWEVER! The Lash Sensational Sky High Primer is tinted. And my eyelashes are not uniformly colored, which occasionally, in the past, has inspired me to wish that I could MAKE them uniformly colored without having to apply a clumpy coat of mascara. I will say, though, that the advertised lengthening effect of this primer in particular did seem a bit muted, which could be a bummer if you wanted to use it for its intended purpose.

I've never tried a tinted primer on my lashes, only just mascaras. This could be used on its own and looks good on its own. I love Maybelline products and their Mascaras especially the Sky High. I tried this and my picture is just of this product and looks lashtastic. But I also use a coat of the regular Mascara usually with this. It lasts all day and looks amazing and I feel like my eyes look great even when I'm just wearing a bit of this and nothing else. It can feel kinda goopy and you want to make sure you spread those lashes so they don't clump together but once you get it spread out, it looks great. Compared to when I use mascara alone, when used in addition to my mascara this product was good at adding volume to my smaller lashes. I didn’t notice much difference in length than what my usual mascara provides. I only use 2 coats of the primer and 1 coat of the mascara, which is considerably less than usual. My lashes feel considerably softer when I use this product. The one downside to this product was that my lashes didn’t hold their curl as well with it. They were a lot straighter. I can never get away with my mascara in a no makeup look because it always looks too dramatic. This primer adds a bit of volume and length that looks natural when used solo. The brush is nice and narrow, making it easy to get close to the base of my lashes. I always struggle with giant bushy brushes. Something to be aware of is that product tends to gather at the tip of the brush. I usually just dab it off before applying mascara and I’ve had no issues. Overall I only gave it 4/5 because I love the softness it adds to my lashes, and the no makeup look I can achieve with it, but I’m disappointed that it straightens my lashes. I intend to continue losing this product for specific looks, using it solo for no makeup natural looks, and with mascara to add extra drama and volume.

I found this new primer at my local target store. It's priced at $10. New and improved tinted eyelash primer. The applicator brush bends like the sky high mascara does, seperates lashes perfectly! Doesnt clump and flake off. I let it dry a little before apply the sky high mascara. This definitely gives lashes a huge volume boost , lashes are full, lightweight, and makes the lashes look so good ! Gives a dramatic lash ! Im in love with this primer!

I've been an avid user of mascara primer for the last couple of years. I've used a lot of different brands, but katwky been using the Essence primer with their mascara. I was excited to try out a tinted primer since most primers are white. This went on really smooth ! I let it dry and then applied my essence mascara. My mascara didn't budge at all during the day (no flaking or anything). This was also perfect for under eyes. I would almost use this as an everyday mascara since it's light weight and has the perfect amount of color for my skin tone. Definitely will rebuy this.

Primer didn’t smudge or flake off. Downside - Does not hold a curl. Flattens my lashes immediately after applying. In the photo my lashes are flat and they catch in my bangs when flat. I like a curl. Under mascara: I use Tartelette Tubing Mascara and put a coat of this under. One coat gave super volume, almost to point of being too much volume.for daytime. However this flattens your lashes immediately- made my lash curler a useless exercise. No hard rubbing. Is it nice? Yes. Would I buy again, no.

As far as drugstore makeup brands, go, I have always trusted Maybelline to give me luxury quality on a budget. I have very short eyelashes, and have to rely on mascara to lengthen and curl these lashes. Upon using this primer, my lashes were more full, lengthened, and curled. I didn’t even have to use another mascara. In fact, I have had a better looking lashes with this product and then with any other mascara I have ever used. I will definitely be purchasing this product in the future. The pictures I posted show a before and after. The first picture was after the first application and the second picture shows how my lashes look 12 hours later.

I’m very skeptical when it comes to most mascara products because they usually never work for me. This tinted primer WOW’d me. My initial thought was how good my lashes looked before I even put mascara on. The primer alone looked beautiful. My mascara complimented the primer flawlessly. My favorite part was that it was so easy to rinse off. Normally it takes forever to rinse off my mascara by itself. It didn’t flake at all in the 8 hours I wore it! Normally my mascara flakes/runs after a couple hours. The primer kept everything in place. Love this stuff.

This is a really good primer. It can be worn both alone or with a mascara overlay. It looks natural on its own, very light. If you so wear a mascara over it, make sure the product dries completely before applying it. I wore it both with and without mascara and liked both results. The brush is a good length and the bristles are gentle and does a great job with coating and lengthening your lashes. It’s worth it! I’ll be buying this in the future!
