Perfect size - not too bulk to carry with a laptop and not too small, which can make a mouse hard to use. Battery life is great, Bluetooth is great not having to tie up a USB port with a receiver. Four-way scrolling is useful and button clicks are just right - the feel, the sound, the pressure required. I have bought several of these over the years, so every computer I have is running one of these.

I bought two of these mice for use with Raspberry Pi computers and they work great. The mouse connects quickly every time I boot up the computer and stays connected. I like that I can tap the button on the bottom of the mouse to save the battery if I won’t be using the mouse for a while. When I tap the button again, the mouse reconnects with no discernible delay. For the the price, it is hard to go wrong, provided the computer you’re using has Bluetooth. There’s no USB dongle; you must use Bluetooth. The ergonomics of the mouse are good. I decided that I was going to get rid of as many 2.4GHz wireless dongle receivers as possible from my computing equipment by switching to Bluetooth technology. Now, Im using the same Bluetooth keyboards and mice with my Win8.1 PC and my Win10 tablet, and all without having to switch 2.4MHz receivers from PC to PC or buying separate input devices for each computing device. Since I have been happy with previous Microsoft wireless Blue Track mice, 6 months ago I searched for, and found, the only Bluetooth Blue Track mouse that I could use as a lefty. It was the ambidextrous Microsoft Sculpt Touch Bluetooth Mouse; an interesting MS experiment, but the touch strip, instead of a scroll wheel, has been less than satisfactory for me. It has been inconsistent and irregular for horizontal and vertical scrolling. Along comes this MS Bluetooth Mobile Mouse 3600 and I'm happy to now be using the Sculpt Touch Mouse as only a backup. The scroll wheel on the new 3600 has soft clicks (detents) that are only slightly audible. The Blue Track works well on my furniture surfaces, as expected, when operating my HTPC. Since I've only been using the 3600 for a few days, I cannot attest to it's battery life or durability, but it sure works well for me, at this point. My only 3600 issue is that I have large hands and its a mobile mouse and therefore smaller than a traditional mouse. No biggie, I've adjusted comfortably, but I hope that MS comes to market with a larger version eventually.

I found it easy to pair this bluetooth mouse with my Surface Pro. I have small hands, so it is comfortable for me to use this mouse. I think it may not be as comfortable for someone with larger hands. I find the scrolling to be "bumpy" and jerky. Not smooth at all. There are also times when the cursor just seems to freeze on the screen. None of this improved even after I went into the computer settings and tweaked them. There also does not appear to be an on/off switch on this mouse, and could find no reference to one in the very small and skimpy enclosed "guide" to the mouse that came in the box. It is too early yet to rate battery life, but I fear with no way to shut the mouse off, it will not be as good as I am hoping. I chose it because I wanted something small and portable to replace the EXPENSIVE Microsoft Surface Pro mouse I bought that lies flat when shut off/not in use and turns on when you curve it to fit your hand. That was a much better mouse but only lasted just over a year when it stopped working totally.
I have the toughest time finding a good Bluetooth mouse. Many are shaped for the right hand (only). I tried one from Lenovo. Its clickers died within weeks. I got one from HP. Its scroll wheel started to fail after a few months. Now I got this one from Microsoft. The mouse works, but the scroll wheel doesn't seem to work right under macOS. The system treats it like an inertia wheel. Slight scrolls are ignored, while quicker scrolls cause an entire page to jump. Not only that, I get random disconnects. OS X 10.11 and macOS 10.12/10.12.1 would randomly lose the connection in the middle of working. It seems 10.12.2 fixed that, but now the connection drops when I wake the system from sleep. I can wait a few moments for it to re-establish, or I can turn Bluetooth off and back on to make it connect. When I boot back and forth between Windows and macOS, the mouse becomes unpaired, or somehow appears as a different device to the system. I have to remove its old mouse entry and then re-add it to make it work. I never had to do that with the past two Bluetooth mice that I used. I'm tired of buying more and more Bluetooth mice - I will probably just go back to regular RF mice and leave a receiver plugged into a USB port all the time. As for its physical design, the shape is fine and it fits nicely in the hand, but the rubberized grip makes oils and lint stick to it.
I love this mouse. The reason I was shopping for it was because mine got stolen along with my laptop. I was almost as sad about the mouse as the laptop. It's a great, small size (but not super-flat) and the bluetooth feature works great. I hate having a dongle sticking out of my laptop while carrying it, and it's too much work to put it in each time. The battery lasts FOREVER (approximately). The color is nice and the one I had was still looking just fine after several years of use.
I'm upgrading from a 3500, which I loved. But I was wanting to get away from the dongle, and was wanting to try out the BlueTrack technology. I looked at the 4000 and didn't like it. Too many buttons and it didn't feel quite as comfortable as what I was wanting. Then I found this, the 3600. It works well on all surfaces, feels great ergonomically, nice touch to it, no connection issues, and minimal functionality. Everything seemed perfect! Scrolling was great, despite no indentions on the wheel like I'm used to. But then I noticed when I "clicked" the mouse wheel, it felt like it clicked about three or four times. It's because there is a four-way scrolling feature, where pushing the wheel to either side will scroll horizontally. It could be useful in some very situational cases, which I am okay with. The problem is that it clicks similarly to when you push down the wheel. It won't actually do the mouse click action four times, but it may be irritating if you're a person with OCD. Without the additional "clicks" from the four-way scrolling (or without the entire feature of four-way scrolling), this would be a perfect product. I'll keep this review up to date if something changes.
I've been a big fan of the wireless USB version of this mouse for a number of years now. The scroll wheel wears out after a year or so, and the little USB transmitter sometimes breaks off in the USB port (not good), so I tried the Bluetooth version. I've been using it for a week now and find that it's almost identical to the weight and tracking and feel of the wireless USB version, but there's no USB transmitter to worry about. I'll update if there's anything strange, but I love this! Update: On my mac, under OS X Sierra, sometimes the mouse becomes unrecognizable when waking from sleep mode. I have to use another mouse, navigate up to the Bluetooth menu, select this mouse again, and then it springs to life. I have to use another mouse, navigate up to the Bluetooth menu, select this mouse again, and then it springs to life. Not good, but I'm going to assume it's a strange software bug that will be sorted out soon enough. The mouse is fantastic to use. Update 2: Little discovery: by pressing both mouse buttons at once, the Mac OS recognizes the mouse right away. No more need to grab another mouse or power cycle the device. Update 3: Okay, Update 2 wasn't correct. I'm having a lot of consistency issues with this mouse. I love the way it handles, moves around on the screen, the scroll wheel, etc..., but the bluetooth connection is extremely buggy. I can use several other bluetooth devices without problem on this same computer, so I know that it isn't a system-wide issue – it seems to only affect this mouse. I've reset the PRAM in Mac OS X, hoping that will help, but the more I research this problem the more I suspect that this particular mouse is just not well-engineered from a firmware/software point of view. The USB version is essentially identical, but also suffers from interference issues when the USB dongle is put in the wrong USB port (it seems to dislike being placed directly into the computer, but also dislikes living on a USB hub, but my last one got stuck in my keyboard's USB port so that's why I bought this mouse). If it weren't for the feel and tracking of this mouse, I'd swear off Microsoft mice for good. I'll update if I find anything consistently functional, but for now I've reduced the rating back to 3/5 stars. Here is a little more info on what I experience, in case anyone wants to compare notes and find a way to fix this: The mouse loses connection when the screen turns off, even if the computer doesn't go to sleep. I'm not sure if it's linked to the hard drive spinning down or not (which you wouldn't think would affect Bluetooth, but neither does the screen turning off after 10 minutes of idle activity, so I'm exploring all options, here). When I manually put the computer to sleep, I can wake it up with this mouse without problems. I'm using Mac OS X 10.12.3 (Sierra), the current build of the OS. Update 4: I still love the mouse, but it still struggles to connect to my Mac after it has been asleep. I've found that it works perfectly if I wake the computer up using the mouse, as opposed to hitting a key on the keyboard to wake it up. Use the mouse to wake it up and you should be fine! Update 5: Waking the sleeping computer up using the mouse is still working, but now I'm noticing that half of the time when I reboot or power on the computer for the first time, it fails to recognize the mouse until I open the Bluetooth connectivity window, which seems to refresh something and the mouse instantly connects (without being selected on the Bluetooth list). This mouse is so buggy that I really can't recommend it to anyone. Shame on Microsoft!
I'm glad Microsoft still makes this mouse. I've had a few of them over the years, and keep coming back to them even after trying fancy and more expensive "ergonomic" or performance mice. Even though this little guy is primarily designed as a portable laptop mouse, I find it just fits my hand better than most and does not cause hand pain. Because of previous carpal tunnel injuries, even after surgery, I still get tingling after using a mouse for awhile. I often switch from mousing with my right hand to my left, and this mouse is symmetric for easy use on either side. And since I do 3D CAD design work in Solidworks, I'm on my computer for most of the day and have to do lots of precise mouse moving. This mouse is great for that. While small, it does have a great curve over the top that doesn't leave your hand straining. Have loved them for years. At least they are great until the molded rubbery material on the bottom of the mouse degrades into a sticky gooey mess. Oh well, since they are relatively inexpensive, and bluetooth technology changes, it just means it's time to buy another one.
Very nicely constructed "laptop-sized" mouse with standard buttons, including an extra within the scroll wheel. These are customizable via the software driver provided, if desired. It pairs very easily with the computer in Bluetooth mode, and the tracking is excellent on all surfaces that I tried, including glass. It might be too small for people with very large hands, but otherwise feels very ergonomically sensitive. The plastic on the sides is coated with a material which provides slight resistance so that the mouse will remain confidently and effortlessly within grasp. It uses a single AA battery which is easily accessible by an easily removable tab on the under-surface. Nearby, there is a small on/off button which activates a blue light, which will blink when put into bluetooth discover mode by simply holding down the "on" button for a short period. Once paired, the light glows continuously. Unfortunately, there is no illumination on the upper surface of the mouse to show that it is "on", so, trust me, it is easy to forget to turn it off; however, in the rest mode, fortunately little current is consumed so that failure to turn it off will impact relatively minimally on battery life. I have used this mouse frequently for over a year, and it both works and looks just as new. It is easily one of the nicest of the standard mouses on the market. Although it is designed primarily for use with laptops, and is of easily portable size, it is absolutely rugged enough for use even with a workstation with bluetooth connectability.
