I bought the HOKA Arahi as a second pair of shoes (the other was the ASICS GT2000 -- a delightful shoe!), since I don't like to run in the same shoes on consecutive days. Preferences in running shoes are very personal and what works for one runner may not work for another. There even are variations in the same brand and model of shoes. That said, these shoes are quite good. The sizing was spot on, the material quality seems very high, they are comfortable and I can run ok in them. The cushioning is considerable, which is fine for some runners, but it feels somewhat overdone for me. Because there is so much cushioning, the motion control is a bit less than I expected. I tip the scale at 135 lbs and don't need a shoe with all that much shock absorption, but if you're ... I can only say I might. I've only had them for two weeks, and maybe they will grow on me -- but maybe they won't.

Having plantar fasciitis a few years back and feeling as if the lights of heaven shown down upon my feet just by putting on the Arahi was wonderful. I am back at again with peroneal tendonitos. Ah, but the Arahi had changed since I bought them 4 years ago. Do they help, heck yes. I have worn them for approximately 6 months straight. No other shoe. I even wore the black ones with my ankle brace (needed that as well for the tendon). Time for a new pair. I am also interested in the Ora recovery slide to change it up in the. I have to check and see how much of a difference there is for my heel, etc, You can't go wrong wit these sneaks. I love them and they also help with my pronated ankles! I'm a hot mess right.

Very comfy, great fit. Not a runner. More of a walker. Doctor recommended these for plantar fasciitis. Rotated these with Merrell, Keens and Brooks. For me, these were the most comfortable for running errands, taking walks and shopping. After ~ 6 months of rotated wear, the heel 9backside of shoe) on one foot wore down to the plastic and caused a huge blister while out walking the dog. Returned to REI, manager said it was probably due to the fact I used a shoe horn? While in the store, tried both Arahi and Brooks Adreneline and the Arahi won the comfort/support test on my foot. Waiting for next release to come out in April, but will be giving Hoka a second chance.

My 1st pair of Hokas. Worn them for 3 months. An amazing shoe!I’m a life long Nike Structure wearer and I developed severe case of achilles tendinitis on right foot. Dealt with it for a year and tried numerous recommended treatments and different shoes, including latest Structures with more cushioning at achilles area. After hearing so much about Hokas and doing some research, I went to REI to try a pair. The Arahi 6 did the trick with its stability and max cushioning. It’s 5mm heel-to-toe drop (vs Nike Structure at 8mm) and more cushioning at back of foot in achillies area have been the key.I’m back to running and building back my miles.I’m buying my second pair.
Let me start off by saying that I'm only giving 4 stars because I want to see how long this shoe will last. The other day I did a 5K run/jog while carrying my four year old in a backpack. Even with the extra load the shoes gave me support on every stride. It's been the most comfortable running shoe I have in rotation at this moment. I can definitely see myself running a marathon in these. Great for road running but not so sure about taking them on the trail. The only downside I have is that it's a bit narrow in the mid area of the feet but I have wide feet to begin with.Overall a great shoe, would recommend. Hope they come out with more colorways.
I bought these for my husband in April 2023 after his 1st pair wore out (which he loved and wore daily for a little over a year). After wearing this new style for a couple of months, he began complaining about his heels hurting every once in a while. Now he is constantly taking them off, after quick trips to the grocery store etc, because of the heel pain but hates not wearing them after paying so much for them 🙄 Of course we are now past the return time frame; it really sucks to purchase an expensive pair of shoes in hopes it will help prevent discomfort/pain, then come to find out a month or two later you have a new pain issue and an expensive pair of shoes that are worthless. We've both been wearing hoka's and always recommended them, but probably not anymore.
The shoe felt great for about a month and then started to lose the cushion- fast. First shoe in ages I've had wear in the heel and in less than 3 months the bottom is already losing its grip in the key contact areas.I'm just a walker so it's a bit surprising they wore so quickly. And while I walk a lot I'm not impressed with the durability. I expect my shoes to last 4-6 months. Which means with these Arahi 6's I'd have to buy a least two pairs to one pair of other brands.Last criticism is that I had an insole die in these shoes in a very weird way. The insole started making a snapping sound with each step. I've never had this happen with another shoe. This shoe obviously isn't for everyone.
This is the best fitting Hoka I've tried. I've had 4 pairs of Bondis (2 6s, 1 each of 7 & 8), 3 pairs of Cliftons and a Rincon. These aren't exactly in my wheelhouse since I'm a neutral runner that likes a lot of cushion, but in terms of fit these are by far the best. All the other Hokas I've tried even though I love the cushioning the shoes run narrow even in a wide and make them less than ideal. I'd like more cushioning in these, but they're good enough. I've only got about 50 miles on them but if they hold up I'll probably order 6 or 8 pairs since manufacturers tend to change designs and ruin the shoe. I'm an older runner (late sixties) that still runs halfs - run about 20-25 mi / week.
I am a heavy runner that has run for years. I have high arches and should be in more of a neutral shoe according to the experts, but I have found I need a stability shoe. My feet are curvy and I tend to push toward the outside of the shoe. I have run in Brooks for years and really liked them but have noticed more pain as I have gotten older. I recently got fitted with a pair of these at my local running store and noticed a difference immediately. My knee pain that has been an issue is almost gone and I don't have the soreness I used too after long runs. These provide support slightly differently (From what the guy at the store said) and it has made a difference for me. All I can say is try them and see of they feel right for you.
