These just arrived and as soon as I slipped them on I knew they were going to be great. There is good arch support and heel cushioning. I think the footbed is helping to prevent pronation. They have a Vibram Megagrip sole so I feel confident wearing them. Got them on sale (a plus) and I love the color. I purchased the silver/pomelo color choice in a size 11. There’s plenty of room for a thicker sock. Walking around with size 11 feet, you seek out shoes that are flattering and don’t look huge. These are both. Overall these Agility Peak 5 shoes are sure to be a favorite going forward.

First time with Merrell for hiking or running hybrid shoes. I am using these for light hikes for dog walking and running to keep up on the trails to stay active. The shoes run true to size or maybe a little smaller, and I find them a little bit narrow for me specifically. They are acting like stability shoes so no major foot roll. They hold up well on uneven terrain. They are robust uppers too and easily self clean when going from mud to a wet puddle. The Gortex uppers are very helpful in the rain for short distances. Good grip. Not for heavy duty hikes. Suitable for trail runs.

Let-me-say… these shoes delivered. I got to break them in during a 6.5 mile trail run in some rain. The terrain for the trail was muddy, rocky and we had some stream crossings, one including a log. Really got to test the grip. In comparison to other trail runners. The shoes have full support of the heel, mid and in/outsole. Good grip and a roomy toe box. What I loved the most about them was, although they were not the Morphlite. Which are Merrells' shoes meant for both, trail and road running. The Agility were not uncomfortable when walking on pavement. I would recommend for trail runs where you might have a significant amount of road to walk on before getting back on dirt. I've used other brands of trail runners on pavement and they were hurting the bottom of my feet.

I received my shoes right before camping and taking two hikes in the Ruby Mountains outside of Elko, Nevada. I was so very pleased to have them on these technical hikes! We walked over boulders, across streams, through shallow mud, and then over mostly packed snow; my Agility Peak 5’s got a thorough test and passed with flying colors! I never once slipped or lost my footing, didn’t need my regular shoe inserts, and my feet were comfortable every step of the way.I also appreciated the rubber edge that took the scrapes (but doesn’t show it) instead of the fabric on the side of the shoes, that’s durability built in. My husband’s running shoes didn’t fare so well and were very ragged afterward.I normally wear a size 8, but bought these in an 8.5 so that I can wear ... MoreI received my shoes right before camping and taking two hikes in the Ruby Mountains outside of Elko, Nevada. I just returned home from a trip to Europe. I wanted to bring one sneaker that I could wear the whole trip and was functional but also cute with dresses, pants, etc. I brought these and they were great! I wore these to walk around London all day, to walk over the uneven cobblestones in Bruges, and up a mountain trail to a glacier in Norway. They were ridiculously comfortable and looked good too- got many compliments. I have a difficult foot to fit and shoes a lot of people like don’t always work for me. But these I would for sure order again. I found them true to size- they seemed a bit big at first, but after wearing them all day made me glad I got my usual size 10. I got the white with the pink/orange bottom. Give these a shot- you won’t be disappointed !
I purchase these shoes online and when they arrived, I loved the way they felt on my feet and they felt really cushioned. I was looking forward to getting them out on the trail for a test but unfortunately I didn't like how my heel kept lifting while walking around the house. I tried a few different lace techniques but nothing seemed to help. I did read prior reviews that this happened with other people, but I still ordered in hopes that they would fit my feet better. Maybe if I would have sized down a half size, it would have been better. but I always size up for hiking to allow swelling. Had to sadly return
Bought for serious trail running but other chronic injuries have precluded too many miles there… for the moment…but I have worn them for hiking many, many miles, outdoor cycling, walking for days on trips, a couple of indoor/outdoor workouts, some shorter (3-5 mile easier trail runs) and they are my favorite running shoes of all time.I have higher arches that always require a custom orthotic-not needed for these. Narrow heel, narrower than average, low volume feet just love these shoes. Grip has been excellent on every type of terrain but haven’t tried snow. LOL. So stable, excellent cushion while still providing firm support. I was worried the thin tongue would bother my low volume feet but nope, with decent hiking or running socks they are totally fine. Now I must decide-buy a back up pair or see if somehow the next version is even better? Merrell for hiking boots, trail runners, and hiking sandals. One of my absolute favorite brands for my goofy feet. Comfort and fit are my primary concerns these days but hey, they also look very cool.
I bought this shoe and it arrived over the weekend. Originally, I wanted something waterproof as I purchased the goretex since I will be wearing these commuting to work in the winter, and definitely needed a shoe with overall great cushioning as I am having foot pain. The shoes were amazing, I wore them all day over the weekend with no pain on the ball of my foot. So far I've worn them to commute to work twice, since I have a fairly long distance to travel by foot after the train to work, and they have been so comfortable. I haven't had a chance to try them in wet weather yet, but am looking forward to it. Got my regular sizing in Merrell, and even with a thicker sock, it's perfect.
Just returned from a 2 week national park tour vacation. We hiked a total of 86 miles in 11 different parks. These shoes are by far the best hiking/walking shoe I have ever owned. Our longest hike was 12 miles. I am prone to blisters and sore feet…I had neither! I even hiked thru a creek at glacier national park and walked a few miles in them afterwards and they never bothered my feet. If you need a shoe with more an ankle support these will not be for you, but if you are looking for all day comfort, they are! We did moderate hikes, nothing real crazy. The tread works great when hiking on rocky surfaces. I bought the size (9.5) I typically wear and they worked perfectly. They were also easy to clean up when I returned.
My Agility peak 4's have been a lifesaver- they accommodate my orthotic and helped me get moving again after toe surgery. No other Merrells have worked for me- usually due to ankle discomfort and tight toebox. I really wanted black so was thrilled to see Agility peak 5 in black (ish). But why oh why keep the name and dramatically change the shoe!! The heel now has a very course lining instead of smoothe- almost like a brillo pad so you have to wear thick socks. The toe box is now tighter. and the insole is firmly glued in so you can't put in your own orthotic. So frustrated!
