Bad news on the caddy. It did not perform as well as the tupperware container I previously used. I was plagued with fruit flies as soon as I started using the caddy. I have given u pon the caddy and am using the container from my christmas tree lights. It has a much better seal and I no longer have fruit flies! The caddy however is fine for storing grandchildren's toys.

I bought this a month ago with the recommended accelerant spray. I put it use straight away with some vegetable waste, following the instructions. Today I went to put some more kitchen waste in, and when I opened it, smelled strongly of rotten eggs. I almost vomited.

its convenient and not an eye sore on the kitchen bench..lock and seal isn't the best but still does the job.The bio-degradable bags fit well in it , even a 34L Liner can fit in the 7L caddy.Problem with the bags " being degradable, they get wet very quick so don't collect food scraps for 3 days or more. you also need to clean the bin every time you change the liner.still worth having, smaller caddy the better due to the bags..

This compost caddy is excellent. Being plastic it is easy to clean and light to carry. The lid shuts firmly shutting out any smells and then with a rinse out and left to air, there are no residue smells. I haven't used the compost bags as there's no need.
Our workplace was throwing a LOT of green waste into the general rubbish, so I bought two of these bins to encourage my colleagues to donate their food scraps to ME! Even with the office being closed during lockdown, I have filled a 240 litre compost bin at home with bucket loads of waste from the office. I took one star off, because if the compost caddy is full the handle can unclip itself due to the weight of the contents. It happened to me twice, and it's embarrassing when it happens on a city bus, heading for home.On another review (for the caddy + bin liners) a user gave it 1 star because it "let in" fruit flies...dear reader - empty your caddy regularly! Fruit flies are not a design fault of the compost caddy in my opinion.
I purchased this item approx 1 month ago and I am extremely happy with it as it fits very well into the Kitchen and doesn't look out of place. Also looks attractive. When you peel carrots and parsnips, you can put them place straight into the green bag liner. Once this is full, you can take to the bigger compost bin outside. The green bag then breaks down which is great for the environment!
I don't really get the liners...but the caddy is brilliant. Bigger (and loads better looking than an ice cream container on the bench), and the handle makes it easy to walk down to the compost bin without dropping the lot :D
I bought this caddy a little while ago and absolutely love it. The lid fits firmly on the base, it doesn’t seal shut, but makes life easier when my hands are full and my little finger can open the lid, comfortably. Don’t have to worry about thrips, etc, all waste is secure in the bucket. Sits nice on my kitchen bench as well. Easy to clean!
Small and handy compost bin. Just the right size for a week's compost. Easy to use and empty when it is full.The only bit that disappoints me and that may not be issue with this bin itself and that is it catches lot of water vapor on top of lid (Inside of lid) and wondering if future if it is going to make it stinky.Otherwise really good product.
