I purchase Microsoft-Surface Go Type Cover and keyboard together. And very happy with both. I for one know that the surface has touch screen. But lets face finger prints on your screen are pain and then having to wipe clean after while. This keyboard and cover are great and very easy to use. Higly recommend to anyone. Thanks

I appreciated the sleekness of the product and gave it a try - only to quickly realize that the ergonomics of this product demand discretion for the small-handed and short-fingered discriminatorily focused group who would otherwise enjoy this product. Why I'm sad about the product experience: With just a "little more thought", the same low-profile, lightweight design could have been engineered with more diversity in mind. How so, do I say? Actually, I write by typing: with that, I advise that the product be wider, but narrow. The same goals can be accomplished for a more diversified audience of varying hand and finger sizes. Limiting the product to small fingers and hands is the flaw of the product strategy. Whoever designed the product must have really small hands. ... MoreI appreciated the sleekness of the product and gave it a try - only to quickly realize that the ergonomics of this product demand discretion for the small-handed and short-fingered discriminatorily focused group who would otherwise enjoy this product. The Type Cover attaches magnetically to the tablet, providing a secure connection and transforming the Surface Go into a highly functional laptop-like device. The premium materials used in its construction ensure durability and a comfortable typing experience. The keyboard on the Surface Go Type Cover is surprisingly comfortable to type on, considering its compact size. The keys are well-spaced and offer good feedback, allowing for efficient and accurate typing. Despite the smaller form factor, I found myself adapting quickly to the keyboard and achieving a decent typing speed. The addition of a full row of function keys enhances productivity by providing quick access to various functions and shortcuts. The trackpad on the Surface Go Type Cover is responsive and precise. It supports multi-touch gestures, allowing for smooth navigation and efficient control over the tablet's interface. The trackpad's size is adequate for the compact nature of the Type Cover, and it provides a satisfactory user experience, although it may not match the size and precision of larger laptop trackpads. One of the key advantages of the Surface Go Type Cover is its versatility. The cover can be folded backward to serve as a stand, providing multiple viewing angles for comfortable usage in different scenarios. Whether you're typing, drawing with a stylus, or watching media, the adjustable stand allows you to find the optimal angle for your needs. The Surface Go Type Cover also offers protection for the Surface Go's display when closed. It effectively shields the screen from scratches and dust, giving you peace of mind when carrying your device in a bag or backpack. Additionally, the Type Cover's magnetic attachment ensures that it remains securely closed when not in use, adding an extra layer of convenience and protection. However, it's important to note that the Surface Go Type Cover may not be ideal for users with larger hands or those accustomed to full-sized keyboards. The smaller keys and reduced key travel may take some getting used to, and individuals with larger fingers might find it slightly cramped for extended typing sessions. In summary, the Surface Go Type Cover is a compact and functional accessory that greatly enhances the usability and versatility of the Surface Go tablet. Its sleek design, comfortable keyboard, responsive trackpad, and adjustable stand make it a valuable addition for users seeking a laptop-like experience on the go. While it may not be suitable for users with larger hands or those requiring a full-sized keyboard, the Surface Go Type Cover provides a reliable and efficient typing solution for the Surface Go, making it an essential accessory for Surface Go owners.

Frankly, I thing every Surface should come with one of these, not just the pro models. It is very helpful to be able to have a keyboard if you need it and be able to take it off when you don't. Sure you could use a Bluetooth keyboard but since it is physically connected to the surface it doesn't need batteries like a BT would. The keys are quite a bit smaller than I was expecting and it takes some adjustments to how to type with these sausage fingers. The only thing wrong with mine is the left SHIFT key doesn't work. Inconvenient yes, but not enough to make me stop using it or try to return it since the other SHIFT does work. + detachable keyboard with track pad + doesn't use batteries + doubles as a screen protector - keys smaller than expected (for someone with ... MoreFrankly, I thing every Surface should come with one of these, not just the pro models. I would recommend this product. I only wish it had another USB port so a USB, a port and a USB-C port plus the headphone jack. Or even a USB a port, a USB seaport, another USB-C port, and a headphone jack. Overall, though I am 100% happy with this thing and have use it for work While I’m on vacation, and to take notes at meetings that I go to. I used a surface in 2015 and the experience was less than optimal. I’m so glad that things have taken a turn for the better in the positive. This is my first time using a service laptop, and it hopefully will not be my last.
I bought this to complement a Surface Go I recently bought, and cannot say enough good things about it. I am still evaluating the Surface Go itself and can't say it's as good as my iPad Pro 10.5", but I CAN definitively say this Microsoft keyboard is vastly superior to the iPad's more expensive and less capable one. Note that the iPad's keyboard has no trackpad, and you can't use a mouse with it.This keyboard has keys with excellent travel, decently spaced considering its size, and a wonderful trackpad that rivals Apple's. I have never seen a Windows trackpad that could compete with an Apple one for smoothness and precision, but this one does. The left-click feel and pointer precision and speed were perfect out of the box, and I didn't have to make any adjustment ... MoreI bought this to complement a Surface Go I recently bought, and cannot say enough good things about it. I have never seen a Windows trackpad that could compete with an Apple one for smoothness and precision, but this one does. The left-click feel and pointer precision and speed were perfect out of the box, and I didn't have to make any adjustment at all. This keyboard also has a lighted Caps lock button and adjustable backlighting, unlike the portable Apple keyboard for the iPad, and soft felt-like palm rests. It clasps magnetically to the Surface in a very similar way that the iPad does to its keyboard, which also serves as the power connection, so no batteries are needed, nor does it ever need to be charged. The keyboard also lays flat against the Surface's screen and magnetically clasps to the frame. Overall thickness and weight between the iPad Pro and the Surface Go with keyboards attached are very similar, though the iPad tablet is about 2mm thinner than the Surface tablet itself. The iPad keyboard itself is smaller and narrower when set up, though Apple chose to also use the keyboard as a stand for the iPad, which adds some bulk when you fold it to stow - whereas the Surface keyboard is entirely flat, since MS built the stand into the Surface itself rather than the keyboard. End result is the Surface keyboard is much larger and more usable than the iPad's, includes a trackpad and more keys, yet is less bulky and takes up no more space when stowed.I can say this keyboard/trackpad makes the Surface go very usable as a laptop if you're sitting at a desk in a hotel, and makes using applications such as Excel and Powerpoint much more usable and easy to manipulate than they are on an iPad. If you want a portable computer that's easy to tote and very usable as a PC when traveling, the Surface series with an MS Surface keyboard is the way to go. It also has a full set of function keys, as well as keys for brightness, sound, etc., which the iPad's doesn't. See photos - Surface on left.
Is it worth it at full price? Meh... But it's definitely worth it at a bargain price. Keys are about 75% the size of a regular keyboard so you definitely have to get used to it. Trackpad is good for what it is, taps and clicks are responsive. Best part is the magnetic part that holds it at a good angle and the magnet that signals when it's closed to turn the screen off automatically. Definitely recommend if you can get a deal.
I purchased a Surface Go 2 at the Kanata location and ordered a keyboard because they didn't have this one in stock. I didn't care about colour and was told that this one was on sale for $129 from the original price of $169 because Microsoft was phasing out this colour. "No store has it in stock", was what I was told, so it would be shipped in one week. 6 days later, it showed up in my mailbox. Immediately. I noticed that the tape was already peeled back and dirty which meant there was no adhesive left on the tape. I pulled back the plastic cover to find a keyboard with stains all over it. If I could include pictures here, I would. There are stains which are similar to coffee stains underneath the keys in several places, as well as the back. There was no discussion or suggestion on how to remedy the terribly poor customer service.Once again, I am reminded that the days of brick and mortar, big box stores are numbered. With service like this, I am confident that Best Buy will follow in the footsteps of its forgotten relative, Future Shop.
