I donned my first pair of Jungle Mocs in Revelstoke June of 2000, and immediately disappeared into the backcountry for a week, where I lovingly wore them around camp for everything that didn't require lacing up the boots, and...These days, those original jungle mocs are lookin' pretty beat— they're fairly shredded and the soles are smoooth, and don't stray too far from home any more, but are enjoying their golden years as "around the property" footwear. But for many of their 20+ years of life they have handled some crazy $h!+ with an elegant and understated grace; they just don't LOOK as high-performance as they are.Now I've got a shiny new pair, aaaaand I'm disappearing into the backcountry...Legendary Jungle Mocs, Man. Gonna get 'em dirty and make some memories.

Merrell shoes always "cradle" my feet perfectly, and this one is no exception. Even though I have the option to sit at work, I mainly stand throughout the day. These shoes provide support and make doing that even easier! While I do have a personal preference of being able to tie my shoes tightly, I'm not able to do that with these slip-on shoes. However, that is nothing against the shoe! They fit well. But it is worth noting if you also like to have tightly laced shoes.I have purchased Merrell (hiking) shoes for many years now and always return to them. I am already looking at the lace-tie shoe options available on their website and plan to purchase again.

I have lived in Hamburg Germany, Melbourne Australia, and San Diego CA, I travel all over for work too. These shoes are great, I have purchased at least 4 pair in the past 6 years. Because they are slip on and off, they are easy when your hands are full, or they are muddy and gross. They are water proof. They even look ok enough to wear to a decent restaurant, although my wife thinks otherwise. The down side, they dont seem as grippy as would like on wet granite. They seem to kick up small pebbles from time to time, that then get into your shoe, but they are easy to get out since they slide on/off quickly.Overall a great shoe, and I will likely have another 5 if they keep making them.

I like the shoes. They were my dad’s shoes he bought so he could slip them on easily and be stable walking in them due to his physical condition. He past away so I was asked if I wanted his shoes. They were a little big for me but I have been wearing them over a year and they are great. I have had them in extreme cold and extreme hot and in the desert on rocks and trails. The tread is still good. They still are comfortable a little warm in the heat. The stitching on the top front expandable flex seam is starting to fray. There are no tears or rips, the material cleans off easily, and seam tone well built. They do get a little warm on a summer day inside the shoe. They look good I think when wearing jeans and casual dress, also in shorts. The bottom tread wraps ... MoreI like the shoes. I had been wearing some similar mocs from another company (initials LLB) for almost 20 years. They served me well, and I tried to replace them with the same company's current offering. But their sizing was all over the place, and I couldn't get a new pair that fit appropriately. But I'm glad I was able to find these mocs from Merrell. I should've known that Merrell would do them right. I've had other shoes from Merrell over the years and they've always been outstanding. These mocs could not fit any better, and as a guy with big / wide feet (12EEE or12EEEE) I have trouble finding comfortable shoes. That being the case, I have always found myself preferring to go shoeless around my house. But these mocs are so RIDICULOUSLY COMFORTABLE that I find myself wearing them ... MoreI had been wearing some similar mocs from another company (initials LLB) for almost 20 years. I got these shoes when I developed plantar fasciitis and needed a shoe with more support. What you need to know about these shoes:1. The soles are RIGID. I had to add insoles to make them softer and more comfortable, and they still feel hard. When you walk around you can hear the heels of the shoe hitting the ground, hard. Thump thump thump.2. The shoes are warm. Definitely a winter shoe. When I wear them in room temperature environments, my feet sweat. When I wear them outside in the winter, they are great at keeping my feet warm.3. DO NOT WEAR THESE SHOES IN WET ENVIRONMENTS. They are some of the most slip-prone shoes I've ever worn. I work in a restaurant and as soon as I go back to the kitchen where the floor is always wet, I'm slipping and sliding. I work in a restaurant and as soon as I go back to the kitchen where the floor is always wet, I'm slipping and sliding. I also fell down some wet stairs that led to my friend's basement apartment. Be careful in them! All of that said, I like that they're slip on, sturdy (will never fall apart), have good support, and look nice.
These shoes are absolutely great except for one thing, that is probably an issue only for me - but just in case there is anyone else out there with razor-blade heels: after a couple days of walking, the right heel started to slip. Not the left, just the right, and of course this only manifested after having worn them outside and such (couldn’t return). So walking isn’t quite as great as I was anticipating. I’m trying to add liners, something to the inside of the right shoe to counteract the slipping, hope I can fix it. Because otherwise the shoes are the absolute Bomb: waterproof, wonderfully arch-supportive, (should be) comfortable for miles of walking. Fingers crossed! But if you have narrow heels… I’d have to say: keep looking.
Love these! I am wide across the forefoot and have a wicked high arch and rarely find a slip on that I can actually slip into and wear comfortably. I chose 7W with the fear that my narrow heel would probably slip and cause blister formation. Imagine my joy and surprise when I was easily able to slip into these due to the dual elastic gussets, and wear them very comfortably for hours on my first wearing. I initially chose Midnight and every dog hair and speck of dirt showed. But then I found a good stiff brush across the suede made them look brand new! I love the support, stability, and look of this shoe. I wish there were more colors available in wide width. I did purchase the Gun-smoke color-way as well, but would love some fun colors in wide width. These shoes are ... MoreLove these! They are the only shoes I’m taking because unlike an athletic shoe, I can wear these with anything for any reason- to museums, to dinner, to walking miles of cobblestone streets. Thank You, Merrell!
I have purchased two pair of these shoes and find them to be very comfortable and durable. And yes, I do have "problem" feet - arthritis, a bunion, short and wide. The only problem I have with these shoes is that the last pair I bought have a "pull tab" for lack of a better word, on the heel and it is in a brightly striped color. The first pair I bought had a plain black tab which was great. I could wear these shoes even for dress shoes, without them standing out. The brightly colored tab just draws attention to the shoe and in a dress setting, is not wanted. Please, please do not ever change this shoe, but please do change the "pull tab" back to the plain black. The bright stripes and so on are cute, but do not match every outfit or occasion where a comfortable, but unobtrusive, shoe is needed. I would give every shoe I have purchased from you a five star rating, other than for the colors and the darn striped tab.
Just got home from a three-week trip to Morocco, all over the country, from cities to the Sahara. These are the only shoes I took with me other than a pair of Toms that I wore once outside. As usual with my previous Merrell shoes, these required little break in. I wished I had half sized up but did not have time to return and exchange.I have had probably six pairs of Merrell walking/hiking shoes. I have been pleased with all of them. This particular style has a problem though. While in Morocco there were some rainy, wet days. I discovered, to my dismay, that these shoes have little grip on wet surfaces. The cobbled streets of Chefchaouen became treacherous as I almost slipped several times wearing these shoes. What the heck, Merrell?! The cobbled streets of Chefchaouen became treacherous as I almost slipped several times wearing these shoes. What the heck, Merrell?! What is different about these shoes? What material is used in the sole? The tread is fine, but after almost falling several times, I no longer felt these shoes were reliable in wet conditions! Not only that, but so many places in Morocco are tiled and if it was wet I always felt vulnerable. I was creeping around and reaching for handholds ALL the time. So, if you're going someplace dry these might be fine, easy on/off at the airport, comfortable, warmish, but I would not suggest taking them to a wet climate.
