Amazing shoe. All round brilliant shoe. Solid, well made, look good. And just so comfortable straight out of the box.One of the few shoes too, that holds well onto my heel. A well shaped heel cup, that is padded and comfortable, holds my foot in with no heel lift at all. And a well padded high tounge holds well onto the top of the foot.Solid grippy sole with good tread. Lots of support under the arch as well. They seem to breathe well as well as being waterproof. Size is good too.

Bought as a gift which was very well received. They are very light weight yet have a strong, rigid structure which feels sturdy. They look good quality and less synthetic than other walking shoes I considered (the suede parts are attractive). The fit was perfect for the recipient so I would advise it is true to size. All in all a good shoe at a competitive price.

Ive had these shoes about 5 months and tested them across the UK and in the alps. They have pros and cons. I would recommend them for someone looking to walk more flat ish trails. I would not recommend them for mountains where the angle of the trail is quite inclined.Pros :- waterproofing works as long as the water level doesn't go over the shoe- quite pretty- comfy on flat walks, and even harder trails/terrain like gravel or tarmac- sizing accurate- i think the sole will last a long time because of the rubber typeCons- because the tongue is so padded, the feet slide around when the terrain gets inclined. This is annoying and also means that its a bit scary wearing them on technical terrain because you cant trust your foot placements. Something like walking up helvellyn ridges or a big grassy hill would not be great.- they get look dirty very easily- i would like better grip on the solesSo in summary. If youre planning casual flatish walks, theyre fab. And its quite hard to find nice looking hiking shoes. They are good for that.If youre going up mountains, like in the lake district or the alps, get something different. That would have a more secure fit to the shoe.I can happily wear these for 10s of miles in Hampshire in somewhere like the new forest. They drove me mad they were so annoying in the lake district.
It's everything I never knew I wanted in a shoe! For the past 8 years I have been wearing the Merrell Moab Goretex shoe. I buy myself this for Christmas every two years. Ample cushioning, forgives my wide feet, hiking stability, waterproof in the snow, lets my hot feet breathe in summer, walking the dog, running after kids.
I was heartbroken when my 20 year old Merrell's finally gave up the ghost especially as I'd travelled far and wide in them. This new pair is not only extremely comfortable but very well-made, so I hope to have them for many more years. The grip on the bottom is excellent and the outer leather is very water proof. Would highly recommend.
Whilst i love Merrill footwear, this last pair of hikers have already started to loose the toe covering on one foot. It was only after a few weeks of wear. Last pair were fabulous til the end! The hikers are comfortable good for all day wear. I have a bad back and these are tho best for me!
Got these to replace my well worn, all weather, dog walking shoes. I purchased the same in the mid boot a couple of months ago.Sheer comfort and support. No need to break these shoes in, comfy straight off as were the boots.I have a wide foot and take a size 7. I went up half a size in both, great fit. Good arch support. Plenty of room for thick socks. Love the choice of colours in the shoe.Great price, fast delivery. Hope they never change or stop making these, makes such a difference having comfy feet. Not been in heavy rain yet but should be ok being Gor-tex.
In the wrong section and only found by chance.I've moved onto these from my previous 3 pairs of Merrell Siren Sport GTX, because they are more lightweight and in fact Merrell's spec shows they have become lighter. I was looking for something a bit chunkier with a deeper tread and these fit the bill. I'd definitely say Merrell have changed their sizing. All my other pairs (over 10 years) were a 6 but I need a 5 in these. I am a size 5 - 5.5. They are reasonably wide fitting (I will need very thick socks)
Couldn't find these online, think missed filed in Men's but spotted them in store. Replacing previous Merrell boots, wanted shoes this time. Will say, fit is rather too snug, have never gone bigger than a 6 in any shoe but slight pressure on left foot big toe. Didn't realise until went walking so can't change to try a 7. They are roomy width wise though so good if you do need a wide fitting
