Your podiatrist blew the toe design. As a human the heels, balls, and toes of my feet are flat on the ground. Maybe elves have toes that point to the sky, I don't know. After prolonged wear of hyperextended toes, your phalange joints will start to complain and there will be discomfort. Too many shoe manufacturers have taken on this inappropriate trend. Stop with the fads and produce anatomically correct shoes. That said, the arches have good support and they are stable, secure, and comfortable elsewhere. There are mild hot-spots on the top of the foot. The strap in the back is unnecessary and provides no additional value other than making them more difficult to get on/off and adding weight. I ripped mine off.

Originally got these for a trip where I was going to go snorkeling & having to walk along the beach on a coral reef. Ended up not only wearing them on the beach and in the water, but also walking around everywhere I went. One word comfortable. Downside the sizing runs too big so I had to return my first pair for a full size smaller. Don’t believe they make these in half sizes. Upside they work for what they’re designed to do & are as comfortable as a slipper and ultra lightweight. Excellent quality and are holding up well. Happy with my purchase as they are far better than water socks.

Purchased these a few weeks ago because I’m a small boat sailing instructor and needed a closed toe shoe that I can submerge when beach launching. They run a little large so I purchased a 10 even though I typically wear a 10.5. They feel like real shoes, not poorly fitting clogs. But I have 2 complaints. The strap can be placed over your foot or around your heel. When around your heel, your foot will be slide slightly forward for a tighter fit, but it makes them much more difficult to put on. They are definitely not slip on shoes, even with the strap over your foot where it does very little. Second is particular to beach/water use. There aren’t any holes below the level of the sole. I work with a lot of people that have similar shoes and I’ve gotten some positive comments about how these shoes look, particularly with the strap behind the heel.

Unfortunately, I only discovered this skin breakdown problem after the return period had expired. They have a great feel under foot as well, soft but not to the point of squishy which is something I’m not a fan of.
