I purchased this pump after my gynaecologist, midwife, lactation consultant, our baby's paediatrician all recommended this brand. It's much less uncomfortable than my other cheaper pump. It doesn't have as high suction power but because it does the job with less suction, that doesn't really matter. I wish it was battery rechargeable but nevertheless you can use it on standard AA batteries as well as with mains power. You can find them half price as second hand so I'd say give it a go

I purchased a pump from another company ready for the birth of my baby it was fiddly to put together and hardly pumped any milk. Then I purchased another pump from another company and it was constantly coming apart during pumps which resulted in loss of suction and spilt milk. So I send it back and purchased a medela pump, it's been absolutely brilliant, my supply has increased, its easy to clean and put together. I would highly recommend.

Awful

Really unhappy with this product. It simply does not work. The suction is so weak that it doesn’t draw any milk out. I had a lactation expert at the hospital double check it was assembled correctly which she confirmed it was; but she said although some hospitals use Medela products - this newer unit was useless and she recommended a different brand which has been amazing. Don’t waste your money on this one. I cannot send it back for a refund, only to send it off for ‘inspection’ to determine whether it’s faulty or not, I’ve not got the time to box it up and send it off - a total waste of money.

Brilliant breast pump!

I have been using the Medela Swing Maxi Flex Double Pump for just over a month now and I can honestly say it has made expressing so much easier, and a lot quicker! I have only ever used a single breast pump previously, with both my children, and whilst it was good, I can definitely see a difference with using this double pump. The different settings are also great to control the flow of milk. The noise is actually a lot quieter than previous pumps I have used too, which is a real bonus. It is very easy to take apart and clean, there aren't too many pieces to sterilise. Something I have never seen with other breast pumps are the stands for the bottles to sit in, they are a brilliant idea. I was always dubious about buying this product due to the price, however after a few weeks of using I can see why it is at the price it is. It is worth every penny. I would definitely recommend this to other mums wanting to express, especially those short on time. It has really helped me when I have needed to express milk for my son, and I will continue to use it when I return to work.

Brilliant pump

I bought this pump when my baby was 3 weeks old just to express one bottle for my husband to help with feeding. I have since moved onto exclusively expressing due to issues with latch and I'm so thankful that I bought this one as it's very efficient and works well - I get 4-5oz each side and pump 4 times per day! After reading reviews, I bought rechargeable batteries so that I can move around, look after my toddler, do the washing or laundry whilst I'm expressing which is really helpful. It's difficult to hold my baby whilst expressing due to the bottle positioning but the price for in-bra alternatives is so much higher and initially I was unsure as to how much I would use it hence the decision.

Brilliant pump by noisy!

Pros:- empties breast well and works well following the hiring of the hospital grade pump- relatively hands free- easy to clean- neat tubing and connectors are more flush to the bottle than the hospital grade one- good memory function- brilliant customer service and fast deliveryCons:- noisy compared to hospital grade- light on the top can wake baby when pumping in the night- battery life is poor, normal batteries only give 3 pumps so you need rechargeable and then to charge them frequently- bulky pump so not very discreetOverall a great pump with a few cons which I hope medela address. I'd still recommend the pump as it expresses well.

Constant replacements needed

Very disappointed with the durability of the so called ‘consumerable parts’. Bought this double pump on 17th October 2022 for just under £200 and the flex connectors needed replacing by late November, then those needed replacing by beginning of March 2023 - despite following all correct cleaning and care instructions. They’re always out of stock on website so I’m left unable to express. Would expect at least 4-6 months out of ‘consumerable’ item. Constant expense, upkeep and inconvenience in less than 5 months of use. Vintages Medela who replaced the 1st lot of connectors but wouldn’t help with the second set. Not good enough

Great little breast pump

I bought this pump after hiring a Medela symphony from the hospital as I did not want to hire one long term. I was worried that it would be less powerful/not pump as much milk/take a long time to pump the same amount however I was pleasantly surprised. It is exactly what I needed, small enough, comfortable, easy to assemble/disassemble to clean and sterilise and not too noisy. Powerful enough that I was able to pump 150ml in about 20 minutes expressing on both sides at the same time. Also love the bottle stands which stop any accidental spillages - whoever said dont cry over spilled milk has clearly never spilled expressed breast milk.

Revolutionised my life

I love this pump! I am exclusively pumping to breast feed by now 5 week old baby and used this from the first day my milk came in. I was trying to use a manual pump and was in absolute agony. I sent my husband out to get this and it’s changed my life. You 100% need the hands free bras and I recommend investing in some rechargeable batteries but provided you do your research on building milk supply and maximising your pumping experience there is no reason this shouldn’t work for you. Take it from someone pumping every 2 hours- I’m getting 120ml per boob each time!There’s more compact and quieter pumps on the market but unless you want to spend 500quid I wholeheartedly recommend

Very noisy

It's a really nice pump but not as good as the ardo in terms of features and strength.What I really like is that it's compact and takes batteries. (unlike the ardo which is very big) It's easy to use on the go. Can get it into the rucksack easy. However very noisy. Have used it in the car while parked up.( Goodness only knows what people thought I was doing). Another thing which is great is it vibrates so much it gets my little one to sleep when placed in her crib you can feel the whole thing shake slightly.. It has got essential two jobs now in our house. However for the size and what it is its over priced in my opinion. If it wasn't so noisy and had the cycle function like the ardo would have given it 5 *
