Purchased online on sale without trying on in store as there were none in stock anywhere locally. Firstly, these are specifically designed for people with flat feet and no arches. See the pronation notes. So if you have normal feet then they are probably not the right ones for you. You can take out the very thin inner sole and replace it. As their website states:"...also suitable for use with orthotics."Only problem is most orthotics would be well and truly thicker than the supplied inner sole so the overall fit would be impacted. Maybe you would need an extra half a size.Like any shoe they require some getting used to. Give me 6 months and I may be a huge fan but maybe the Walkride would have been a better choice. The 2E sizing is okay as it gives you space to wiggle your toes. I am sure they a great shoe for the right foot.Would I buy them again myself? Probably not. Would I recommend them? Too early to tell. And I have no idea how long they will last.

These are by far my favourite asics I've found, I've worn everything from quantum 5, 6 and 7s. I found this style matches the gt2000 8s and have found that they are the longest lasting shoes I've owned and comfiest all round while looking aggressive and matching most outfits.I will definitely buy again and suggest you give them a go.Only issues is the black pair I got didn't match the photo in material and are shiny coated material instead of just plain material but the shoes performance outweighs this.

The runners GT-2000 has been my everyday shoe for years. I’m a semi-retired creative. I don’t run, so have thought about the SX variant as a more comfortable option. I couldn’t find any locally to try on. After a lot of research, I ordered a pair during a sale hoping they wouldn’t be that different. They fit very well and have more padding under foot than the non SX, but aren’t that much heavier. Very happy. My next shoe will be this SX variant. Only wish the laces were longer, when using that extra hole to ensure a more secure fit.

Great shoes, very comfortable for me with mild overpronation. Every time I buy new shows I realise that I should have replaced earlier - knees and hips feel a lot better .. Mainly road running and gym with some off pavement running as well. Fitted for me and I have been through multiple generations of these shoes. Each iteration seems to be an improvement in design though I am not a massive fan of the colour choices!
I love these shoes, always comfortable, first pop. I have chronic pain and neuropathy in my feet, so a solid yet flexible shoe is essential for me. I would recommend this shoe for walkers, especially those with weak or painful feet. Very happy with them.
So trying to replace the Kayano 27. I had so many pairs stockpiled, yet finally ran out. Tried the new Kayano but found no support. I should be clear, I use these for power walking not running, but I pretty fast, often same speeds as a jogger. I have a bad hip, bad knees and EDS. I have complete instability in each and every joint, paired with flat flat flattest feet you can get. I have a huge width too, and since the Kayano 27, ASICS had changed the sizes up a lot, making a lot of styles much much smaller, probably to save cost. So these shoes also have a very solid mid foot trussic. So they are the best support for someone like me. But are great for quick turns. My foot can’t get out of joint. They glued there. With plush underfoot. Now nowhere near a Kayano or gt these days. But theres amply softness for heel, ball foot, and good splay in the toes. But be warned. Since they changed the sizes, get a wide or extra wide for normal Mens, or wide women’s. I got my usual wide (D) in women’s, buts that’s like a normal women’s (B). So I’d advise getting a men’s wide (2E) for a women’s wide, and anyone with extra wide may not find these wide enough. But the have the same trussic as the Kayano 27. The same mid-foot support. Just maybe not enough movement for full out running. I also got my first pair, about a year ago, first came out, and though worn, the heel gel gone slightly but still useable. I’ve been stockpiling again now for my strange feet. So in other words, they last months, and I use them about 8-10 hours each every day of those 8-12 months. But they loose their plush about 6-7 month mark of 8hours daily use. And I weight a lot for chick, 5’7 + 72 kgs. Still great value. Last a long time, and my joints stay stable. They best stability and heel placement I’ve had since the 27s. These are saviour on my joints, from my hips, to my knees, to my feet being locked in, but lace up to the top and need to lock in your heel. If you wear orthotics you’ll need to size up or try instore, they aren’t shallow, but not huge insole. You’ll be fine if your orthotics aren’t chunky. Im usually a Mens 9 or women’s 10.5 wide. But I had to get Mens 9.5 wide. But to be fair no ASICS in the last ten pairs of women’s shoes, did a 10.5 wide fit me .. so either my feet have grown exponentially or ASICS sizes have been really messed with since covid…
I already had a pair of these shoes but in a different colour so I expected a problem free experience with my new blue and silver ones. However, to my amazement the laces in the new shoes were over 10cm shorter than in the old! This made it nearly impossible to tie them when laced in my preferred style. The net result was a race across Brisbane to find laces of a suitable length. Found the length but the only colour was black. Are the shorter laces some kind of cost cutting measure by ASICS. If so, they’re simply passing the cost onto the customer…Not happy!!!
My second pair of Asics, & nowhere near as good a fit as my older pairs. For the first pair I followed the website's suggestion (4E) based on my old shoes, resulting in a shoe which was too wide; for this pair, the GT-2000, I chose the 2E width & this shoe for additional impact resistance - there's much less room inside, making a good sock (Thorlo) a tight fit, &, far worse, my heels blistered on my first walk (I don't run) due to the inside edge of the insole's heel cup. I feel like I've blown my money, all because I followed the recommendations from the website.
This is the second pair I have had this year and they have both worn holes in the sole quickly. This pair was received in early April and already holes have appeared.I purchased a pair this time last year which I wore daily, including a holiday where I did 20000 to 30000 steps a day, and they have only slightly more wear than the pair I purchased 2 months ago.Asics quality is not what it used to be and I will look for another brand in the future
Bought the GT-2000 SX (2E Wide) for running after a recommendation from a podiatrist after wearing the GT-1000 (2E) for several years quite happily. They don’t feel quite as wide as the 1000s, but still comfortable. The podiatrist was correct, they feel more supportive for my foot type.
