Best shoe for prolonged standing!!!!

I do some walking and the Bondi 7 shoe is great on my feet.I also do a lot of prolonged standing. I was on a quest to find a comfortable shoe that would be more easy on my feet. There are a number of shoes that I tried and gave away because they just didn't feel very good when I was on my feet. Then I found Hoka brand and was extremely impressed that I finally found a company that understood my needs. The rating for each shoe on plush or firm impressed me.I was looking for plush for standing so I tried my first Bondi 7 and have never looked back. I have a couple of different Hoka shoes and I really don't look any farther than Hoka.I get a lot of questions from people about how I like Hoka brand shoes and I always tell them that these are the best I have ever had.

Can't keep up with my speed and endurance../.

I really wanted a plush cushioned shoe. This is no way cushioned. Once you put the shoe on your foot sinks down to the hard layer and it is like standing on a solid floor. I believe this is false advertising. Maybe in the past this shoe was what they say. My whole foot especially the heel was in pain very quickly. I only wanted a house shoe. They need to address this issue. No way anyone who received this shoe can possible say this is soft. My worn out old brand shoes are softer. I let my spouse use there hands to and they said wow, what were they thinking.

Major Heel Issue
23 August 2024

I have 4 of those pair of Hoka 7 because I love them so much for walking. This shoe is extremely comfortable, stable and adds a pep to my step. Unfortunately, I now experience tendinitis due to the heel construction. Bondis have that plastic heel cup. The Hoka Gaviotas do, too. If the plastic is exposed or otherwise poking into your heel, you're gonna have a bad time. I wish this long time issue would be addressed. I can't afford to keep purchasing these if the heel issue isn't resolved. I've tried everything to repair the plastic heel exposure, but nothing seems to work. The Bondi 7 are by far the best shoes I've ever owned due to significantly reducing leg pain and optimum stability. It's like walking on air. Most comfortable shoe for walking....
15 October 2022

Due to feet condition and flare ups with pain, my podiatrist recommended the Bondi 7 series. It's been a wonderful comfortable shoe with its cushioning especially when walking on asphalt around my neighborhood for daily exercise. It also helps with my spinal stenosis and compressed discs I have in my lower lumbar. I also have neuropathy in both feet and these shoes assist in alleviating that discomfort.Well, I'm disappointed now that Hoka has decided to discontinue the Bondi 7 and replace it with the Bondi 8. I cannot wear the Bondi 8 because they narrowed the width of the toe box resulting in too tight a fit. I've heard from my local shoe where I bought the Hoka Bondi that other Bondi 7 customers have complained about the Bondi 8 for the same reason. The Bondi 7 in 11 4E size fit my feet perfectly and I wish Hoka would bring back the Bondi 7 to fill my need and those other customers for a wider toe box. It would also assist in maintaining those loyal customers of the Hoka brand. I've tried on other brands that compete against the Hoka and they are not as comfortable for my feet.I've written this review as a constructive comment to Hoka and respect to them. The Hoka brand represents quality in shoe construction. In closing, I'd also like to recognize Footwear etc. in their Walnut Creek location for their extraordinary service in serving the shoe industry. The store manager, Jose is extraordinary in his friendly and knowledgeable demeanor. He also has the support and respect of a caring sales staff.

My fifth or sixth pair of Hoka's
9 July 2024

I used my black Bondi 7's daily for months including walking over Europe and China through mountainous regions, countryside and cities. I never used them for running though. Then I bought the ATR 6 trail running shoes which I use for daily casual walking in the city. Both superbly comfortable. Then I saw that a limited edition Bondi 7 was out so I immediately bought a pair of the olive green. I will continue to use the old black ones till they fall apart , if ever, because they are just so comfortable for walking miles daily. If the new pair hold up as well as the black pair that will be great. Once you wear a Bondi it's not easy to wear anything else because they are just so comfortable and hold up so well. It's a multipurpose shoe.

Reunited with an old friend (for my feet)
9 September 2024

I had several pairs of Bondi 7s and finally wore them out. Sadly, they were replaced with the Bondi 8 which is a very fine shoe and I have several pairs of them I acquired since they came out. There is just some subtle difference that makes the 7s feel a little more comfortable and familiar. I wear them for everyday use and for walking the local paved trails and have put several hundred miles on both models. I would rate them both as 5 stars. They each provide comfort and support, and relieve foot pain I have experienced from other high-quality brands. The quality of the material stands up to lots of use and even periodic machine washing. I would gladly purchase and wear either issue of the shoe and not feel like I am sacrificing anything, but overall I would give a ... MoreI had several pairs of Bondi 7s and finally wore them out. However, the Rincon 2 actually "feels" the most confortable and softer ride of these three different models. All three shoes fit well to size. The Rincon 2 and 3 lasted very well for me and felt great right out of the box.The build quality is good. The BONDI 7 is a very supportive shoe, but doesn't lend itself to track runs or speed-interval sessions.I am somewhat dissapointed that it's not as soft/plush as I had erxpected it to be. The thick/bulky upper and tongue, is probably it's biggest drawback for me. It actually feels nicer/better to walk in, than it does whilst running. Therefore, I cannot recommend the BONDI 7 (as advertised) with regard to my own experience. The Ricon 3, with a softer ride, would probably be the perfect shoe.

The 7 is a better running shoe than Bondi 8
15 August 2024

I have been wearing multiple versions of the Bondi for several year for my easy long runs. For me, the Bondi 7 was by far the most comfortable and I loved them. When the Bondi 8 came out I immediately purchased it but found it was a totally different and inferior running shoe. The 8 is okay for walking but a subpar running shoe. I put about 80 additional miles beyond my comfortable shoe-cushion miles on my old 7s when Hoka re-released the new 7s again. I am very thankful they did before I turned to a different shoe company. The new 7s feel outstanding, comfortable and keep me happy during my long runs. The new 7s are slightly narrower and feels slightly less cushioned under foot but I am hopeful those issues will be remedied after a few more miles of use.
