A Excellent Trail shoe

I bought the very first pair that just arrived in store while I was in the order process with salesman (Labron). His associate heard I was looking for this particular shoe said here they just came in. Talking about timing!!. Bought them on 6/29/22. I'm a 11 M the minute I put my foot into the shoe was like well made glove for my feet. A true fit real light weight like a running shoe. I have low arches almost flat-footed, the insoles has a real great arch support insoles it's removable. Truly breathable comfortable all the way around. This beauty has the hiking/trail stability with a running shoe allday walking comfort. I like trail walking and I do hard ground walking and wine trails. I'm 59 so I truly need a exceptional quality and comfortable shoe these are those. ... MoreI bought the very first pair that just arrived in store while I was in the order process with salesman (Labron). A great hiking shoe that is actually really wide!

So - first off, I'm a she. I have pretty wide feet & recently realized a hammer toe was forcing me to purchase ALL new footwear. I also bought the women's Bravada in wide & am happy with those as well. This one - yay! I bought the men's wide & they are wide and comfortable. I'm utterly thrilled. I loved the Siren Edge but it, in wide, was too narrow for me. These are great. The soles are grippy enough for rock hiking (I live in North Idaho). The toe box is roomy and has some flexible rubbery (?) stuff over the toe to protect from rocks, etc. Very happy!

Coming apart after less than three weeks

These were delivered to our house less than three weeks ago. My husband has been wearing them to work (in an office) and to run errands. He hasn’t done anything remotely athletic in these shoes since they arrived. Unfortunately, parts of the trim (design element?) on both shoes are already peeling off in different places. They look nice, and he says they’re very comfortable, but this shouldn’t be happening after less than three weeks of light use.

Inferior to Moab 2
23 November 2022

Somehow this shoe is both too big and too small, despite the same size fitting me PERFECTLY on the Moab 2. The lacing does not feel secure at all. My feet feel pinched from the sides but also the heel slips out. The support on the brand new shoe is no better than the support on the worn down pair that I was hoping to replace. I really detest these shoes. I used to be able to count on Merrell as being the only company that actually makes shoes that fit me but I guess those days are now over.

Maybe stick with the Moab 2’s
7 April 2023

I had a pair of waterproof Moab 2’s for a long time so I was excited for the 3’s. I opted for a breathable version this time for warmer hikes. Unfortunately I have only been wearing them around the fire station and daily errands for less than a month and the shiny part is separating from the mesh upper where it meets the sole. It is happening on both shoes. The shoe is comfortable and breathable but unfortunately it does not seem to be durable as it is coming apart before I even hit the trail.

Not for serious hikes
19 June 2023

I’ve been wearing these as my primary works shoes and daily walkers for about 6 months and they have worked great so far. I just got back from an 18 mile backpacking weekend which I brought these shoes and they were very average. They work great on flat ground but they slide around too much on declines resulting in the first two blisters I’ve had since switching to Merrell (for shame!) I will be sticking with my leather Moabs for hikes. I gave the shoes a 3 because $110 is steep for daily walkers (which is what these shoes really are)

Poor quality garbage. Don’t waste your money.
27 December 2022

Received these as a replacement pair to the Moab Speed which fell apart in less than 6-months of semi-regular use. The soles seem much more durable and supportive than the Speed. However, the rubbery plastic webbing started to crack after a few days of use! The fit isn’t as sung as I would prefer and while the size is correct, I can’t seem to get them tight enough on my foot. For lack of a better description, they feel a bit sloppy on my feet. This will be my last pair of Merrell’s. Maybe their leather shoes are more durable?

Questionable quality
8 August 2022

I received these shoes almost two months ago and the first thing I noticed was the construction. The upper is full mesh with what appears to be plastic or vinyl adhered to it - think “iron on”.I should have immediately returned them but decided to give them a try anyway. First I will say that they are comfortable and supportive. However after having them this short time, my concerns were warranted. The “iron on” portion of the upper is already separating and peeling. I have only worn these casually and not under any condition that would stress them (no hiking). As I said, I should have returned them. Do yourself a favor - save you money and frustration and keep shopping. Sadly these are no better than discount store quality. Not recommended.

Started falling apart in less than 100 Miles
3 January 2023

I bought these through REI and was excited about them as Moabs have always been a decent shoe, they have literally started falling apart and they don't even have 100 trail miles on them. I don't wear them everyday, just during hikes or field work, the sides have this plastic polymer stuff on the side I guess meant to protect the mesh upper but now I'm worried about pieces falling off during a hike and leaving micro-plastics. The toe box is a bit wide, even for a wide shoe. The lacing systems tends to sound like an old door hinge when first tightening. I will absolutely be returning these and going to look at a better brand highly disappointed

Worst pair of Merrell shoes I have bought
23 November 2022

Bought these in June. I have worn them every now and then. The soles are separating and the rubber coating is peeling off. I have spent over $1000 this year alone on the brand as I am on my feet for 10+ hour shifts. I have worn Merrell's for the last 14 years and can't say enough about how much I like these shoes until now. I have pairs of shoes from here that are 6+ years old that are better. Very disappointed in the quality of these shoes. Not worth the price. I would expect this kind of quality from a pair of Walmart shoes. Hopefully this is not the new trend with Merrell.
