Absolute nursing necessity!!!

I received this black Medela nursing tank as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and I’m SO glad I did!!! This is by far the best nursing tank top I’ve owned. It blew me away in every aspect: comfort, practicality, attractiveness, and function. First of all, they were right to name this the Comfy Cami - it truly is so comfortable, it almost feels like I’m not wearing anything at all. The fabric is stretchy yet supportive with a very slight compression, which shapes but doesn’t feel tight at all. The straps are stretchy as well so they don’t dig into your shoulders. It’s long enough to cover your whole torso, and it doesn’t ever ride up. As far as practicality and function go, it’s a winner in those categories too. This is the only nursing tank I’ve had that can truly claim it has a one-handed clip. The other ones seem to still take two hands because the placement of the clip is too high or the straps are too tight, but this one is perfect. Since the straps are so stretchy, you can truly reach the hook all the way up to where it’s supposed to go without any trouble at all. The elastic doesn’t seem to be wearing out because of this, either. It’s held up extremely well, even after several months of washing and wearing really often. Finally, I’d just like to comment on how attractive this cami looks. It has an amazingly flattering neckline that scoops down without being too revealing. I’ve already mentioned how nice the compression is, so it gives you a nice clean line whether you wear it on its own or underneath something else. Mostly importantly, the removable breast pads are not obnoxiously huge and noticeable! They are just as absorbent as the others I have but are thin and indistinguishable in the tank. Furthermore, the clips are pretty flat and they tend to disappear under another shirt as well. This tank is all around a must-have if you’re a nursing or pregnant mama, and I’ll definitely be stocking up with a few more in other colors!

I loved that it had padding in it as well giving you a more discreet look if you chose to wear without a bra. Even the shirt part itself is nice a stretchy yet it is still firm with each wash. I definitely recommend this top as it’s super comfortable and easy to use for nursing. The straps are easy to clip on and clip off for easy and discrete feeding. The only thing I wish were different about the straps were if they were more convertible meaning I could do a crisscross back with with it but it’s definitely not a deal breaker.

I had the opportunity to try black which is a great base for many layering opportunities. I also liked the the "bra" portion was less of a traditional built-in, but still had the cup inserts for support - I think this style contributed to comfort. The cups were also a nice thickness and material that it prevented nipple show-through which is important in the postpartum/nursing stage. I wore a size medium which transitioned well from pregnancy to postpartum, especially as my breast size became larger with engorgement. The one downside to the style of the top is that I felt it was very low cut and without and over-layer, I would not feel comfortable wearing only the cami out in public. The snaps were easy to undo for breastfeeding and easy to re-secure when done. The other drawback I have with this top is it's washability. The top pilled with washing and lost some of its smoothness.

Comfy nursing cami for underneath
13 October 2019

The Medela Comfy Cami, which I got to try out thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel, uses a really nice sturdy yet stretchy fabric that makes for a comfortable nursing cami for underneath clothes. Though I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing it on its own, it seems well suited for underneath just about any shirt. I liked wearing is on top of a nursing bra so that I had more support. I do feel that it could have supported and shaped better -- while it would have been more supportive and shaping before baby, after baby I would have liked more support and more shaping. I also wish the neckline was higher so that I felt more comfortable and modest. That said, its function as a nursing cami is great. Easy access to the clips, and easy to pull down and snap back up. ... MoreThe Medela Comfy Cami, which I got to try out thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel, uses a really nice sturdy yet stretchy fabric that makes for a comfortable nursing cami for underneath clothes. I also wish the neckline was higher so that I felt more comfortable and modest. That said, its function as a nursing cami is great. Easy access to the clips, and easy to pull down and snap back up. The only complaint about the clips is that they are at the exact same level as where my baby likes to nuzzle in his head, so I worried about them scratching him. The clips are nice and thick though and easy to quickly clip off and on. The fabric feels comfortable and soft. It's also not bulky at all, so you can wearing it under just about anything. It did ride up on the bottom, but the cami is nice and long, so if I tucked it in under jeans, it was fine. I prefer to wear natural fibers at night, but if you like wearing stretchy clothes and night, this cami would work well for that. I ended up taking the pads out because when you're holding a baby, it's more work to deal with putting them back in properly, but it's nice to have the pads to keep everything inside. Overall, a great cami to have while you're nursing. It's from a brand I trust to make good products, and seems like it will last for a very long time. You can even use it when you are done nursing!

Good but not great
4 November 2019

I was excited to try the Medela Comfy Cami since I'm in my third trimester of pregnancy and plan to nurse this little one after his/her arrival. I love the concept of an article of clothing that can be worn during pregnancy and still be used afterward and look good during both phases. The cami itself was nice and long and very stretchy to cover a growing bump. The way it's cut and the ruching at the bust was also flattering and didn't show too much cleavage. Unfortunately though, the material it's made out of was not very breathable so it felt too warm and it would roll up at the bottom if I did anything other than stand in one spot. I'm hoping the rolling will stop postpartum as my belly gets back to its normal size because it's a comfortable top otherwise. I haven't used it for nursing yet but the clips seem pretty standard to other similar nursing camis with easy open and close. The straps are comfortable but made of an elastic material that I don't know how well they will hold up over time and were hard to adjust when it was on. Overall, I wouldn't say there's much that stands out about this cami compared to others I have tried. I think it could be greatly improved with a more baby bump supportive material that is also moisture wicking and/or breathable and more durable straps. Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me this cami to try and review.

Nice but not for every woman
6 November 2019

Initially I really liked this nursing cami. It is a thin, soft and comfortable spandex material that fit pretty well and snug at first. After wearing it for a few hours I started noticing some issues. The cami doesn’t offer enough support for a larger bust woman. I am a DD and there isn’t enough support in the bust area and the cami sags down. I had to keep readjusting the straps tighter but after awhile it would stretch out again. Once this happened the elastic edge at the top of the bust would dig into my bust which was very uncomfortable. Another small issue is the cami would bunch and ride up at my midsection while moving around so I kept having to pull it down. Not a deal breaker just a small annoyance. The clasps were a nice sturdy plastic material and worked well while nursing. The nursing flap folded down nicely and didn’t bunch up. Due to the thin spandex material I wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing this out and about without a cover. I did wear it under a T-shirt on multiple occasions. Overall, I think this cami would be perfect for a smaller bust woman. I would also highly suggest ordering a size up as this does run small. A big thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me this cami to try and review.

Despite the size discrepancy I was determined to give this nursing Cami a shot. The fabric feels absolutely amazing. It is so soft and has a great stretch to it all well. I have no doubt this would feel natural to wear all day long, and it would be amazing to sleep in as well. The length is just right to cover the top of my jeans which is helpful post partum when trying to get back into your normal jeans that may not quite button yet. The straps are well made, they are sturdy yet soft and flexible as well. The best reason for this cami is that it is for nursing and that is where I feel this really fails. You cannot unhook a cup one handed. There is one flimsy strap attached on either side to the bottom of the cup to the latch at the end of the shoulder strap. When you try to unlatch the hook there is no resistance so your other hand is necessary to steady the latch and unhook the cup. Also on the inside of the cami where a ribbed band separates the top portion from the bottom there is some bunching on the inside seam. Although this fabric is super soft after wearing it for hours people that are pressure sensitive may end up with a painful impression on their skin below the breasts.I have nursed all seven of my children and I know with a little more thought and practical testing Medela could make this Cami top notch, but it's not there yet.

Another thing I liked was the supportive straps. They are on the wide side and very sturdy. With washing, I didn’t experience any tangling, which was a big annoyance in other brands I’ve worn in the past. It’s also a thick material, so it provides a nice shaping effect and is supportive.Overall I liked this cami and can see its use for nursing as well, even though for testing I’m not at that phase yet (still pregnant), however my preference for fit is a cotton, more loose fitting cami. This one was a bit tight (also due to receiving maybe a size smaller than needed), and I felt a little squeezed in. That’s more personal preference, but if you like it a little less squeezy, I would size up.

Super soft and comfortable

I was given this cami to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I have been searching for quite some time now for a comfortable cami that provides support and allows easy nursing access. If I choose to wear a cami for more coverage, I lose the support of having a bra. The good news is that the Medela Comfy Cami nailed it! The soft, smooth, and seamless design and material is exactly what I need and prefer when breastfeeding at home. It is incredibly comfortable. I love the fabric because it helps keep me cool. This is important because breastfeeding can sometimes cause baby and I to get really hot. The sizing is perfect because it is tight enough to feel together and supported but not too tight to cause me to fit uncomfortable and restricted. The drop cups are a must have and make nursing super easy. My favorite nursing position is the side-lying position and it would be incredibly difficult to do so without drop cups or if the material was too rigid. The versatility really allows me to wear the cami anytime during the day or all night. I was very impressed with the one-handed open feature of the strap clips. We have all been there with a screaming hungry baby in one arm and you only have one free arm to unclip your bra and start nursing. I have tried many nursing bras and this is the first that truly allows me to open and close with one hand. The downside of this cami is that sometimes the bottom rolls up. I would prefer a reinforced band at the bottom of the cami to prevent that. For this reason, I am not so sure if I would wear it under clothing layers in public. Also, the foam pads that are in the bra lining are not that great and may fold or wrinkle after extended use.

Wrong size
4 January 2023

I have bought 2 bras in Germany in the drug store in DM. The size doesn’t match at all, it’s too small. I wear 36 but I took 38 and bras are very small and very tight, maybe if you have size xs, then 38 size M will be okay for you. The next thing is fabric, it’s awful, it’s just some synthetic cloth. I don’t now how the skin is able “to breathe” when you wear such cloth. Absolutely ridiculous! This bra doesn’t cost that money 20 €! I will throw it away in the garage. I even will not give it to anyone because it’s a shame. I will not buy any of your products. Because it may be that you buy a cat in a sack. 41€ just in a trash can. Because it’s impossible to give the bras back.
