I was really hoping to love the bronzer, blush and highlighter from Merit because I absolutely love their cream eyeshadow. However, they are definitely not worth the purchase. The formula for all three is very thin and oily and just sits on top of your skin and is very wet until it completely wears off in a couple hours. Also, even before it wears off, the coverage is barely there. I was expecting light coverage, but I don’t feel like these products do much at all except moisturize (because they’re so oily). The colors are pretty but the formula and overall application is super disappointing.I was hoping for a similar formula to their eye shadow which is an incredible cream to powder finish and has great lasting power.

This makeup may just be the most luxurious products I ever ever used. I generally stick with tarte and I have a chronic illness so I don’t work and any makeup really can get expensive but the better the quality the higher the price. It’s a shame. I try to help the environment also by using products with clean ingredients and just do what I can little by little.Anyway my point was there was a deal through the influencer I follow @daniaustin and I decided I don’t have much but this looks fabulous and I’ve watched her showcase it quite a few times now so I gave in and got the blush, concealer stick, brush, and the bronzer stick. Each were so smooth upon application and I’ve never blended anything so easily, and if I’m in a rush so quickly! Honestly I feel really fancy ... MoreThis makeup may just be the most luxurious products I ever ever used. You’re probably here because you’ve been influenced to try these products, after influencers have ravvvvvved about merit. Upon initially receiving my Merit makeup, I was surprised by the cheap quality packaging. The online photos make them appear high end quality, but the makeup packing itself is actually cheap, light plastic. I also noticed that in order for the makeup to have the “buttery” melted consistency you need to have your face super super moisturized, otherwise it does not blend in nicely. I got a free sample of their skin oil, and when I used it before applying the products, the makeup blended much better, but that’s another product I’d have to buy to use their makeup. Overall, I think the price point is high for the quality of the product. After reading reviews that it's sheer so to buy a darker shade than you need, I bought the balm in Seine shade. I'm glad I did as it is very sheer.Pros:- SO easy to apply and blend (I just use my fingers)- It's the only bronzer I've ever used that doesn't look patchy or uneven- Great consistency that makes it look much more natural and slightly dewy- You can use it without any other make up without it looking weird, so it's great if you like the easy no-makeup look but just want a bit of colourCons:- It is by far the warmest bronzer I've ever used. Fortunately because it's so sheer and blendable, it doesn't look TOO fake but it is does have an orange/red tone that looks far too warm for my skin tone. I have light, neutral olive undertones and most bronzers ... MoreAfter reading reviews that it's sheer so to buy a darker shade than you need, I bought the balm in Seine shade. I have light, neutral olive undertones and most bronzers look too warm on me but this is easily the warmest, so I really wish they'd do cooler shades.- I've been getting spots after I use it when I don't usually get spots. I know it's the balm as the spots appear on the areas of my face that I apply it, the day after using it. I love the consistency though- It doesn't last long so I have to bring it out with me and reapplyConclusion: I love the easiness of it and the finish, so if they brought out cooler shades then I would buy it again and just not use it daily to avoid too many spots.
In my opinion, this is one of the best bronzers ever!! This was one of my first ever bronzers I bought and it’s still my favorite! It’s very natural and subtle which I love! I use a water based skin tint and it sits perfectly on top. What I love about this bronzer is that it’s super buildable, I personally prefer a natural look though. If you prefer a more strong bronzer I suggest getting a darker shade or just buying a whole diffeeent brand, especially if building up color takes up too much time for you. Overall I love this bronzer and I do believe it’s beginner friendly. Perfect for anyone!
Sheer and creamy formula, buildable color. Kind of dries down a little, probably is why it doesn't slide all over the face. I love how subtle yet impactful Merit makeup is. I stalked the product information page for months before I took the leap to purchase. I wanted a contour/bronzer that was beginner friendly and the undertone of the product is neutral enough that I use as a contour. I felt that as a bronzer there needed to be another color before this one so I'm happy I chose the darkest shade and it works for me. The packaging is so expensive looking, I just love using it everyday. For reference, I am a medium deep complexion, warm-neutral (possibly olive).
Originally, I came to the Merit site to purchase the bronze balm, which I did. I also purchased Great Skin on a whim (which I really like). The ease of use of the bronze balm (clay), was nice, I wasn’t impressed with the warmth of the color on my skin. So, the next time, I used a little more and instead of a glowing flush, my face looked dirty. After a few more days of experimenting, I started to notice breakouts along my cheekbones. I’m 55, and haven’t had a pimple in years. So, I’m not really a fan of this particular product. I may try some others. Maybe this wasn’t the color for me, but Merit doesn’t cover return shipping. So, trying out other colors seems more of a hassle. I wish it were better
For one, the shade match finder (for the foundation stick /whatever it’s called)wasn’t perfect, but with such a limited shade range I imagine that’s to be expected. My main concern was the wearability. I have dry skin and this really looks patchy/emphasizes dry spots, but somehow still manages to look incredibly greasy after an hour or so of wear. It also emphasizes my pores a lot. It’s just not at all what I was expecting based on reviews and don’t my own research. The real nail in the coffee though is quality. Within a week, the foundation stick broke inside the tube and fell out onto a dirty hotel room floor. Forty bucks down the drain. I do generally like the blush and bronzer, although the bronzer barely has any color once blended. I do generally like the blush and bronzer, although the bronzer barely has any color once blended. I should’ve gone up a couple shades in that. I find the lip oil to be very drying after the glossiness wears off—I can’t wear it anymore due to the cracking I get from it. I love the concept of this minimal makeup system, but the products themselves just aren’t for me I suppose.
Nice texture, creamy and easy to apply. My biggest issue with online ordering is I’m not sure if the colors are always correct. The website recommended Quince for me, since I’m using Dune foundation stick. (Sidebar: that could be wrong color too, but here we are.). It looks a little orangey and peachy to me, which really clashes with my skin’s pink undertones.I hope the quality is better than the foundation stick. I’ve used sparingly since October and this week the entire stick fell out of the tube onto my countertop. I was able to just throw it back in, but I think it’s actually a packaging problem. I have to tug hard to get the cap off, which I am assuming outside a lot of force on the entire product, which could loosen the makeup over time. I feel that it is not good for people with big pore's, wrinkles and blemishes. All the examples of people using your products already have perfect skin. None of them really even need make up as they hardly even have any bags under their eyes, redness or blemishes. The Perfecting Complexion Stick is quite greasy, which, I suppose, gives the 'dewy' look, however I found it left me just looking sweaty and does not cover my eye bags or spots at all. Even with several coats. It is also difficult through out the day as you can't touch your face at all as it sits 'wet' on the surface and just gets wiped off. The Bronze Balm is an odd one as it just disappears once blended with the brush but adds to the sweaty look of your face. I do like the Flush Balm its cute and novelty ... MoreI feel that it is not good for people with big pore's, wrinkles and blemishes. The item I feel most ripped off about is the make up brush. It was VERY expensive and is just a normal make up brush at the end of the day. I was also really disappointed that I never got my free make up bag with my order. Spending £135 (it was a group deal) for these 4 items, I personally feel was too much for what they are. I would like to suggest some kind of sample sized options for the Perfecting Complexion Sticks as it it very hard to tell what shade you actually need from a computer screen. My stick is just a bit to yellow for my skin and I would like to have gone for a slightly lighter tone, but at nearly £40 I would not risk buy another for it not to match again. Over all the make up was ok it just isn't for me and my make up needs. I don't think I would be buying from Merit in the future.
