I have one inverted nipple and one flat nipple so I wasnt able to get my little boy to latch on at all before finding these! Great nipple shields, and the only ones I’ve found that have had the correct size for me. I’ve tried some other brands but as they didnt have any smaller sizes breastfeeding became really painful so I had to pump and bottle feed instead, which was so time consuming. After getting the medela nipple covers I’ve been able to breastfeed and nipples arent as sore! Very happy with my purchase, so my husband got me a second pair as I am relying on these for breastfeeding. As mentioned, they dont stay on when baby is waving his arms or grabbing them, but they are easy to put back on and they do stay on by themselves unless baby interferes!

When my baby was born he latched straight away, then I was told by midwives in hospital to give my baby formula as they presumed he wasn't getting anything from my breast. As soon as I gave baby the bottle, he never latched again and physically repels and screams until he's red in the face, at the breast. I would try him at every feed and he would do the same thing everytime and initially I gave up hope. Then I was recommended nipple shields and no word of a lie, with these nipple shields my baby now latches. I'm so glad to have found a breakthrough. I am 9 days PP so hopefully we won't have to use the nipple shields one day but these have completely saved my breastfeeding journey. I will be recommending these to everybody I know. Thank you Medela! <3

I'm currently expecting our second child and this is the first thing I've purchased in anticipation of her arrival. They live alongside my hospital notes because they're that important to me! Our first child struggled to latch after she was born and I had fortunately packed some medela shields (because I thought there was a high possibility we'd struggle because of the way my breasts are shaped). She latched straight away with them and we continued to breast feed using them until she was 6 months old. I found them easy and never experienced pain using them. She gobbled up the milk with no issue gaining weight easily. Does exactly what you need

I bought these nipple shields after using Ardo shields in the hospital. I found the medela shields stay in place much better and they are a bit sturdier than the Ardo shields. I much prefer my Medela shields and the little carry case just makes it that much easier to keep them clean and keep track of them, clear plastic items are so easily lost!

Excellent tool
14 February 2022

I’ve had a slightly preterm, sleepy jaundice baby who wouldn’t latch. Paired with my flat nipples this meant that we had to introduce formula 7 hours after birth. Medela products have been instrumental in getting our breastfeeding goals back on track. I used these shields to enable the latch and itgey have worked wonders (though not immediately - we were dealing with a very sleepy baby!). However once my daughter was strong and awake enough, she really took to these shields and it meant that we are still breastfeeding at 4.5 months old. These shields have a nice shape allowing some skin contact and they feel quite soft (unlike another brand I’ve tried). The box is a nice bonus if you want to get out and about.

Great nipple shields
25 October 2022

The shields are good quality and I’ve still given 5 stars even though they don’t always stay attached because that doesn’t really matter. The shape means the nose and upper lip are contact with the breast and so don’t have to keep checking the shield is covering my daughters nose which happens a lot with the shields that are a circular design. The case is great and compact , would recommend and I have purchased 2more since I bought these ones. Very happy with my purchase.

Great product
20 June 2021

Was having trouble breastfeeding with baby latching and the associated pain. This really helped to ease the pain and discomfort until baby was able to get the hang of latching. Material was thin enough for baby to continue to feed as normal and at the same time protect the nipple from being sore and further bleeding. It came with a plastic case so once sterilised it could be place into baby bag for travel use.

Excedeed my expectations! The size M is a bit bigger than I thought, but eventhough it's super confortable. I don't feel the pain when the baby starts to nurse.I definitly recommend it!

These Medela shields are a lifesaver. Especially when my nipples were starting to get chapped and sore. The thin layer of silicone protection makes all the difference while baby can still experience the breast. Wished Baby Bunting outlined on their site how to choose which size shield from small, medium, large. You'll have to go on the Medela site to find that out.
