A Great Machine for the Money

This is a well-built, sturdy golf cart, which is easy to fold and unfold. The handle is easily the most comfortable of any cart I have owned, and the fourth wheel( a rarity on non-remote models) on the back prevents the trolley from tipping over when going up hills. This is not a remote model, but I sometimes just let it go on ahead without holding onto the handle and walk beside or behind it. The standard battery recharges in just 2 hours. It is in a unit that just snaps into place without having to worry about severing wires(something I did on my last trolley!). The battery's strength is measured in four boxes on the machine, but even after 18 holes, it still showed full strength. And that's after using it on a hilly New England course. The battery's strength is measured in four boxes on the machine, but even after 18 holes, it still showed full strength. And that's after using it on a hilly New England course. It's got power to spare. The front two wheels swivel, which make it easy to turn, but it still can go straight if I want to just let it go(The GFI company recommends locking the front wheels if you want to go straight). The trolley comes with a cup holder, wheel covers(never seen that before), a multi-purpose clip, and an umbrella holder, which is by far, the strongest I have ever seen on any trolley(used it today in the rain). Surprisingly, the trolley doesn't come with a scorecard holder, but you can buy one from MGI for $37. Instead, I found a way to do without it: You can use the clip provided to hold onto your card; it even has a "sleeve" for your pencil. Another way around a scorecard holder is to use the large clip which is attached to the cover of the GPS unit on the top of the machine. Of course you then can't use it for your GPS. This is the method I use. Some things I would like to see: larger wheels to help move it if the battery dies on the course and you need to free wheel it; a better speed control button. This one is horizontal on the top of the machine and somewhat recessed. I would prefer a wheel in a vertical position on the side, which is where it is on most other trolleys. Lastly, it's a bit awkward to lift the trolley into my trunk whether the wheels are set in a regular position or reversed to save space. There is just no easy way to lift it.Someone reviewed this trolley and said that he wished it had a 4.5 speed. After using the unit, I tend to agree: 4 is a bit too slow for me, while 5 is a bit too fast. The Goldilocks position would be a 4.5. By the way, it does have many available speeds, from 1 to, I think, 8, which is very fast! This is my third battery-operated trolley and I like it the best of all. I hope I have many years of positive experiences with it.

Exactly what I wanted

I decided to actually use this cart for a few months before giving a review. I have to say this is exactly what I wanted and has lived up to my expectations. Great battery life, I can easily get in a full 7000 yard round and then 3 or 4 laps of the 9 hole par 3 course on a single charge with a few bars left over. Very stable, hasn't even hinted at falling over even on some pretty good side hills around the greens. I usually set the speed at 5 and its the perfect pace for me. I do wish some of the other settings were a bit more intuitive, I don't use the auto distance or distance counter because I always forget how to activate and reset them. A touchscreen would be awesome, even if it bumped the price by $100.5 Star product.

Excellent Electric Cart

It is easy to use and I have experienced no issues with battery life or recharging the battery. I can easily play 18 holes without worrying about the battery dying and I believe I could most likely play 36 holes without recharging the battery. The accessories (GPS holder, umbrella holder, bottle holder & scorecard holder) were a great addition. The cart is a bit heavier than my old Clickgear cart, but, I can easily load it in and out of my car. The Zip 3 does not have a remote control, but, I honestly don't believe I need a remote. Great buggy

2020 MGi Zip x3 buggy. Did my homework before purchasing. Great buggy. Bought the seat and sand bucket accessory, works and fits great. No regrets. 36 hole battery - easy to charge and no issues. Would recommend this buggy, if you’re considering motorized buggy - I feel like it’s a good beginners option.

Happy With My MGI Zip X3
20 August 2021

I've had the Zip X3 for 2 weeks, and have used it 8 times so far (18 holes each). I'm 66 yrs old, and I like to walk regularly for the exercise. I used a Clicgear 3.0 up to now. I find walking 18 holes is much easier with the Zip 3. My course is not hilly, so I don't need a remote or downhill braking system. The Zip X3 fits the bill and is easy to use. There is a 4th wheel (anti tipping) at the back, should I take it up a hill. No issues with battery life or recharging. The battery shows minimum drain after 18 holes, and I'm sure it could go 36. The cart is heavier than my Clickgear, but I can easily load it in and out of the trunk. No GPS on the Zip X3, but I have my Garmin watch for that. Overall, so far, this is a terrific cart and I am very happy with it. I ... MoreI've had the Zip X3 for 2 weeks, and have used it 8 times so far (18 holes each). Love this power cart
20 January 2022

Bought this cart last summer as I found my energy was starting to drain from pushing my golf cart. I just love my MGI X3 power cart. Easy to assemble from the box. Easy for me to lift from my vehicle and quickly assemble. It is light weight and folds down small. It even come with booties for the wheels for clean storage. The battery held for my daily 18 holes with a quick 1 hour charge at the end of the day. Easy to adjust the cart speed on the course to match my walking pace. I highly recommend this cart. I have since purchased the rain cover for easy access to my clubs on rainy day as well as the umbrella extender.

I purchased my Zip 3 cart in February 2021. Since then I have walked with it 2-3 times per week. It has worked flawlessly at my home course in South Carolina which is very hilly. The cart has no problem with the terrain. In fact, in gear 3 or 4 it practically pulls me up the hill. Once a month I grease the two wheel axles using Vaseline petroleum jelly which helps keep my Zip 3 very quiet compared to several of my friend’s other-brand powered carts. I love having all my clubs with me all the time during a round, especially when it is cart path only after one of our major southeastern storms. The battery continues to work great. Even after 18 holes I still have more than 50% charge. I have played 36 holes several time on just one charge. So, I am very pleased with my ... MoreI purchased my Zip 3 cart in February 2021. No problems with the performance of this cart. Solidly built with a reliable battery that is easy to access. The speed range needs to be smaller between gears. For me, 3 is too slow and 4 is too fast. I'm not sure who would need gear 9 other than Usain Bolt. So essentially gears 6-9 are probably useless for most people. A tighter range would be more helpful. Better storage options would be nice too. Some sort of storage net could easily be incorporated into the design. Still, it's a huge upgrade over a push cart.

I bought my Zip Navigator January 3 2021. Could not wait for a break in our New York winter. This came the second week of January, and I was out to play 9 holes. Now this was such an adventure not knowing the oncourse behavior of this cart. After the first 2 holes I got the hang of it. This was pure joy, never had such a great time on a golf course walking playing and chatting with my wife and brother-in law. I have not rode a motorized cart in a year. Very nice. Good entry level electric cart. Like other reviewers I find that the available gears aren’t exactly suited to my pace: 3 is too slow, 4 is too fast at times. But the overall benefit of no longer having to push a cart uphill is wonderful! On steep downhills (which occur next to elevated tee boxes) it requires a lot of strength to hold it back. I turn off the motor in those situations and pull against it as it tries to drag me down hill. A hand-braking system (like on a bicycle) would be perfect. Also it really, really needs an emergency brake. Can’t believe it was designed without one. Maybe there is one -please tell me where..???
