I've been a Nike fan for decades; running, basketball, tennis, training, and lifestyle. This shoes are some of the lightest and comfortable I've ever owned. Cloud Like Propulsion

These shoes are cloud soft and provide plenty of propulsion through your stride! As someone who has knee issues, but regularly runs to stay fit, I am constantly on the lookout for comfortable running shoes. The Nike Zoom Fly 5's definitely fit the bill. The shoes have great cushioning, that help my knees not to hurt, and fit snug and secure on my feet. Out of the box these shoes are great! They have the classic black and white colorway, big Nike swoosh, and are extremely breathable and comfortable to wear. The only issue I had is the shoes rubbed my heel raw on the first couple runs. Nike you made this shoe perfect!!! I used to run in the invincible 2 but felt a little unstable in that shoe. So I bought the zoom fly 5. And wow this shoe checks all the boxes. I can use this shoe for daily running and long runs. The carbon plate felt so good on rolling me forward and the transitions felt so smooth. And the cushioning stayed consistent all the way through my run. It is way more stable than the invincible and the lock down is perfect. No heel slip at all unlike the invincible 3. I noticed on my running, my heart rate wasn’t that high, and also my running felt easier and faster. When it came to running up the hills, it was so much easier compared to my invincible run. Identity Crisis

The ZoomFly 5 has no place in a rotation. It is cumbersome and clunky, not what you want during tempo runs. The plate is useless, you feel it but there is no "pop" and makes the shoe even more uncomfortable. The ZoomX you're expecting is nonexistent. By using the scrap and a carrier foam all the benefits you've come to expect from ZoomX are gone. This upper is decent, I found it to be the best part of the shoe but that is not saying much. The lockdown was fine for me and it fits true to size with some room to spare in the forefoot. The midsole is where this shoe just falls apart. It is heavy lacks any road feel and doesn't give you the energy return like the real ZoomX. This shoe is nothing more than a marketing gimmick. Nike really needs to step it up! The latest updates to their running shoe lines have all been disappointing. From the Alpha fly to the Invincible run 3 all letdowns from the previous versions. Oh, I almost forgot the sole. The rubber pads are very soft and wear extremely fast the windowed portion of the shoe also sucks down and I can feel and hear it when walking on my hardwood floors. It creates a suction cup effect, which is the last thing you want when training. I really tried to love this shoe, but as I stated in the title it just doesn't fit anywhere. It isn't comfortable for long/ recovery runs, too heavy and cumbersome for a tempo shoe, and not good enough for a daily trainer. I just don't get what Nike was trying to accomplish with this update.

Not bad, but definitely a downgrade from the Zoom Fly 4 for me

I’ll say up front that I buy running shoes exclusively as daily use shoes for walking etc. and do not run in them.That said, these feel like a noticeable downgrade from the ZF4. I would agree that the carbon plate is not as strong as the ZF4 - those felt like they were literally adding energy to my stride while these lack that pop. I’d say the increased width and traction are an upgrade, but as a non-runner those aren’t as important to be as cushion.I also scrolled through all of the reviews to see if this has been mentioned and am a little surprised I didn’t see it, but there’s a design issue with the triangle-shaped pocket on the bottom of the shoe with the transparent window to the transparent foam. When walking on flat smooth surfaces (garage floor, tile, hardwood floors, etc.), that pocket acts as a suction cup, likely because of the flexibility of that window. When I say it acts like a suction cup, there is a clearly audible noise when I lift my foot (yes, audible to bystanders) as if you’re pulling up a suction cup. There’s also a definitely feeling of suction when lifting my foot - not enough to affect my stride but I can absolutely feel the sensation of the shoe breaking suction from the ground.It doesn’t help that the ZF4 was the best shoe I’ve ever owned, but these went from shoes I wanted to keep in tip top shape to ones I don’t care to get wet/dirty as a daily shoe.

As an experienced runner I found this shoe isn’t for everyone however it is a great shoe. Not perfect but perfect if a matter of opinion. Most of the bad reviews come from novice beginners who are new to running. I would recommend new runners get shoe fitted and a gait analysis before buying running shoes. Too many downgrades compared to Zoom Fly 4, less durability, less quality plate, very comfortable though

It also seems like the mid-sole was also downgraded since it's using used crushed zoom-x foam which decreases the durability of the mid-sole tremendously.ZoomX is a pebax foam, and like all pebax the lifetime of energy return is limited. So using old recycled zoomx plus GLUE, will make the midsole less durable and heavy. This makes it have less longevity than something that has pure zoomx. Really comfortable upper, and the outsole is more grippy and wider. The midsole is just too much of a letdown to overlook. Ended up returning this shoe and going for the zoom fly 4.I've been in the zoom fly for the past 5 years and it's a shame that the legendary line is being baited and switched with a lower quality product now, after the name has garnered fame. Please Nike, please return to the performance + durability combination of react + premium carbon fiber plate. Underrated and misunderstood

I think this is a very underrated and misunderstood shoe. This is by far one of my favorites to race with at distances over 10k and up. It is also durable and affordable compared to the VaporFly and AlphaFly. The carbon plate is not as stiff compared to those shoes. With its wider profile, it is also more stable allowing you for greater ground contact. The recycled ZoomX is not as soft, but it is to its advantage considering what this shoe is made for. I actually exchanged the ZoomFly 4 for this version because that shoe was unstable when cornering. It is also heavier, but this made me attack corners more aggressively due to its more stable structure. Overall, this is one great shoes for the price.

This product is very well rounded! Super impressed with the simple box with the packaging. When got the package, opened the box, the shoes were wrapped nicely and product was 100%. Took out both shoes and tried them on, was a little bit scared they would be a little snugged but when put on the shoes fit perfectly.I also wore the zoom flys at the gym to workout in and they are super comfortable. Had enough Cushion to support my flat feet which helped working out more enjoyable. When doing cardio on the treadmill, felt a lot of support with the way the sole of the shoe is. There is plenty of room for a normal to mildly wide foot. What I like best is the midsole. It gives plenty of cushion without feeling like mush and you are running invquick sand or on the beach like many of the super max Cush shoes are. Also the midsole gives great response and energy return to just keep on going and pushing. I use the lockdown eyelet with a runners knot to lockdown the ankle. Although it’s not a must.In short I love this shoe.
