Excellent so far, but it's early days. 2 walks completed in them, though one only about 2 miles long. I am not too hopeful about their water-proofness as my last pair of Merrell's failed to be waterproof after about 18 months at the most. But comfort is all and that is where Merrell excels. Price also very competitive and Millets delivery and online choice was very good.

Don't feel Boab 3 is as good as Boab 2.

I personally felt quite disappointed at the purpose. I had 3 Boab 2 boots at size 8 and they worked really well. That is why I was excited to do the purpose online for a Boab 3. Then I found out the size of these shoes are bigger. It feels like wearing size 8.5. Also when I tried to walk on wet slippery hills, they are quite slippery, which seems to be less slippery-proof than Boab 2. So I think I would rather buy Boab 2 than Boab 3.

Great support and comfortable right out of the box

These are the third pair I've owned. I get a new pair about every 2-3 years because I wear them daily. I'm out in the field with dogs and over all sorts of terrain and they keep me going. Found out that I really needed a size 6 instead of a 7. Got measured wrong and so the first 2 pairs I had to add an orthotic. They still worked but the 6s are SO much better. I'm over 70 and still going strong with the help of Merrell. They are indestructible.

Hiking Shoes that Look Good! Feel Good!

Bought for wife. Fantastic hiking/walking shoes. Absolutely love wearing them. They look great so I feel good wearing them. So impressed, I bought again.Very comfy, hardy, for beach, bushwalks & camping. Don't have to worry about ankle sprains as high back on shoe supports my weak ankles. Last pair serviced me reliably for 12 years - taking me on countless experiences through mud, water, sand, paddocks and paths. Don't hestitate in buying! You wont regret it.

Love Merrill Moab hiking boots. I have been wearing them for 20 years. I have low top and mid. Recently got my first gore-Tex pair. Tested the waterproof Ed’s in some waterfalls and they were great. Feet nice and dry. No break in period needed for me. Love the wide toe box. I recommend them to everyone.

Much disappoint in me boots

I got these boots as a Christmas gift. It's been cold, so I have only taken them out twice since then. They're already coming apart at the sole, and today both laces finally snapped in half (which made the hike back to my car rather miserable). I've never had an issue with Merrell before, and I've been buying hiking boots from them for over a decade now. But these are garbage. I'm extremely upset that my siblings paid so much for these. They've seen maybe 10 miles total and are in bad shape. I've done nothing different from how I normally hike. I've had Merrell boots go hundreds of miles before showing signs of wear. Not sure if the company has gone downhill or I just got a crappy pair, but it's bad enough that I'm considering switching to a different company for ... MoreI got these boots as a Christmas gift. For comparison, my last boots lasted me from 2016 until fall 2022, when the sole started to give way, and I was hiking at least 5 miles a week (probably averaging closer to 8 miles a week) during those years. Only rating 2 stars because they are more comfortable than previous Merrell boots I've had. Just sucks that they haven't held up as long.

Not one blister

I am over the moon (mountain actually) with my new boots. I wasn't expecting them to arrive as quickly as they did (perfectly timed for my trip around Tassie) and expected to have to wear them in, but they are so comfortable that I've been wearing them almost all day every day. The colour range of these boots is great, the price is very reasonable, and I've been seeing them on many feet these last 3 weeks. I'm not surprised that they're so popular. I'm very happy.

Not waterproof at all

These came in yesterday and I tried them out today. It was pouring rain. They were not waterproof at all. My feet were soaked all day. It was miserable. I have other Moabs, these must have been defective because my other boots were great. I am so bummed because they look great. I actually had water inside my boots not damp but water all by my toes.

So comfortable right out of the box!

Purchased these and used them for the first time for exploring Carlsbad Caverns in NM and couldn’t be happier! Hiked over 6 miles in the caverns that day and absolutely no blisters or sore areas on my feet or ankles whatsoever! This is huge for me especially with new boots…needed no breaking in time! Very happy and pleased with my purchase…performed awesomely! It was cool in the caverns (50’s) but my feet stayed warm without sweating…my feet and ankles were not even feeling tired at the end of the day! Thank you Merrell for creating a boot that is comfortable, tough & cool to look at too! Performance is key but I wanted a boot that was stylish as well and I think you achieved that! 👍🏻 I purchased the red, tan & black color! Love them!

Very Comfortable for hiking

I bought these boots because I already had the shoes and were happy with them. I bought them the day before departing for a hiking trip in Japan (I know I should have worn them in first!). I wore them hiking the Kumano Kodo and also Yakushima for day hikes only. They were very comfortable from the start and supportive. I did hike over some very slippery rocks though, and was not confident that they would grip well, so I took it very easy.
