Fittings and Valves are not to be used with hot water, although they withstand the same temperature as polyethlyene pipe. The fittings and valves will withstand sub-zero temperatures. INSTALLATION NOTES Make sure not to over tighten nut when closing. Never use wrenches or spanners with handle lengths longer than 46 cm excessive torque during tightening can spread nut cone and result in pull outs. If fittings are reused, ensure split ring is sharp and bites into pipe to avoid pull outs. Alternatively replace split ring. Use teflon tape on threads to create a good seal. The Plasson/Vinidex long tailed insert fitting has a fixed sealing O-ring for joint security and requires only hand tightening. The fittings are watertight, extremely simple to assemble and disassemble, and will not impair the efficiency of the pipe. MATERIALS Body and Nut - Polypropylene, high grade copolymer. Split Ring - Acetal O-Ring - Nitrile rubber Reinforcing Ring - Stainless steel on all female offtakes from 1.1/4" up to 4". All Tapping Saddles have stainless steel reinforced female offtakes. Nuts and Bolts - Galvanised steel. (Zinc plated with chromate passivator - yellow colour, shiny). OPERATING PRESSURE Comply with requirements of AS/NZS 4129. Standards Mark License No. 2018. All female threads from 1 1/4 Inch to 4 Inch have stainless steel reinforcing rings.
