I started hiking and found myself skidding everywhere in my sneakers, so I went for these. These have excellent grip for the steep hills (up and down - no slipping) that I do, are very comfortable, first 10 mile steep inclines hike and no blisters, and are not bulky so make you feel clunky.
My first pair of Merrells and I’m happy. Took these on a moderate 3.5 mile dusty and sometimes muddy hike and they were great. Nice grip walking up dry rock river beds and walking down pine needle covered hills. I like that these have an actual arch support since I have high arches. After about 3 miles my feet were tired but my socks were too thin and they shoes still had to be broken in more. I don’t think these would be for hardcore long hiking trips, more for moderate trails for moderate hikers. Overall happy with my purchase and would by Merrell again!

These are really comfortable right out the box even though they are a bit stiff. TTS, like the soft colors, great soles. These will be perfect for travel.
Great fit with room in toe box while still snug on heel. Tread gives confidence and still enough support for trail jogging.
Overall nice shoe, however it has a narrow fit. Not recommend for wide feet
I’m normally a 9 in Women’s and my big toe was hitting the rounded part. So disappointed! The shoe overall felt comfortable. Tried to go back and find a 9.5 but couldn’t!
I had great hopes for these shoes but the toe box was huge while the shoe felt small. Too bad.
