This machine looks attractive. The extending tube was easy to adjust. The handle was comfortable to use. However, it is very hard to push the normal head on carpeted surfaces. The normal head has a roughish undersurface which increases the drag as you push it back and forwards. The gaps between the power gradations are too large. Even when set on speed 2 of six, it was very hard to push on carpet due to too much suction. Overall regretting this purchase now.

After researching and reading up quite a bit, finally bit the bullet and spent the money on this one. Family have always had Miele, and they have all lasted 15 years or so, so I was confident it would be a good product overall. Wasn't so sure about the turbo heads though, and whether it would be worth the investment. I can confirm the mini turbo head is amazing! No matter how much I attacked my couch and kitchen chairs with a lint remover AND a roller, I just couldn't lift all the cat hair out. But this did an amazing job. They looked cleaner than ever! The only reason I don't give 5 stars as the heads aren't super easy to clean. There is a groove to run scissors or a knife through, and then you pull out any entangled hair... but it is hard to get at and do ... MoreAfter researching and reading up quite a bit, finally bit the bullet and spent the money on this one. I think with a bit more thought and better design, this part could be improved upon. But overall - happy with the results

I've had a very expensive vacuum cleaner (one with all the bells and whistles - filters the air, etc, and bagless) for years and wanted to get something "simpler and easier" to use as I was tired of the "work" required in moving it and putting it together. I wanted to go back to a bagged machine so I did a lot of research and settled on the Miele C3 Cat & Dog and I am thrilled with it. It's so nice to be able to get the machine out in one piece without having to put it together and just do the job. It's easy to change heads to do skirting, cob webs, dusting, etc. It has amazing suction. I couldn't be happier to go back to a normal vacuum cleaner that actually works really well. Best money I've spent in a long time.

It was on sale from ebay for $445 with a plus and a discount code (bargain!!), so I made the plunge. I'm SO glad I did! We moved recently and now have carpets and tiles, a long haired cat, a short haired dog, lots of dust, and humid environment [QLD]. My floor finally feel clean! A kmart one and dyson v7 really don't clean carpets like the miele- I'm slightly allergic to cats and dust, so this has really helped being able to breathe the day after I've vacuumed. I like that the hose/extendable bit and cord are really long plus there's many heads to choose from. It's not too heavy and moves smoothly everywhere. The turbo head is loud, but it works so I don't care. Overall, highly recommend if you can get it on sale (unless cost isn't an issue for you).
I wanted a bagged machine as I didn't fancy tipping out bagless contents with a cloud of dust. This has amazing suction, I have to run at 1/2 power as the attachment just lifts the carpet up and won't move. Comes with a charcoal filter for smell, can be replaced with a HEPA filter. Bags and filters can be purchased from Miele direct or cheaper on Ebay. Just make sure they are genuine if you want the best quality. Same with the attachments, but are cheaper on Ebay and do the same job but not quite the perfect fit. Comes with 2 turbo brushes that work well for the little I used. They have been designed well as some turbo brushes can be mediocre.
This is my second Miele vacuum, an upgrade on the old C1 which I'm relegating to dirtier jobs now. Much like the old one, I'm getting great performance with minimal noise out of this new C3 Cat And Dog. With the bigger dust bag, I'm expecting to get much more run time before having to change bags. For those wondering, I was changing the smaller FJM dust bags every 3 months in the old C1, with a small footprint of rooms to vacuum. I imagine I'll get 5 months out of the bigger GN dust bag with this new unit. Also for those wondering, once you use a Miele vac with filter bags, you may never go back to cyclonic again. The reason is that you don't have to worry about emptying it for months at a time, and when you do, it's a very clean and easy process. Additionally, I feel that the noise level of a Miele bag vac is lower than a typical cyclonic. Caveat is that I haven't tried Miele's new cyclonics, so I don't know if they are comparable on the noise level.
A great cleaner stores parts easily in its body so you dont have to remember to get them all out of the cupboard. Can store standing up or lying down. Works really well on picking up animal hair, my teenagers long hair. Really cleans carpet well . All in all a great vacuum. Even gas extra attachments if you want for cleaning your car or those squeezy sides between your fridge and cabinetry.
Pros: It’s very easy to use. It’s quick to adjust and swap tools, which are stored onboard. It’s bagged, so no more cleaning out messy containers after. It’s powerful and you can adjust the power. It has an automatic cable rewind. Decent build quality as you’d expect from the brand. Cons: Bags are expensive, but they do hold quite a lot and they do a very good job of filtering. It’s also preferable than emptying out the dust container on a bag less, so not sure why I’m marking this as a negative! Hair gets wrapped round the turbo brush. The original cat and dog turbo brush could be easily dismantled to remove it, whereas this one isn’t as easy. Although this isn’t an issue for me personally, it’s quite heavy, so bear this in mind if it’s an issue for you.
I guess you get what you pay for! This is an extremely well built vacuum with adjustable settings on the touch of a button located on the top of the machine. On off and cable recoil are large buttons that can easily be operated by foot. So does it work ? We have a GSD and this vacuum certainly does pick up the hair. The carpets look visibly different from our previous vacuum filling the bag quicker than expected. The filters are great, no pet smells after vacuuming. This has now settled down after the initial clean which shows that our previous machine may not have been as good as we thought. Hair does tangle around the power brush head but this is easily cut away. A free box of bags when you register the product with Miele. Overall, pleased with purchase and I am ... MoreI guess you get what you pay for! Purchased 6 weeks ago but only used four times since, and it malfunctioned today. It has been used twice to vacuum a lounge carpet (short pile, approx 8ft square, a fair bit of cat hair) and a narrow short-pile runner twice. Today it lost suction without warning. Turns out the dust bag was overflowing - the whole space inside the compartment full of cat hair. Replacing the bag and cleaning the interior didn't solve the problem - the cleaner still had no suction. Checked the hose etc was clear. Removing the filter, shaking it and re-fitting it resulted in some suction, but this had to be repeated several times with only short-lasting success. The instruction booklet has a section on 'Troubleshooting' which is a complete joke, stating only that if the machine gets ... MorePurchased 6 weeks ago but only used four times since, and it malfunctioned today. This is a very expensive vacuum cleaner, designed to deal with cat hair, which it completely failed to do. We have a 34 year old AEG cleaner that still works and has never let us down. This new Miele is huge disappointment and literally unfit for purpose.
