I've owned two pairs of these. The first ones I loved (5 star) and the second pair not at all (2 star). But I suspect the second pair may have been a really good knock-off. The question to anyone who just purchased these, how firm is the back entry behind your heel? I've had two pairs. On my good ones, there was a plastic insert in the heel that made it very firm and easy to get into. In the "bad" pair, the back was soft and you could fold it into the shoe with a finger. The good pair I had for years. The bad pair fell apart fast. Here are two photos. If anyone has time, see if you can push the heal into the shoe like these photos, I'd appeciate it. I'd like to buy a new pair but don't want to get another "bad" paiar.

Really, really great product. Best of the best comfort, and so far seems like great quality. But the shoe they sent me was entirely different than the one pictured. And after calling customer service, they basically told me they couldn’t send me the correct one because the styles differ with this particular shoe — which to me is a poor business model. How can you sell something other than what is advertised and think this is okay? Anyway, I digress because the shoe itself is actually awesome and worth every penny. But again, for the poor business model I can’t help but give 1 star for lack of attention to detail and professionalism.

Great shoes for all-around wear. I have worn the women's version of these for years. I purchased a pair for my husband in a lighter color one year ago and he wore them for nearly everything (winter with warm socks, summer with short socks, jeans, shorts, everyday, hiking, whatever). They have worn well and I just picked up this second pair for him as the soles on the first pair were wearing down with the extensive use. One comment I will make is that I can't get him to take them off in the house and the carpet below his chair is now dark. Could be from dirt, but I suspect that it is from the dark soles rubbing on the carpet.
