The Nike Vaporfly 4 is a mile-eating machine which just got lighter. Nike trimmed weight all over from the previous iteration without sacrificing performance. And the carbon-fibre Flyplate and ultra-responsive ZoomX foam midsole combine to give you race-day speed. The result is a more fine-tuned racing shoe that's trusted from the mile to the marathon. Full speed The full-length carbon-fibre Flyplate has a higher angle than the Vaporfly 3 and is combined with a lower heel-to-toe drop to give you a propulsive feel on race day. Lighter foam Nike ZoomX, their most responsive foam, just got lighter. Running from heel to toe, it unlocks even more energy return than before thanks to a slight midsole reduction, giving you a bouncy, feathery feel. Less weight Engineered mesh on the upper offers improved comfort and provides a disappearing feel on your foot. It helps reduce the weight of the shoe while supplying a more consistent fit. The reduced size of the heel and tongue save you even more weight on your run. Light feel The midsole has been designed to bulge out by the heel to help reduce weight on the inside of the foot and give you a more stable ride. The weight of the outsole has been reduced by using a thinner rubber compared with the Vaporfly 3. You still get the same reliability, just without any unnecessary thickness.
