Got the hydromoc to trek the narrows in my swimwear. Was it a good idea? Hell yes!! the water sandals lived up to their hype. Grippy and overall pretty comfortable. The strap does slip over the lip sometimes and it caught the back side of my ankle enough times to actually bruise. This I feel can be improved... that and better sizing would make this unbeatable for any activity that needs waterproof shoes. I'll get these anyday over crocs. Looks awesome too.

These are the most comfortable shoes! I have them in every color. I had bunion and hammer toe surgery two years ago. It makes finding shoes difficult. These shoes have the support I need and allow for swelling. I love them so much I even purchased a pair for my husband. He has diabetes and normally wears diabetic shoes. However these make wonderful shoes for around the house and relaxing. He was surprised at how comfortable they are on your feet!

Purchased these a few weeks ago because I’m a small boat sailing instructor and needed a closed toe shoe that I can submerge when beach launching. They run a little large so I purchased a 10 even though I typically wear a 10.5. They feel like real shoes, not poorly fitting clogs. But I have 2 complaints. The strap can be placed over your foot or around your heel. When around your heel, your foot will be slide slightly forward for a tighter fit, but it makes them much more difficult to put on. They are definitely not slip on shoes, even with the strap over your foot where it does very little. Second is particular to beach/water use. There aren’t any holes below the level of the sole. So water won’t drain fully on its own. There are also no holes at the toe or heel so ... MorePurchased these a few weeks ago because I’m a small boat sailing instructor and needed a closed toe shoe that I can submerge when beach launching. There are also no holes at the toe or heel so to drain the water while wearing, you need to bend your foot in an awkward way to get the water to drain from the gap behind the hing of the strap. That makes it nearly impossible to get the sand out without removing the shoe. Crocs have holes below the sole and drain both sand and water much better. But I find these more comfortable then Crocs and I can run in these (short distances) like I can in an athletic shoe. I work with a lot of people that have similar shoes and I’ve gotten some positive comments about how these shoes look, particularly with the strap behind the heel.

I’ve owned these for one year and the plastic strap at the back has become so brittle and cracked to the point of it breaking with only the slightest pressure when putting them on. I took them back to the shop and they said that they had never seen this before but because they were out of 6 month warranty they deemed it wear and tear. I let them know that id still like to get into another pair or keen these alive if they had replacement straps or maybe they could give me a discount on a new pair but they wouldn’t even do that. Pretty poor experience imo. I loved them up until them breaking prematurely and would’ve been nice if they could do something about their faulty product. Potentially might be a colour related issue as my straps were opaque with speckles of ... MoreI’ve owned these for one year and the plastic strap at the back has become so brittle and cracked to the point of it breaking with only the slightest pressure when putting them on. Received Monday and already sent back for a refund. I did read through the reviews prior to purchasing and they were mixed on sizing. However I should have listened because everyone was right. These run too big and they need to make half sizes! I'm normally a size 8 and with socks on these were a half size too big. I contemplated purchasing a 7 but I know they will be too small and I don't want to chance when paying for shipping on these. I've worn Merrell shoe's since I was 22, I'm now 51 and extremely loyal to this brand. I won't wear anything else but these sadly need to come in half sizes immediately. Do yourself a favor and try them in store before purchasing online! Gorgeous hydro mocs but they just didn't make the cut sadly.
I, too, had the older version and they were very soft and AWESOME, but the soles were wearing out. So, I bought THREE new pairs in different colors only to find they are now stiff rubber and every time I wear them one rubs a bad blister on my heal every time. I thought it might be a fluke with one pair but have the same result with all three pairs. Since they are molded (stiff) plastic, there is no way to stretch and fix this issue. I have tried several time to wear all of them but same result. To say I ma disappointed is a gross understatement. Do not waste your money on these.
I recently ordered a new pair after having a pair gifted to me over 3 years ago. These shoes are durable, comfortable, and fit true to size. I have had them for over 3 years and can still wear them but they have little tread on them so slick surfaces are a hard no. At the time I received them, I had bad early onset arthritis in my left ankle; likely from a 20-year old injury that didn't heal properly. During the pandemic, I was almost always in my house wearing these shoes cause it was better than being barefoot or being constricted by a different shoe. The opening of the shoe was wide enough to allow me to wear a brace when I needed. I've worked beyond that arthritic pain and have been able to walk and hike comfortably again. The opening of the shoe was wide enough to allow me to wear a brace when I needed. I've worked beyond that arthritic pain and have been able to walk and hike comfortably again. It took a lot of stretching and strengthening but I would say these shoes were there every step of the way. When I wear them out, I get a lot of compliments on them. They aren't as crazy as Yeezy's or their many imitators, but not as simple as the Croc clog but somewhere in the middle. Fans of neither still liked these (or lied!) and the only ones who hated them were trypophobics. I like wearing them with socks usually but they can be worn without them. The material will make your feet sweat without socks but there is a large toe box and plenty of ventilation because, you know, big holes all over the shoe. They are great just about anywhere except the beach because sand will get trapped in the front and cannot be kicked out since there are no holes in the front. Still, I'd rather sit down and dump out sand than wear flip flops of any kind.So yeah, I really like the classic Hydro Mocs, and they have earned their place at my front door.
I can’t remember when I purchased (it doesn’t show up in my account purchase history) but it maybe 6 months ago or a little longer.Very comfortable but I always wear with socks since they are a little loose so I fear blisters and to keep my feet clean on trails. I usually wear a 10.5 so I sized down to 10. Maybe 9 could’ve worked but those are the perils of online shopping.I’ve worn the soles down pretty good in moderate walking, mostly on concrete:asphalt but they still have decent traction. Probably not the recommended use. My neighbor runs in his without socks and loves them.I’d buy another pair if I could try on a 9 first or try another newer version.
These Moc's are durable, stylish, and comfortable. I can wear this shoe all day without feeling any foot fatigue. This is my second pair, because I nearly wore out the bottom of my first pair. I needed a new pair for travel destination where there are many beaches. I prefer this Moc because I can continue from the beach to the city without changing shoes (just rinse and go...if you have too!). The many colors offered make them stylish to wear with my many polo shirt/short combinations. Once this pair wears out, I will be ordering my next pair.
My son wore his hydo mocs to school for the 1st time today and one already ripped on the side. I bought them for his summer camp where he's playing on a playground, and in a creek or trails all day but they didn't even make it through a day in school. He loves them but I'm concerned that even if we get a replacement through the warranty, they'll rip again. I see other reviews showing the strap breaking off too. So sad about this because his Walmart brand and Totes brand have lasted all year but I loved the features (staying on better and gripping slippery rocks) and fit (arch support) of these hydro mocs.*I tried to upload the photo of the shoe but it won't let me using my phone so I'll update, if able on another device.
