Cant miss with the buttons. Ive got my Reverb G2 hooked up to this so I can just hit it and on It goes. This is my 3rd one as the second one I purchased failed. Mainly due to some operator error inserting a device in a hurry and on an angle. Broke input 1. Used it for another 6 months then forgot and inserted a device into one and it shorted the whole hub. PC and gear are fine.

I had purchased a HP Elitebook 1040 base station and need the extra ports fore USB3.0 connections to pultiple WD and Seagate drives. The individual power switche for each port is great - it lets me manage trhe drives easily. Having 4 USB 3.0 and 3 USB 2.0 ports is luxury, and great value for money.

The ports no longer working, disconnected the power source, changed usb port on the PC, swapped the usb devices around but to no avail. I am out of warranty so can only gnash my teeth in frustration and try and find a better long lasting product

The 4 USB 3 ports are working as expected, but the 3 USB 2 ports don't work at all, with either USB 2 or 3 devices. Changing the USB source port and even changing computers does not resolve this. This has been from first receiving the hub. I have had it for about a week. The individual switches for the USB ports prove to be more annoying than useful. It is difficult to insert a USB device without accidentally turning on or off other USB ports. This is because the hub is too light to be able to plug in a device without holding it with the other hand and the switches are situated by the top edge so it is hard to avoid touching a switch when plugging in a new device.Overall, not a great design apart from the deal-breaking problem of the USB 2 ports not ... MoreThe 4 USB 3 ports are working as expected, but the 3 USB 2 ports don't work at all, with either USB 2 or 3 devices. Great for adding multiple USB 3 memory stick/thumb drives. However do NOT expect it to work with a logitech webcam, even on a USB 2 port, nor should you expect Bluetooth or wireless USB devices to work on this hub. I bought this to replace my very ancient D-Link 7 port USB 2 hub and it works fine with my USB 3 storage devices but seems to have very limited backwards compatibility with USB 2 devices.
The product itself is brilliant, individual on/off switches for each port, lighted numbers to indicate when a port is live, compact size, easy to use. The USB cord is hard wired in, which isn't a bad thing, but it does mean the cord will always be on the left hand side of the device which may not suit everyone.I can't give it 5 stars because of the way it was packaged; the USB cord was tied in a bundle and practically folded on itself to fit in the blister packet. When I took the tie off the cord hardly unfolded it was that tight. I did try to straighten the cord by gently bending it but chickened out because I didn't want to break any wires. Even now the USB cord will only work if I pull it to one side while it's plugged into my computer, push it to the other ... MoreThe product itself is brilliant, individual on/off switches for each port, lighted numbers to indicate when a port is live, compact size, easy to use. This is frustrating because broken connections only get worse, and if it was packaged properly there wouldn't be a problem and this would be a great product.Length of power cord: 1200mmLength of USB cord: 930mmUSB ports are on 24mm centres
I have WAY to many razer products and so little usb ports! This works perfect. There are alot of hubs that will be super buggy (from experience) nothing yet with this hub! Definitely grabbing another one
I purchased this device to free up some ports on my laptop, and because all the ports on the mBeat are powered - i.e., they don't load up my laptop's Power Supply. The 4 USB 3.0 and 3 USB 2.0 ports are a great balance. Surprisingly USB 2.0 is still required for some devices - including my modern 3D Connexions 3D Mouse.Mighty Ape's attention to detail and delivery of my order impressed greatly. I could track my purchase all the way from store to home on my phone or lappy. Fantastic.Very pleased I purchased the mBeat USB Hub from Mighty Ape. Thanks, you monkeys!
I bought one of these to upgrade from my basic Belkin 4 port USB 2.0 Hub. I installed it via one of my USB 3.0 ports and then started adding devices to the ports as per type i.e. 3.0 to 3.0, 2.0 to 2.0. It proved to be very flunky. Devices would connect then disappear, stop talking to each other (and never worked 3.0 speeds) or otherwise stop working haphazardly. I also found the on/off switches to easy to accidentally turn off when handling the device. I went back to scratch, reconnected my devices, but this time USB 3.0 devices to my computer's own 3.0 ports, and 2.0 devices to the Belkin and mBeat Hub 2.0 ports. Everything worked fine and continues to do so. So it fails pretty much completely as a 3.0 Hub, but works as a 2.0 only hub. Pretty disappointing.
This unit comes with a 5A power adaptor. but the best it can do is 500mA over the USB 2.0 ports, and about 100mA over the USB 3.0 ports. It only supplies this while all the unused ports are switched off. It is fast! But if you need to charge devices, look elsewhere.
