A great trainer and for racing, though in racing I tend to go with a racing shoe just to have less cushion and more direct output. (For Cross Country, I go with the Tecton X, excellent in all aspects!) I digressed! Neutral road cushion runner/racer the 9 is a winner, I now have a few pairs of Clifton 9. Knowing there will always be changes, I locked in a few pairs of this Best run shoe!

It is hard to find anything wrong with the Clifton shoes. The Clifton 9 is the fourth generations I have purchased. Each one is extremely comfortable for daily wear and jogging. These are my daily shoes to wear running errands and to work. Soft comfortable sole, fit is almost perfect, upper is breathable and not hot when wearing all day.

Purchased the Clifton 9 which would be my 6th pair of Hoka's in my running career. I absolutely love these. They keep getting better. Who knew with more stack that the entire shoe would be lighter than its predecessor. After 2 runs, I decided to enter myself for another marathon in November.

I was not thrilled with the price but having a gift certificate I decided why not, my wife has been raving about Hoka shoes for years. My first 2 to 3 mile run was a bit disappointing. I thought these were supposed to be the Holy Grail of shoes but now that I am five runs in and over 25 miles including a very hilly 7 mile trail run I did, these shoes are excellent. At first I thought the ample cushioning was a bit too amorphous, it's there but it's almost too much or doesn't really help me run. And then I started landing on the forefoot more, especially on slight downhills and that's where the shoe really began to shine. I only have myself to blame though for ordering this color. An excellent shoe for running and I'm sure for walking or a job that requires you to be on your feet all the time you're going to love this immediately without any break in time needed.
I bought these shoes on recommendation from my wife who also purchase a pair of Hoka's for herself. She keep on talking about the comfort and how they made her feet feel at the end of the day. She wasn't tired, she just kept on walking. So when i tried on my very first pair on, it felt like I was walking on clouds, honestly. The best shoes out there for comfort.
I bought these little under a month ago and I can’t say what they will be like over time. But in the short time I have had these as a bigger guy, these feel amazing and weird at first but fit great and are a great shoe. Better than Brooks in my opinion. The heel feels like a spring with every step and they are so lightweight and doesn’t feel like walking with shoes on. I’ll be buying these shoes in the future!
I ordered these on a Friday… to set the stage. With any other company there has never been movement on an order on the weekend. Dick’s had the order shipped and I got them on Tuesday. Super fast, super easy, and I got exactly what I wanted which are the plain white Hoka Clifton 9’s.Oh, was I supposed to review the shoes too? As soon as I put them on I could tell the fit was better than the 8’s. The cushion feels softer, and the rest of the shoe is about the same. The mesh top is likely lighter than on the 8’s. Overall, the 9 is my go-to, as were the 8’s. I go through a pair every month (350+ mi) so I’ll be back soon.
I tried on a number of Hoka Clifton version 8’s and couldn’t find the typical fit I had come to know and live in the Clifton. I tried on the version 9 and immediately felt relief. It is everything I expect and more in the Clifton. Max cushion, extremely lightweight, and supportive.
I liked the 7s then the 8s came around and they were just better. Then Hoka has to one up themselves and make the 9s way more comfortable. I have had a pair of bondi 7 and 8s and these almost feel like a middle ground without the duck feet width of the bondi 8s. Highly recommend these to anyone looking for a great pare of comfortable causal/ running shoes.
I love these shoes. I bought a pair to officiate basketball. I loved how they feel. I have always been a Nike man till the day I die, but these feel so amazing and great on my feet. I'm able to officiate four games like nothing in these. So I bought a pair for my day job. I haven't looked back!!!
