This was my first time buying or using a Microsoft manufactured laptop/PC and I've been nothing but impressed! This surface go 2 has been my main everyday laptop for about 2 years and it's nothing short of amazing! It's lightweight which I love, and allows me to use my regular windows applications without issue! My favourite part is the ability to switch from laptop to tablet mode in order to write notes with my surface pen. Definitely get a Microsoft surface if you can. I plan on investing more into the surface product line buy purchasing a full size surface laptop soon! Extremely worth it!

I knew going in that this wasn't really a full blown laptop replacement. I wanted something small and portable that would sleep and wake quickly, while offering considerably more functionality than an iPad. The Surface Go turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. With the Type Cover, it offers a full desktop experience (unlike an iPad with iPadOS) while not being too cumbersome to carry around all day. The smaller form factor (compared to the Pro models) is a feature as far as I am concerned, and the build quality appears to be excellent - even though it is considered a budget tablet.

I just love this little computer. It was given to me brand new as a Christmas gift several years ago, and at first I thought that I would have little use for it due to the Windows 10 mode S limitation of only being able to install software from the windows store. But soon I discovered how to get out of mode S and then wow! - what a great little machine! I use this computer for everything. I am a software developer so I use it for programming. In addition, I am an amateur radio enthusiast and SWL and so I also use it to run various SDR radio and digital mode programs. I also use it as a test instrument on my workbench, running DVM and spectrum analyzer software. Further, it is used for website building, eMail correspondence, and watching videos to boot :). It handles all of these tasks well. Speed is good, screen is very bright and clear, and sound is awesome. For connectivity, Microsoft made a great choice in using a single USB-C port. USB Type C is quickly becoming the standard and with good reason - the physical connectors are rugged, small, and data transfer is lightning fast. The surface go can also be charged through its USB-C port, and it can easily power accessory devices through same as well. But what I really like is the size and weight - they are so perfect! I can toss it into my backpack, bicycle bag, or just tuck it under an arm. And its very ruggedly built too. I've had many, many laptops etc over the years but none of them really worked as well for me. As of this writing, the Surface Go is now in its third generation. In my opinion, if you want a great little jack-of-all-trades Windows computer, you can't go wrong with the Surface Go.

The Surface Go is a great little computer. I use it for everything from online business to programming. The size is just right - fits nicely into my bicycle bag and goes everywhere with me. Battery life is good. Build quality is excellent - the metal alloy case is rugged, smooth, and has a solid feel. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass which is very tough and is scratch resistant. Mine was a bundle and came with the optional keyboard cover. I find the keyboard to be very nice with good tactile feedback, and the keys are well placed. Backlighting is a bonus for use in dim areas. But the cool thing is that you don't really need the optional surface go keyboard because this computer also has Bluetooth and so will connect to most all Bluetooth keyboards ... MoreThe Surface Go is a great little computer. Backlighting is a bonus for use in dim areas. But the cool thing is that you don't really need the optional surface go keyboard because this computer also has Bluetooth and so will connect to most all Bluetooth keyboards and other devices so you have a wide range of options. For connectivity there is a USB-C port. My devices are all standard USB and so would not connect but a simple and inexpensive adapter fixed the issue. The USB-C was a great choice by Microsoft for this tablet because it is small and more mechanically rugged than a standard USB port. Also, it can handle more electrical current which means that externally powered USB hubs are no longer needed in most cases. Out of the box, the operating system is Windows 10s. This is a limited version of Windows 10 which only lets you install software from the Microsoft store. That is a deal breaker for me and many others but fortunately there is an easy, painless way to convert to full Windows 10 professional which involves just following some simple instructions from Microsoft. To sum, I think that the Surface Go is good value for money. I'm very pleased with it and would recommend.
UPDATE: The GPU has died one month in. One Google search will tell you that it is near impossible to fix these computers' internals. I've had this laptop for one month and it's already unusable, updating drivers has done nothing, it's 100% the GPU and I am horribly disappointed as I had held onto hope that it wasn't as bad as it was for the entire first month of owning it, but it barely even lets me see what I'm doing nowadays. It always has either ghost images of the last thing it had pulled up (whether it's the Windows logo from booting up, or whatever application I had open last), or it goes to INTENSE strobe. $200 down the drain. I wish this didn't happen and I wish something could be done because I did not have $200 to waste on something I NEEDED for work.
If you need a Windows 10 tablet with built-in LTE this is a great choice. Very few Windows 10 laptops are LTE capable now days so there are not many options unless you want to carry a hotspot everywhere. Please note this does not come with a case, keyboard, stylus or Office365 license. Upon first use the device seemed very slow but that was because it was installing many windows updates and device firmware patches. Once all updates are done the device is quite fast. The touchscreen is very good and sharp enough to accomplish almost anything. I wish it had better battery life as I get about 3+- or so hours of use and maybe 7-8 hours of standby.
So far it's been a good experience. My iPad was outdated and not capable of OS upgrades, so some apps would not work forcing me to look for a replacement and why I decided to look at this because because the prices for a comparable iPads were crazy high. The only problem I have had so far is after I upgraded to Windows 11 and after a few weeks the wifi stopped working. It took me a little time and with the support of the MS support community I was able to get it working again. Only gripe is the magnetic charging port. I like magnetic charging option, but this is poorly designed very awkward to keep on when using it. The design style on my old Macbook Pro would be great on this tablet.
I bought the surface go 2 because my husband has th surface go pro for work, and since I'm always having to carry my laptop, it's small, easy to use. I have the attached keyboard. A couple things about the OS - Seems to freeze often and I don't even have all my files synced get from my laptop. Windows aren't closing when I click "x" or use task bar, "close window". When I open apps, it doesn't show that it's opening nor the wait message - it just doesn't open.I do have to buy new licensing for the office products, can't just switch from my laptop to surface, so not yet using for that feature.Tablet mode doesn't seem to do anything different cause when a key is accidentally pressed on attached keyboard, it acts upon that key press.I would probably not get this ... MoreI bought the surface go 2 because my husband has th surface go pro for work, and since I'm always having to carry my laptop, it's small, easy to use.
