Absolutely AMAZING tires! I ride a 2015 Harley Ultra Limited Low and I just came off of the Commander IIs after 15k miles. I decided to upgrade to the Commander IIIs because the Commander IIs were getting harder to find. I spent a lot of time reading every article I could find about the IIs and did the same thing to research the IIIs. The first day out my wife and I rode 325 miles to the Hocking Hills area of southern Ohio. I love the twisties and OH664 and OH374 don't disappoint. We had a great ride, the tires handled beautifully! My wife commented after the ride how much more comfortable these tires were from the Commander IIs. When cornering on the IIs, you could feel the transition point at the edge of the contact patch, but the IIIs are smoother in the corners without the transition point. I will warn you, this difference makes the bike handle differently. It is a lot more agile and freer when getting into the corners. I am 3k miles into this set of tires and am used to the cornering abilities now and I love these tires!

I was thinking this could just be new tires and have to break them in. I rode the bike home on the freeway without incident and only noticed the buzzing at 25-30 mph. I had a ride planned for the next day and was nervous about the buzzing and called the dealership to get their opinion and advice on whether I should ride. Well, that was really no help, I received the standard answer of can you bring it in? We are booked two weeks out. However, they did say it should be fine to ride, so I went on my ride that day. We rode several different roads throughout the course of the ride. Everything from freeway to slower twisty roads. After several hundred miles the buzzing never went away, but I did notice more of a buzzing feeling throughout my bike. It only happened when I was ridding straight up and anytime I was turning or leaning it would go away. I also notice the buzzing was a little stronger at 50 mph, but continued to be strongest at the 25-30 mph and would quickly go away at 31 mph. I was initially concerned this was caused by the wheel bearing that was replaced until I went out on a longer ride. Now, I feel like it is created by the tires. I am hoping at some point this will all go away, but believe I may have to live with this buzzing until I replace the tire. I love the look of the tire and the review that it will last a long time. I am not happy with the buzzing feeling I now have when riding my bike. want to recommend this tire, but honestly have not put enough miles on it, the form made me pick yes or no and as of this review I would have to say no, sorry., so I thought I would share my initial experiences. I did not ride it in the wet, I have no idea on longevity yet, they make me answer them so I just put three, don't read into that.

I know a few people and myself that have the same complaint that I most commonly read in reviews, "Very noisy with bad vibrations". I don't get it, supposedly Michelin has been a leading tire manufacturer over the years, so I had decided to give them a try by having the commander II's installed on my Softail. I was quite happy for the most part. When I got my '15 Street Glide I had the Commander III's installed resulting in road noise and vibration. I bought them online from a supplier and had local shop install them. Because I did not purchase them through the local shop they would not cover warranty. I then immediately bought another round for my bike just to get issue taken care of quickly. Needless to say, same problems plus I'm out a whole wad of cash at this ... MoreI know a few people and myself that have the same complaint that I most commonly read in reviews, "Very noisy with bad vibrations". Needless to say, same problems plus I'm out a whole wad of cash at this point and as we all know install costs for m-cycle tires can get VERY costly. After nearly several thousand miles on Florida roads the humming noise & vibration is nearly gone. I use a 180/65 16 for rear tire and I can firmly say that they suck for wet roads, they also do NOT provide a smooth ride while taking steep angled turns on dry roads @ normal highway speeds of 45 - 55 mph as it feels like your rear tire is just about to enter the "Infamous Death Wobble". Please note that I keep my tires at manufacturer recommended psi, and I have Legend Revo A shocks on rear, which I'm happy with, the preload / SAG of shocks are set to the manufacturer's recommendation. I will NEVER use Michelin products on any of my vehicles ever again. In my honest and truthful opinion of the aforementioned.....BUYER BEWARE

have a set on a 128 cubic inch (stage 4) FLSB replaced my 888s ultras. I am very happy with the traction they offer on all conditions as well as the wear of the tire. I am about 12000km in and I am ordering a new rear.I used a shop to install those as I do not change tires my street bikes myselfFor the people that that complain losing traction, they all mention cruise control. never use cruise control on wet asphalt.
I have been getting a vibration since I had the tires installed but was not worried about it at first. I has now gotten significantly worse. I have replaced the neck bearings, the breaks, rotors, wheel bearings and even changed out the windshield trying to chase this vibration. Then like magic, right before I decided to buy new rotors fearing the one I have are warped; I found other customers describing the same vibration I was experiencing. This morning proceeded to 8 Ball Tire in Kearney Mesa (GREAT SHOP BTW) and they verified that the tires were balanced and the wheel was fine. I still had to ride home on the old vibration cursed tire because 8Ball said Michelin had to approve the warranty claim. Why do I have to deal with this issue after paying hundreds of dollars more for the Commander 3s than the comparable competitor tires and have to deal with red tape to get the customer happy and on two. Waiting to hear back for 8Ball to see if I'm SOL or I will get taken care of under warranty.
I ran Commander 2’s on my 2014 CTX1300, far superior to other tires I have tried. Grip so well by in dry they inspire confidence. Moved on to a Commander 3 in the rear 200/55-17 size, it felt different and I reduced pressure 4-5 pounds the 3’s seem to have a stiffer sidewall. After break in and reducing pressure from 44-40 it seems just like the Commander 2 tire. (Still have a Commander 2 on front) Mileage depends on how you ride.. I had the rear in the cords on the sides at 6400 miles. The center still had some life left. Michelin hypes these as rain tires.. To be frank, like any other tire, they slip and slide like other tires with similar tread patterns. They don’t have enough siping to provide anything more than average traction at best. With both the Commander 2 and the Commander 3 I have had my traction control detect wheel spin at moderate throttle in rain, BUT a 200mm wide tire isn’t going to be a great wet surface tire.Overall a GREAT tire, I just feel the wet surfaces traction and mileage durability are overhyped.
To begin, I hope this helps someone on the fence about these tires. I'm certainly glad I've purchased a set of Commander III's.I own a 2016 Street Glide, and over the years I've run both HD and Dunlop tires (same compounds, just different tread patterns). Being a creature of habit, and not one for change, I've shied away from any other brands. Many of my friends had made the switch, and were very happy, but I remained loyal to the HDs.I almost purchased a set of Commander II series tires the last time around and became skeptical after hearing rumors of warbling with Commander III. Nevertheless, I decided to take a chance after owning a set of Michelin truck tires and being extremely happy!I love them! Sticky to the road, great ride, very stable. Nevertheless, I decided to take a chance after owning a set of Michelin truck tires and being extremely happy!I love them! Sticky to the road, great ride, very stable. I'm more comfortable in tight turns, and honestly, it completely changed the feel of my bike-for the better!I have no regrets, other than I wish I'd purchased them sooner. Go for it!
I bought these for my 2016 street glide. They feel more motorcycle tire as the dulops seem to be more car tire. These seem more of a round edge feel as the Dunlops had a more square feel. With that being said these are definitely a better track tire and I don't feel as stabile. I feel loose but not slippery loose just not as square stable. I love the tires though I feel the benefits are lost on the touring type bike. But I have less than 100 miles on them so this is just first impressions.
The tires look nice but I got sold the wrong ones I believe because they constantly need to get air pumped and the bike is already heavy as it is having a flat tire feeling constantly makes a hard time pushing the motorcycle. I was overwhelmed by just looking for new tires so I just took what was offered to not look like I didn’t know about motorcycles. I later found out there is only two brands that are accepted by Yamaha for this motorcycle and if you think about it this exhaust pipe get very hot don’t want tubes tires near high heat hence why in the owners manual it’s recommended tubeless tires.
I replaced my Michelin Commander II with the newer design Commander III tire. I tell you what!I didn't think there would be a longer lasting tire than the Commander II tire. I WAS WRONG! The Commander III tire has already past the milage I got from the Commander II. It'll be time to replace it not too long into the future but I believe I probably have about 5000 miles left. I ride EXTREMELY hard. KUDOS to Michelin for developing such an awesome tire. I'm in Arizona and the streets in Tucson have potholes all over the place. Typically rough on tires and wheels. I already know what my next tire is going to be! Michelin Commander III.
