I bought these to replace my boots for a trip to Yellowstone. I was tired of big, heavy boots that took up a lot of real estate on my body, and I my bags, but still needed something that provided support in rough conditions. So far, these have delivered. I had my doubts, since they’re so light they almost feel fragile, but so far I haven’t been disappointed.I wasn’t counting, but over the course of this trip these shoes did between 10-12 miles. They handled scree well - could not even feel the rocks beneath my feet. Flat ground is the same story. Comfortable, breathable, and insanely light. I did not get the model equipped with gore-tex (gore-tex has longevity issues) so the heavy morning due along the rivers while I was fishing soaked my feet fast, but the shoes ... A well-rounded trip, but I’m noticing significant wrinkling in the midsole and some wear along the lugs that hold the shoelaces. I’m hoping these are just signs of life.

I live in Vermont and I hike in all four seasons. In the last 15 years, I typically hike between 1000-1500 miles each year. Last season I hiked 1374 miles. All of these miles have been walked in Merrell shoes. I’m never disappointed in your products. Your shoes fit my feet well. I’m able to lace up a new pair right out of the box and walk without any discomfort. I have a pair of Merrell boots for winter hiking, another pair for wetter shoulder season hikes, and Moab speed 2’s for summer hiking. Thank you for your continued offerings of high quality products!

Florida's best kept secret is the 85,000 acre Fakahatchee Strand. It's home to the Florida Panther and some of the most valuable wild orchids on the planet. The old Cypress logging trails are simply great and my Moab Speed 2's were super in wet or dry conditions. A good friend of mine is a retired orthopedic surgeon who worked with several major league baseball teams here during spring training. He wears NOTHING but Merrills. Thanks and keep the great products coming.

I completed the French Camino in 2022 wearing Moab 3. The fact that I was able to walk all 800 km without blisters or any foot issues was amazing, particularly since so many people doing this walk were suffering from various foot injuries. I am planning to go back for another Camino this Fall and this time around I was looking for a lighter shoe. I thought the Moab Speed 2 might be precisely what I needed. The shoes are very light and look great. I have been wearing them for a couple of weeks and they immediately felt comfortable. My only concern at this stage is that I am worried I should have purchased half a size larger. I was influenced by reviews saying that they are made big so I went for my usual shoe size. However, my toes feel pretty tight in the new shoes ... MoreI completed the French Camino in 2022 wearing Moab 3. My only concern at this stage is that I am worried I should have purchased half a size larger. I was influenced by reviews saying that they are made big so I went for my usual shoe size. However, my toes feel pretty tight in the new shoes and I am worried that they will be too small when my feet expand in the Spain and Portugal heat.
I like the shoe, but does seem smaller size than other Merrell. The breaking was fast and I can wear them all day after day 3. I'm not sure how they will hold up. The toe area seems pretty thin, but may be so they breath well. I like the style and color and very happy I can wear them all day without discomfort. I have picky feet and not uncommon for me to wear shoes for a week and store in the closet because I find them uncomfortable. These have become my dailies. May buy another pair for later.
Trash. I had the previous generation of this shoe. The Vibram sole chucked off almost immediately. The glued panels on the upper started peeling as well. Very light wear around my home. Most aggressive use was on the gravel driveway. Merrell did grant a warranty replacement but they only give you a short time to use it. I called asking for an exception but was told no. The customer service rep agreed she would rather lose a customer than make one happy. This is a warning to any potential new customers.
I have purchased many Merrell's over the years especially the Moab. Last two pairs of the Speed shoe I have had to return as neither of them lock my heel in place, every step my heel moves up and down. It matters not how I lace the show , my heel will simply not stay in place. Underfoot they feel excellent, but the poor heel lock means I just cannot wear them. I have four pairs of New Balance and not one of them have this problem. I am very disappointed in Merrell for whatever change they made that resulted in this and will no longer be purchasing any of your shoes. I will stick with New Balance from now on.
I bought the Moab Speed 2 for a trip to the Bavarian Alps for hiking the tallest peak in Germany, the Zugspitze. These great shoes also held up extremely well hiking in Tyrol, Austria. I never had any issues with these shoes that required minimal break in periods. Not only were they used for my beautiful hikes in the Alps, they also looked great while exploring historical cities like Innsbruck, Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Munich. Bottom line, this is a phenomenal shoe that not only handled some of the most rugged mountains in the world, but also looked and felt great strolling city streets in Austria and Germany. Wherever your journey takes you, the Moab Speed 2 will not disappoint!
I’ve tried several types of hiking shoes and these are by far the most comfortable I’ve ever worn. They are lightweight and supportive. They provide stability while still allowing flexibility. The cushioning is top notch and great for long hikes. The heel doesn’t slip and was very comfortable. They provide great traction, even on rocky wet surfaces. Fit was true to size. Would definitely recommend and I will only use these for hiking from now on.
These sneakers are fantastic! They're comfortable, lightweight, and fit true to size. I love how they look and feel, making them perfect for everyday wear. Whether I'm running errands or going for a walk, these sneakers provide the support and style I need. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of a great pair of sneakers! They look very sturdy. These shoes are great for summer because they're lightweight and breathable.
